Well the weather has been really crummy here rain and snow or the other way around but that's petty compared to other places right now.
I was able to get a few photo's of a male Belted Kingfisher fishing and tolerating my presence at the same time. Usually these birds fly off but not this time.
He allowed me the opportunity to try for photo's of a dive...

Love the Kingfisher, Owl and meadowlark which looks far different from the larks we see, especially the beak! Looks stronger and longer.

Thank you all! I have a couple more images of the Short-eared Owl..nothing to write home about as far as quality..but there are 2 of them at the creek now. Unfortunately the weather and time have been working against me to get back out there. I did visit Ottawa NWR and have a couple of images from there.

From Ottawa...Tundra Swan...I had a nice long photo session with this bird...all the while Eastern Garter Snakes were passing over and around my boots. lol

Bufflehead Duck...I took photo's from my car (engine vibration) cost me with getting great photo's of this bird...but I have met someone and she is now my student and it was an introductory day in the field.
Bald Eagle flew over..
as did this Turkey Vulture...highlight of the Ottawa trip..calling in a White-breasted Nuthatch from the Black Swamp and have it land 3 ft in front of my new friend and student and return the call. Till next time.
