Has anyone heard of this? On a recent garden walk I saw a grass which was about 4 feet high with thin leaves and at the top was what I assume is a seed pod it was hard and had spikes all around and looked like a mace. The owner called it mace grass, but a search on Google for that only turned up Cattail so I was wondering if anyone was familiar with this grass and what its name really is?
Thanks in advence!

I was thinking the same,maybe a sedge.
Unfortunately I didn't take a picture! It did not look like any of the pictures on the link but I may have just seen the start of the seed pod growth!
