These are some OT's I am looking at.
Its a nice time to dream of lilies.
These are my currant wish list.

where is pittsford?i'm originaly from albany
Its a suburb of Rochester 4 hours from Albany.
OK, I GOT IT. THANKS
I just ordered a couple of new ones from the B&D site - OT's - Soul Dance and Time Zone - and then I went back and ordered Hacienda, Flashpoint, and more Candy Club (I already have that last one and it is excellent)!

I like B&D I almost quit them 3 years ago. They couldnt get anything right, but made it good.
This summer I ordered DL's from their half off sale. The fans were huge. They said they were selling out a large number of their DL's.They even tossed in a couple of un named lily bulbs. I cant wait to see what they are.
Ice Caves was my must have for this year. Although after Judith Freeman gave Tracey the picture of Opulent, I really think I need one. Just one at that price. But it's gorgeous!
I am checking out Opulent.
I've got a bunch I installed in fall that coming up this spring that are new to me and I'm excited about it. Since they've never bloomed, except for Sorbonne, I almost feel as though they are newly planted. Several are from B&D.
Champagne
Hiawatha
Red Alert
Halifax
Acapulco
Prince's Promise
Pink Ribbons (actually in the fridge in the basement)
I also have a Sorbonne in a pot that may go in to the ground or may be move to another pot (thanks Steve!)
And lastly, I started, in January of 2009, some lilium candidum 'Cascade Strain' from seed contributed by the late, great Ed McRae. It's supposed to be particularly disease resistant. They have become incredibly expensive to buy, and they are so fragile, so I figured what the heck. They were a bit small Iast fall so I held them over, and they've been growing all winter. I wasn't sure what to do with them - when to plant out - but got great guidance from Buggy (Lisa) and Tracey. Turns out that Lisa keeps them going all winter, and doesn't force them into dormancy in spring for plantiing out. So I'm putting them in the ground this fall. I'm not quite sure I would have started them if I had realized that seed to bloom would be so long (bloom date, spring of 2011) but if it works I will have something fabulous to grow and possibly give to others. It's beome a bit of a saga - but what fun!
I've got to say that these forums have really expanded what I grow. It's really exciting to see what everyone else is doing and STRETCH a bit. Fabulous!

Yeaaaaa Donna
I am on the same page with expanded garden vision. I was freed from angst about plants when I was told about the small footprint lilies take up in the garden.
I also have a new narrow spade that will do double duty planting lily bulbs as singles between hostas and astilbes.
I also have bulbs in pots in the garage Acapulco, and Linda.Pirl told me about potting and keeping over winter.
There is a huge load coming in April.
OOOHHHH
What's coming in April? I must be becoming an addict because I actually enjoy planting. So I'd love to know so I can get my "fix" from you.

Lordy, I don't envy you come planting time...... but your garden will be fantastic.
That's fabulous. Thank you for taking the time to print them all. All of mine are in sets of three. But many years ago I ordered 12 Casa Blancas, 6 Artistics and 5 Regales, not knowing how many that was. I have since spread, particularly the Casa Blancas, all over my garden. It helps to unite it. I also learned that CB is as close as indestructible as an oriental lily can be. I think of it as a great classic - the Festiva Maxima of lilies.
And, you know, one gets inventive. A darling person gave me six peonies when I thought I was maxed out, and I found room for every one. Just like the gift of six perennial geraniums from another sweet person. They all found homes in front of my roses. These were in response to some very small gifts of lily bulbs.
What an adventure you'll have. And remember - there are always pots!
Donna
Those were just a few of many.I didnt list the Tiny series from Lily Nook
Oh, would you put those in pots?
In terms of pure wishes:
Speciosum Uchida
Longidragon (had it once, and it's become rare)
And maybe that decadent Auruatum Platyphyllum
Well, I still looking for Tetra's. I have purchased a few from businesses that saw my request here on Daves, but still looking for more.
Did you look at The Lily Garden? They have quite a few. The Ice Caves I'm getting is a tetraploid.
I love that Judith lists all of the tetras and she has a very nice selection. If you happened to be in the Pacific Northwest Lily Society, you could even get many of them at discounted prices during their sales.
'Ice Caves' is gorgeous and it is a strain, so they will be similar to what is pictured, but may not be exactly the same. Whereas 'Opulent' is a clone and gorgeous at that. Can't go wrong with either, in fact I'll take one of each. Lol.
I just got my notice that I was a member. I'll be watching for the sales.
Well, one of each will about be it for those two.
These are thenew lilies that will bloom here this summer. I might have missed 10 or so.Picasa doesnt load the file names just the images and many lilies look alike to me.

I was drooling over the Midsummer’s Eve in the connisseiurs section at the Lily Garden site. It just really appeals to me. Love the color. But having been burnt last year with purple bulbs that were not the color claimed, I am afraid to risk paying so much to be dissapointed.
"But having been burnt last year with purple bulbs that were not the color claimed, I am afraid to risk paying so much to be dissapointed. "
I think that should be tatooed on every gardener
I'll second that!!!
So many were not true to name: glad I didn't have to pay for them.
The errors I've come regard the online places who make the lilies so much darker than they are. When there is no background of leaves it's difficult to tell that they've been playing with Photoshop and we will never get that color here in the northeast. It's a great way to lose customers.
I've ordered 107 for this year (with another 18 possibilities) and most I've seen in bloom so I know what to expect.
If the bulb is not as marked, if you contact the Lily Garden, she will replace it for you. From personal experience I know this to be true. I just emailed her right when it bloomed and a replacement came the next weather appropriate planting time. I have to be honest, whenever she has been wrong in sending something, what she does send is beautiful, so as much as it upset me, it was really like getting better than two for one.
'Midsummer's Eve' is beautiful in person! It's one of those bred from a North lily, which have great garden substance. Love those turks capped looking lilies. They always put on such a nice show.
The lilies Pirl is speaking of were some very inexpensive lilies I obtained from a wholesaler, where I buy them wholesale for pot sales. I offered to contact the wholesaler about the two she told me were mislabeled, and was told not to bother as she loved them. So, I did not, unfortunately.
Any company can make mistakes. Certainly we must allow them the chance to make it right,
I know it's a pain to plant them and have them turn out wrong. But many companies, US and Canada buy some of their lilies from the wholesalers, especially the one these lilies came from. So it can happen that you get a wrongly named lily. Even with their own stock, it can happen.
So, please, if anyone gets wrongly named lilies, and the company appears to be a decent one, on the up and up, give them the chance to make it right before complaining publicly about them.
The Pacific Northwest Lily Society sent me its spring bulb order form a few days ago. There are a ton if choices, and the prices are great!.
Yes, they are!
I joined this year, and have already sent in my order, wonderful bulbs from wonderful places at wonderful prices.
Those of you that have ordered from the PNWL sale, do they normally run out of bulbs? I saw you could email your order in, and then mail a check. I considered doing that, but didn't want to be hoggy. Especially since this is my first year.

The bulbs I bought from the Lily Garden were true to name and of very good quality and size. Also very generous bonus bulbs. Its just that I bought ones called Midnight advertised as deep rich purple. I also bought Purple Price from VB Wholesale advertised as deep purple. Both had pictures of dark purple blooms.
HA!!! These things were both more of a medium pale rose color. What a crock about them being purple. They are true to name, just wrongly advertised as purple.
I do love that picture of Midsummer’s Eve on the Lily Garden Website. They don't call it purple in their description, just deep rose and the spots and color look divine. Maybe I will get it. Will have to see.
If they run out of bulbs they will substitute with a bulb of equal or more value. Usually there are extra unsold ones that are sold at the meeting.
Midnight is a strain, Rita. So you are going to get variability. Someone posted a picture of it that was quite dark. So keep in mind when buying a lily to check and see if it says they are 'strains'.
Also, I would suppose the colors in the Pacific Northwest are much more vivid than in NY. Pard could tell us about that.
But The Lily Garden is a fantastic place to buy from. Judith is a wonderful lady. I've purchased wholesale from her for close to 10 years, with absolutely no problems. I can't recommend her highly enough. So don't give up on the company.
Oh, and thank you, Pard. I hadn't noticed you responded to me about the lily sale. Subs will certainly be fine for me, as I'm sure I won't have them.

I have seen too many postings of light colored "Midnights". I don't think climate would make that much difference. My Midnight from the Lily Pad (Olympia WA) is also very light.
Next time the group visits the fields I want to check it out. I was going to do it a few years ago when Symposium was held there but it was just too hot to spend much time in the fields. I only got the Asiatics covered then returned to my truck to take in some air conditioning :-(
Actually I'm hoping they do it at Maks this year. Their orientals are to die for!
Yes, tell me about it. I saw a preview of them on the MAK website, and when I asked to order, they weren't available yet. That NOID MAK aurelian you posted, I really want one of.
But I can wait.
