Hey guys, zone 7b here.
I planeted a few Carex sp. "Everillo" sedges in late fall. We were hit with an unseasonably early and cold freeze (dropped 50 degrees in 24 hours, down to 4 degrees!).
Anyways, this "evergreen" grass lost all of its green from the freeze. I cut back the dead foliage off a week or two ago, same as I do my monkey grass, to make room for new growth if it made it.
Well, my monkey grass has woken up and is sending up new growth. My carex sedge is just sitting there still w no new signs of life. Hoping I don't need to replace it- at $15 a plant, it adds up quick!
I'm wondering, if it made it, when would I expect to see it wake up here in zone 7b?
Carex \"Everillo\"- is it dead?
