I'm not sure if anyone here is close enough to Phoenix but I've posted the following in a few forums this morning to try to help my son find a home for Joey. I think Caleb would probably drive a few hours if he could find a home for Joey:
My son lives in Phoenix and for the past couple of years has been on his own personal mission to rescue and find homes for stray cats. Although he's adopted many of them himself (up to 6 now!) he's having a difficult time finding a home for Joey - isn't he beautiful? He's trying a new approach and has developed a website to find a home for Joey: http://adoptjoeythecat.com/. I'm trying to help him and am posting the site anywhere I can think of to reach as many people as possible. If you're interested or know anyone who might be, please contact him through the website. FYI, I think he made a mistake though, he probably meant to say that "vehicle travel is (NOT) out of the question"! I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to travel as long as the distance is reasonable :)
Adopt Joey The Cat
maybe he can work with Alley Cat Allies or start a Phoenix chapter of the Alley Cat Alliance

Thank you! I'll pass along the information. I know he became really frustrated with whatever society he had been working with and that's why he's taken on his own "personal" mission. Sometimes he's overwhelmed with the responsibilities but he's doing a great job regardless :)
Did you post this on the SW Gardening Forum? Lots of good animal lovers there... and lots from the Phoenix area.
Now Brenda, if you spent more time on the SW Forum you would know that it was posted there - lol...
Did Joey ever find a home?
LOL, I suppose you're right, Kelly! Since being away last week I feel like I can't catch up with everything! Hoping Joey found a new home!
LOL, I posted it everywhere I could think of that might be appropriate! No "new" home yet but I know my son's taking good care of him :) He's had a lot of interest, just no one coming forward to actually take him home.
Oh I hope he finds a new home soon. He is a beautiful cat! And kudos to your son - he has a big heart!
