Fall Swap 2013- Sunday Sept 8
We'll miss ya'll, but we'll be suffering through 2 weeks on a Carolina beach. OR
What about having the swap there?
That date is good for me.
I won't know for a while -- wish I could be there!
I will make sure I can switch my work day from Sunday to Saturday.
Should not be a problem--if I do it in good time.
NOT gonna miss it--plus, I am responsible for (maybe) two new people
attending this Event. Karen and (I hope) THE Dr. O--(John) from PA.
Gita
Yay, it works for me!
Ric, are you offering to host a beach/swap party? ;)
I'm looking forward to it!
The beach also sounds good! :-)

Won't be able to attend, but thanks for the invite!
RSVP'ing with my official "Yes Please". When I get to work tomorrow I will mark the calendar for that day off. Wheeeee!!!!!!! < =D
THANK YOU SALLY!!!!!!!!!!
I will be there too!
Greenthumb and I plan to attend. Sounds like a wonderful day!
Sally, is it too early for the haves/wants thread?
Bummer!! You all have a great time. See you at critter's in October.

Let the games begin!
There is a schedule conflict on the 8th :o(, but things might change. If I cannot attend the swap, Sally, would you mind hosting my plants temporarily until I can come to pick them up? I will deliver to you the plants that I have for others before the swap.
That's my baby girl's 2nd birthday.... I haven't planned a party yet but I'm not able to say with 100% certainty that I can make this. :(
Will have to discuss this with The Hubs.
SO many regulars cannot make it....I am saddened.
G.
Sally, you had previously mentioned other dates as possible for you.
Perhaps a week later Sat or Sun 14 or 15 would work for typwc, Happy, Donner, Jan and catch Ric and Holly on their way home from the beach! And honest, even if it is closer to your BDay, we won't surprise you again although those yummy cakes would still be wecome food items, I'm sure!

Works for me!! And I will GLADLY repeat the cake! < =D
And Paul/UMD Terp can lead us in some other festive songs in between the Hat Parade!
Anyhow it will be fun to see all who can be there and miss all who can't and ferry/fairy plants around. And enjoy Sally's laid back style and yard where we all can be ourselves and thrive on each other's company til we meet again.
Happy, don't forget Chantell's 'soda bags' from the Spring swap!
Coleup -- I still have Chantell's 'soda bags' in the trunk of my car. I haven't made it to Virginia but if I do drive near her place, I'll delivery them. Otherwise I'll give them to her at the next swap she attends. She and I have dmailed about them -- she replaced them quickly so hasn't needed them.
Soda bags, plates and forks
and plants of all sorts
and seeds and bulbs
and ourselves of course
by turning, turning
we come round right
Simple Gifts Lyrics
Joseph Brackett (1797â1882)
Shaker dancing song
'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gain'd,
To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd,
To turn, turn will be our delight,
Till by turning, turning we come 'round right

With all due consideration for everyone's schedule- voting on dates is an option yes, but I hemmed and hawed and picked a day. Its working so far for ten people.
If we have a hurricane on Swap day the rain date can be the following weekend.
Or someone else can announce a pre/post Swap to catch the extras.
Yes, I am happy to babysit for plants that need early/late swapping here.
Okey dokey Sally... I do like to be as flexible and agreeable as possible, but I understand the need for a bit of "cement", as it were. Sept 8 sounds great to me still, and that is the date I will "put in for" when I go in to work tomorrow.
thanks speedie, and everybody, for understanding my methodology as it were....after all, I couldn't go to Jan's
8 ^O
I work every other Saturday and they don't like me taking Saturdays off. I wanted to schedule around that.
We had a blast on Casual Thursday, after all, and that was about ten.
Yes Ma'am, I understand about the weekend thing, as you well know... working in retail, they really want ya there on the weekends.
Is it too soon to start the "food" thread? (can you tell I'm hungry?) < =^0
Too soon for for the food thread? Heehee. Never!!
I'll be thinking of you all on the 8th, but plan to see some of you at critter's in October.
Will do my best. Should know better as the time gets closer...
You suuure are gonna be missed, Jan!! ='(
Awww. Shucks she says shuffling her foot. I'll be there in spirit.
Speedie is so right. And I had such a great time at your fall swap -- thanks again for hosting that.
We're gonna really miss everyone who can't make it...
We are going to miss all of you, too.
Well now I feel like a really big schmuck; obviously everyone who can't make it is really gonna be missed!!! I really need to learn to engage my brain before I open my big trap. < =x Garçon, MORE COFFEE PLEASE!!!
Speedie LOL
hahaha speedie
Yeah RIGHT Holly, think of us as you sit on that beach....
B ^D
I'll try to remember to toss a thought or two your way. LOL
Count me in. If critter can go, I'm sure we'll be riding over together :)
Yay! I'm missed you, Aspenhill! I'm glad to see you popping up!
