Thanks Susan. They certainly do look similar. They only thing about Ruffles a la Mode is that it doesn't open good on a cold morning. It would rather it be warm.
Clump Thread
Hi, Y'all!
Been following this Thread--and love all the different DL's and their names.
Here is a couple I have not seen yet.
1 &2--How about a clump of "Frans Hals" Day Lilies? Haven't seen them on this Thread,,,,,
3&4--I only have few I have been growing in years past, The other one is
"Red Volunteer"...and old variety...
5--Then I have this weird--very tall "Monster" Daylily, which grew bigger and bigger every year.
I dug it out of my small bed and moved it to a different location. Don't have a "Clump"--but
do any of you know what this one is?
I have several other lilies--but cannot show you a "clump"--just single blooms.
Thanks, Gita
Gitagal, Frans Hals bloom late for us here in the midwest. Your season start before ours so you are way ahead of us. The last one is one of the Flore Pleno species. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/29149/#b
Hazelcrest--
My Frans Hals are not blooming yet here either.
The picture was from last year.
Right now--the "Red Volunteers" own all the space in the bed.
I have a question: To keep the massive leaves of a DL in check--
can they be cut back by half after they are done blooming???
Would this affect the flowering any next year?
Would you know the name of this one? I just call it "Mauve Lily".
Thanks, Gita
Mike--
Your "Little Grapette" (in 2nd set of pics.--#4) Looks a lot like my
NOID I posted above asking for ID. The color of mine is more like yours--really mauve--
it is just that my camera does nor photograph colors well--so it looks pinker.
Would you look again and compare? Thanks. Gita
Cindy thanks. With all the rain we have been getting with more on the way today, I haven't watered much this season. I hope it stays that way. Can you say REBLOOM!! LOL!
Gitagal here is another pic of Little Grapette to compare to your noid. It does look close.
Look at this seedling showing off with the placement of the flowers.

WOW - absolutely gorgeous blooms everyone!! I have been missing in action the past couple of weeks, so just catching up on everyone's posts. Don't have any clumps to post here although I still have a few blooming. The heat and humidity has been atrocious this week so I water late and make no attempt at pictures! I did add a few to my want list.......heck, it would be easier just to say I want one of all of them!!
Mike, do you remember Grapette (the drink)?? I have Little Grapette myself although mine isn't much of a clump yet ...... but I happen to live in the town where Grapette was created and produced. :)
Gingerjar - you obviously have a full shaker!! Can you send some of that salt down this way!
Hope everyone had a great rest of the week!

Nice blooms! That cheddar cheese is aptly named for sure!
I like your creative use of broken pots Iowhen!
Mipil, your bloom does look like Strawberry Candy and Not Elegant Candy.
Thanks Hemlady!!! I was thinking 'Strawberry Candy' has a bit of a darker edge and 'Elegant Candy' has a lighter color edge. Is that the only difference?
The wrong ID was my fault. The generous DGer that gave me the info got me in the right ballpark and made the judgement call based on a less than stellar photograph. I was very pleased and thankful to get that close.
Wow, that's totally different.
Very nice Cindy.
Thanks Mike!!!!
Gorgeous Mike! Have yours peaked yet? They sure look like they are loaded with blooms!
Genna we are past peak. We are rolling into the "golden years". LOL!
The golden years are exquisite...
LOL @ Robin!
