Thanks for thinking of me, poisondartfrog. That is exactly the plant that I am looking for. Love that orange color and it should attract the Monarchs.
Are they hard to start from seed?

Another plant that I am looking for seed from is "lychnis X haageana" Orange coloration.

Maxine

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

MAXINE I ALSO LIKE THAT PLANT & also this one .

thats fine with me =). I'll take them! lol

Erin

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

Does anyone have the Allium? I have been eyeballing the bulbs trying to justify buying them. LoL Does anyone have any experience growing them from seed? The Allium (ornamental onion I think) is supposed to keep the moles away. I heard Castor Bean plants do the same.

Morrisville, PA(Zone 6b)

Does anyone have peppermint seeds?

MARY

Nineveh, NY(Zone 5a)

I need something to keep the moles and voles away. I will have to look in to allium!

Athens, PA

I have not tried to grow allium from seed, however I do have both the allium flavum and the allium pulchellum seeds. Not sure if you can access my journal....http://davesgarden.com/tools/journal/viewbycat.php?cat=81254. Flavum and Pulchellum are the first two..... you are both welcome to the pulchellum and flavum seed.

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

Thanks Caroyn I have falling in love with the Allium ampeloprasum (Spanish Allium). I'm going to try those in the front yard and the Castor Bean plants in the back yard to see if I can keep the moles and chipmunks away.

Beaver Falls, PA(Zone 6a)

Has anyone tried to grow Allium from seed before? I don't grow any now, but it would be fun to try. I wonder how long it takes to get a blooming sized bulb from seed?

Linda

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

Linda,

I do not think they bloom the first year. From the information I read for Allium hardy to zone 5, they will be best winter sown. They need a stratification period.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

GM ALL
Just wanted to say I Have ALLIUM MT Everest SEEDS Not allot but will share a few to anyone who wants.
all my post from last evening went out to cyber space I guess .
sorry for that anyway .

Guess My INR Is getting back to the normal so i hope that I Can soon get back to normal :)

will check back in later you all have a great day .
susie

Everett, WA(Zone 8a)

Maxine, I labelled some Ace tomato seeds for you, and I'll be receiiving some "Tommy Toe" cherry tomatoes soon, from Holland.

Carolyn, I found some blue "Crystal Palce" Lobelia and labelled some for you.

Mary, I checked again and have VERY few orange Butterfly Weed seeds left, but there's 8-9 seeds in your envelope.

The mailing labels are all printed up, and a very nice secretary here showed me how to find pre-programmed Avery label templates in MS Word! Of course, that was AFTER I dislocated my shoulder from patting myself on the back for doing the same thing manually by adjusting margins and column and row sizes in a "table".

In MS Word 2003, the trick is:

position your cursor inside a table of addresses to print
load labels into the Bypass tray
Select from the menu:
Tools
Letters & Mailings
Envelopes & Labels
"Labels" tab
Options
Label Products: Avery Standard
Product Number: 5160
select how many rows and columns
hit "Print".

Now I know the easy way!

Corey

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

OK I Have been ask to MAKE A change in the flight pattern & It is DMTOM wanted to trade places with TXAGGIEGAL . so that has been done .

Say, would anyone want a bunch of sticky labels pre-printed with their home address? Now that I know how, and have a bunch of labels that Work was going to throw away, it would be easy to print 10 of each. The laser-printer means they won't run in the rain as ink-jet does. These labels are almost 1" x 2.5".

Corey

Western, WI(Zone 4a)

Corey, I would take some.

Maxine

Nineveh, NY(Zone 5a)

Sure, sounds good Corey! Thanks. =)
