Sedum Angelina Question

London, United Kingdom

Messing about with some ground cover cuttings. The stems have gone red compared to the original ground cover which have maintained their bright yellow appearance.. Is that a consequence of less water uptake?

Thanks for any replies.

WOW Plantfiles has really changed its name to Petrosedum rupestre subsp. rupestre. Not sure PlantFiles is even correct.

But if you click thru you can see how red it can get.

https://hinsdalenurseries.com/products/angelina-sedum/ gives reasons for its color changes.

Thanks for that. Still leaves me a bit puzzled as the original ground cover has never developed a red tinge (would be happy if it did) despite winter temps hitting -7C / 19.4F.

I wonder if you have a similar looking sedum but not Angelina. I do not feel feel like looking at a bunch of sedums right now but maybe later if no one has stepped up and you still cannot find it.

There are so many sedums and so many are used in hybridizing them so they can look somewhat similar but not have all its parent's traits.

Soil. This plant prefers a well-draining soil with a neutral pH. It does well in sandy and gravelly soils that aren't very fertile. Its roots are shallow, but they can spread through small crevices in rocky terrain.
