Insecticide for houseplants, containing Bifenthrin?

Salem, MA

Dear Collective Wisdom,

I'm fighting spider mites on a needlepoint ivy plant. I've read that Bifenthrin is the most effective ingredient for treating spider mites, but I'm having trouble finding a houseplant insecticide that contains that ingredient. Can anyone recommend a product?

TIA,

Safer Insect Soap spray. Used on a regular basis does wonders. Does not stink up my house and does kill my fish.

gasrocks, do you mean does or does not kill your fish? Luciee {;^)

Does Not. Most any other insecticide says on the label - not safe near aquatic life. I can spray the plants on top of my aquarium even.

Thank you, I'll give it a try. I admit I was worried about the toxicity.

I only use 2 sprays on all my house plants. Safer Soap and 91% rubbing alcohol. If you have a plant that has a history of Spider Mites, give it a Safer spray on a regular basis. Stay ahead of the bugs. Here that would be Citrus trees, palms, Diffenbachia, some Philo., Papaya, Bananas, Figs.
