August Weather, Dog Days
Spent the morning at the Farmers Market.
Beautiful day to start. By noon it was very hot. Felt good to get in the air conditioned truck & head home. I was rather wore out after big day yesterday getting things picked & washed, then up at 4 AM this morning.
Napped all afternoon, now ready to party tonight!

Not sure what the high was today but it was hot and humid. Felt like that last week we had of oppressive humidity. Then we had a itty bitty storm roll thru that was so small it was barely noticeable on radar. Heavy rain and pea sized hail for about 15-30 min. That made things worse.
But I come home and I get hit with a strong breeze and cooler temps. The joys of living in the country!! LOL
They were calling for a high of 92° F. I'm sure it made it if not more.

Humidity is miserable here and it is 90 degrees at noon , whew it's Hot ,!!!
August 1 is a cross quarter day. It is half way between the Summer Solstice and Autumnal Equinox. One name for it is Lammas. In some societies it was considered the first day of autumn. In an agricultural society autumn was equated with harvest.

Thunder and lightning in the morning are a strange thing to me. Let's hope the Iowa tornadoes got it out of their system.

36hrs of continuous rain after left overs from tropical depression 9E gave us a good rain. Tropical Storm Guillermo now heading our way but seems to be drifting north. We will get some more heavy rain but not as scary as it was. Should be nice day today.
Today turned out to be a decent day. Only reached high 80s with lower humidity thanks to a cool front. Have yet to get any rain out of the system but hearing tomorrow.

Kelli Afternoon with the Sunshine and that Humidity , it is miserable in the Sun ,, it is 80 degrees now , Saying a high of 81 , the forecast is going to miss that by 4 or 5 degrees ,,
First three days of August were pleasant because they were cloudy all day, so temps stayed lower, really nice and breezy as a low stayed around. Never got above 84°.
Low has moved on now and back to normal summer temps...today back up to the 90's...chance of rain.
72 with some rain and thunder. Nothing major but oh so nice. lol.

Guillermo moved farther north enough to avoid the bad weather. Might get some heavy showers tomorrow. Tropical Storm watch should get lifted this evening, flash flood watch in effect. Flood advisory in effect about 50 miles to the south. Raining at 3 inches an hour.

We definitely had some rain showers this afternoon. It was needed so no complaints. 90 currently with high humidity but it's going to go way down tomorrow after the next round of rain moves in.
