Wondering if anyone here has much experience germinating bamboo seeds. I have 15 Fargesia yunnanensis and 30 Phyllostachys pubescens seeds. I have tried to find out myself with not much luck and conflicting advice.
I appreciate any help. For all I know they may be as easy as sticking them in some good potting soil and watering.
Thanks, Kyle
Do bamboo seeds need special germination treatment?

there are several threads about seeds that you could ask questions there, you will need to sign up first.
Best of luck with your seeds.

Thanks, Jan. Good idea. Now if I can just find where I put them. :-x
A sterilized growing medium is important.
Pro-Mix BX works well.
Plant the seeds as soon as possible, they don't store very well.
I have had fresh seed give a high amount of germination, while seed that is more than a year old gave very few plants.
