Wow! (I'm running out of explatives--please forgive me). Marna, what's all in that "bait station" please, please share the recipe.
LOL Kim, that bait station is only rotting melon. I bought two melons, a seedless watermelon, which was yummy, and an Athena Cantaloupe. It was not so good, so I set it out for the butterflies. Now that it is rotting, they are loving it. It was good that I had some because I have not made some brew in a while. The rest is just some watermelon rind. you can put out bananas too. I've also had some luck with pears.
Do you have another pix of that one, Nanny?

oh yah! ha.
Hey shelia, all the red admirals are up at my house! I chuckle every day (when they are landing on me and letting my walk right by them) at how I only saw a couple last year and had such a hard time photographing them.
Can't get photos to load right now for some reason.....will try later.
Those Pearl Crescents are so cute.
tlc.....the first two pics are the hackberry emperor.
the next is a skipper maybe a cloudywing.
the three dark butterflies would be Blk ST, or Pipevine ST...but you may not get a definate id from a on-the-wing shot. The last could be a pipevine on the bottle.
The little one on yellow is a skipper but they are way too hard to identify for me.
The final two are what appears to be Tiger STs. I know you said orange but I am not seeing it. If it was indeed orange then it is more likely a Gulf Frit.
I know it is hard with a new camera to be patient and wait for the shot, but you will be more satisifed with your efforts if you do.
The hackberry emperors and the close up of the dark colored skipper is super good shots!!
We saw a Silver spotted skipper lay eggs on the Texas wisteria right in front of us the other day.
YAY......My BST eggs have hatched!
Hey Sheila:
Your first skipper is a female Sachem (Atalopedes campestris). The third skipper is a Eufala Skipper (Lerodea eufala).

Congrats Nanny, I had a monarch egg hatch today too. Probably more, but I have to look.
Good going TLC!
