Pipe Creek Wildlife Area part 5
Ok so it finally happened...an extra close photo session with a Bald Eagle...
I took quite a few while it sat perched...of course I wanted shots of it taking off...
I never would have thought that a low light shot would be worthy of putting on my wall in my home..but this one is. Till next time.
Wow, Burd. They are brilliant images - each and every one of them. Congratulations on the first time shots of the Harrier and the close encounter with the Bald Eagle.
Nice on The Bald Eagle ... I love all the paterns on the B-W Teal...

This is my 2nd year into Pipe Creek...my field guide shows that they nest on northern lakes and marshes but more likely in Canada...but I do believe the creek and Lake Erie is a stopping point for many migrating birds heading north. Ive seen up to 8 males hanging around together females are present also. When these birds dive they stay under for quite some time. Ive been watching to see who is nest building so far I know that the Swan's and Geese nest here every year and I can add Wood duck's and Mallard's. Lots of birds come through the creek.
Awesome photos, every one of them Burd! Wow! I loved seeing the Horned Grebe in colors. Love the teal and the eagle photos are amazing-glad that last one made it to your wall. Wow again! Congratulations on the harrier-more great photos.
Excellent photos, once again, Burd. I'm sure activity will be picking up for you in the near future. I like your Blue-winged Teal photos. And, that last shot of the Bald Eagle is awesome.
