Saxifraga sancta var. macedonica - this one in a back yard trough is finally blooming. One in a trough in our south-facing front yard was in bloom some time ago, but is so rabbit-munched that I hesitate to show it! (Darn rabbits have suddenly gotten rather exotic in their tastes, the last couple of years!)

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention it... very nice troughs, Tammy!

Erythronium dens-canis - I have two little clumps of it that took forever to start to bloom. It was a minor tragedy this year when 2 buds got knocked off the other plant (starting from only 6 total)... acckk!

Rick, I love that orostachys....I ordered one two years ago but ended up with O. minuta which has the tiniest rosettes...lost in the garden.

An interesting (and beautiful) variegation pattern on the Anemone. Is it normal for the species, or do you have a special one?

Rick

Hi Rick,

It's true that this foliage is charming. I think it is normal for this species.
According to plant guide, young leaves are fit to eat. I don't want to eat them though....

White Aquilegia flabellata var. pumila is blooming:)

My flabellata are not even showing buds yet!

Actually, those leaves do look scrumptious, and would add some nice color to a salad. I wonder what Chef Wolfgang Puck would pay for them ...
