December Weather Christmas season already ?

Winter Springs, FL(Zone 9b)

Those are the kind of pic's I'm talking about. The #4 with the tire...that's great...I'd go out to take that shot, then go in and call in sick. Actually #5 would make me call in sick, 4 might make me walk a bit more around, love fresh snow...been a very very long time...let's put it this way I was not driving yet. ☺

Reached the 20s today but windchills stayed close to single digits. We will slowly warm up to 30s this weekend then drop back down again..

Mountain View, HI

Real sunshine for the first time in almost a week. Rain has backed off and now we just need things to dry out. Got into the 70s today.

I love those pics Juhur. Reminds me of my childhood in England and walking to school in shoulder high snow drifts (Age 10). Roads would run between hedgerows and wind would blow snow off the fields and fill in the roadway to the top of the hedges. English double decker buses did not handle icy roads well.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

54. windy, and chilly with rain off and on. I went out while it was sprinkling to uncover the plants, so they could get a drink of water, then washed and dried the sheets. It's supposed to get down to 34 tomorrow night. Not sure what the high is for tomorrow. We need to get the plastic up in the hut for our Makeshift Greenhouse. If Jan. is like Dec. we may not have that many cold days! But there is three more months until Spring! What to do, what to do?????

Happy New Year Everyone!

Reached low 30s for high here. Sun came out and started melting the ice a little bit this afternoon but the temps dropped back down pretty quickly so not much ice was melted.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9a)

Chilly night, but absolutely gorgeous day! Supposed to warm up and no more freezes until Friday!

The constant changes are hard on the body.....warm cold, warm cold. It does a job on the sinuses and headaches!

The pictures of the snow are absolutely beautiful, but I am very glad that it is you and not us! Several years ago we had snow in December......It actually stuck. It was pretty, but does a job on my tropical plants!

Hope everyone has a safe New Year's Eve!

A beautiful 24 degree, sunny day here. Storms have moved on, and is the snow ever bright with all that sun reflecting on it.
8 to 14 night time temps. makes me think of Sleigh rides , hayrides and the like...

Mountain View, HI

Light rain over night and early morning, sun just coming out at 11.00am and about 70f. Ground just won't dry out for gardening. Fair weather and light winds forecast until Monday nite then more frequent showers forecast but nothing heavy.

New years eve is fireworks, usually from 9pm to 1am. Local asian traditions with large strings of firecrackers, lots of noise and smoke in town neighborhoods. Streets covered in red paper by new year morning. Smoke and fire risk were concerns until Honolulu banned most fireworks on Oahu last year. They still allow the strings of firecrackers with a permit.
We still have them on the Big Island but very few in our neighborhood, not many homes. So pray for some showers to keep the fire risk down and wind to blow the smoke away.

Happy New year everyone.

Snow coming in overnight. Highs today in low 40s. Ground will still be warm at first so they are saying we will be dealing with icy roads too. Nice...NOT!!! Winter advisory starts at 6am and lasts til 6am Tues morning. Expecting up to 5 inches south of I-70.

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)

Weather liars lied again. Said snow would go south, it went north. Everyone would have snow by 6am. They were off by 2 hours and I was in a big bubble of no snow this morning for some time. It finally started snowing and been snowing off and on since. Not much accumulation til close to dark then it started sticking since the ground was getting cold enough finally. They are saying everyone will have close to 4 inches. I think those who were already getting snow this morning before me will get more. If I see 4 inches in the morning I will be suprised.

Birds loving the snow. Some pics taken thru dirty window. lol

Hey Jur and Pepper, thanks for the SNOW shots! So pretty, and look at that woodpecker in the cold snow. I have a whole family in my backyard and still haven't gotten a good shot of them yet.

Lewisville, TX(Zone 7b)

Can anyone say bbbbrrr!!! hahaha. We are having an unusual cold spell, with temps below normal! However, we do get cold temps just not this cold..which is in the 30-40 range now, but should be warmer!! I am not really complaining as I prefer cold to the heat but this cold?? NOT! hahahahaha

Hope everyone is well... I am undergoing health issues that have stumped a few doctors & 2 hospitals!!! Next step...a specialist!!! Otherwise I am hangin in there!!!

Anderson, IN(Zone 6a)
