Which is a part of the arrangement I made over the weekend with other lilies, callas, and gladiolas.
Lilies 2010
Terrific colors and beautiful lilies: what a nice way to start another hot day.
Wonderful Lily show everyone! Love those group shots Donna and jmorth!
Pirl, I'm concerned that the one you posted here:
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7942964
...may be virused? Did any of the other blooms show that color streaking? With most Lilies its fairly easy to tell, but I find OTs difficult sometimes- some have color streaking naturally.
Neal - I'll go check it and take photos of the foliage and check on the color streaking. Thanks for the tip.
What a wonderful way to begin a morning...browsing all your wonderful blooms:)) Babette, here is Rio Negro that I got from you. Man, has it made me happy!
tggfisk, your lily are so pretty.do you trade them?
Thanks! I haven't yet, but may be tempted at some point. Both of these posted are first year, so they would not be ready at this time.
Bev,
The Rio Negro looks stunning!
Now you have me soOOOooo anxious to see mine! LOL.
Thanks for posting the blooms! :)
Pirl, don't you just love Maywood! The bloom shape is so elegant, and I love the touch of green showing in the center. Mine were deeper pink last year due to a cool summer, but I'm still very much enjoying their pastel hues in this years heat. They've more than doubled in height and bloom count in their 2nd year.
Ooohhh, what a striking photo! It really shows off that porcelain quality they have! We had cooler weather when the 2nd wave of blooms started opening on Maywood, and those blooms were a deeper pink. Now its back to temps in the mid 90s. The latest blooms to open have only displayed the lightest blush of pink.
This is one of my favorite OTs, 'American Journey'. I believe its the "red-est" Lily I have.
Neal - fabulous color harmony with the yellow in the lily, which is great, and all the flowers in the background. Should be a magazine cover.
It's pretty to see pink, blush, and creamy green blooms all on the same stem! Ramona (Faraway) carries some glorious OTs, I think I just told her I wanted one of each of her yellows and whites, for a custom mix. The tallest reached 7' this year!
Seems a lot of the pink OTs are temperature sensitive when it comes to depth of color, but this one is richly colored regardless of temperatures. It's 'Robina', and has completely won me over! The white star in the center makes it extra striking to me.
Thanks, Pirl, 'American Journey' is very photogenic indeed! I moved them to my bed of salsa colors this spring, and am really happy with the results. This fall 'Shocking' and another of the American series I can't recall the name of (that looks very similar to Shocking) are going to join American Journey in the salsa bed.
This is 'Montego Bay'
