Annual Poppies #2

Southeastern, NH(Zone 5b)

I think most places don't allow leaf burning - we are allowed to burn "brush" only. However that does not stop people from doing it! The smell of burning leaves is gagging. I got horrible poison ivy when I was a child that puffed my face out beyond recognition, due to someone burning it.

Louisville, KY

All outdoors burning here without a permit has been illegal here for umpty ump years. The city picks up yard waste here every week.

I buy my compost from a local firm here for 10.00 per truck load , mulch for 15.00 per truck load and wood chips for 12.50 per truck load. My truck holds a 1/2 yard.

Some of the compost has been recycled from Churchill downs so you might say it is the compost of champions.

At that price that's as close to free as you can get. Looking forward to next years blooms.

'Time' I envy your top grade compost. I hate paying for peat and cow poo but not much choice.
