It will be an Opuntia in need of light on this forum also. Can't tell you a species.

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9b)

I think it is: Opuntia monacantha var. variegata

Waterford, NY(Zone 5b)

Thanks so much! It was just given to me. Any care suggestions? I just got it today, it is now on my southwest facing windowsill and it it extremely floppy.

Well, since our climate is very different I am not sure how well I can give you advice.

It needs a lot more sun as much as you can give it.
In summer it can probably live outside, but would need to be protected from excessive moisture/rain.
It does not really like the cold so it will have to be inside in the winter.

Baja California, Mexico(Zone 11)

That wall heater is off for the season? A plant in a clay pot will go dry faster than normal and especially so when heat is applied. :) The floppyness you observe may be related to water. Normally the plant is erect.

It should get hours of daily sun if it is going to live indoors.
