Dear collective wisdom,
I just got a nice clump of Pennesitum 'Hamelin'. I'm about to make a plant label for it, and in looking it up I see that there are a lot of references to it spelled 'Hameln'. Does anybody know which one of these is correct?
Thanks,
M.
Nomenclature - fountain grass 'Hamelin'
I believe Hameln is correct. It's that way in Plant Files and the admins usually try to make sure that the correct/recognized name is there. Not a 100% guarantee, but I googled both spellings, and the sites that come up spelling it Hameln are all reputable nurseries, MOBOT, etc while the sites spelling it Hamelin tend to be more people's Flickr pages, blog/forum posts, etc and a few nurseries that I'm not as familiar with.
Thank you. That's what I'll put on my label.
