Hi, all! Look at my little guy! I rescued him from the compost heap; he was all leaves--but I know a zinnia sprout when I see one--it had sprouted at the end of fall. Not good--this is Delaware, and zinnias are finished outdoors in Delaware by Oct-Nov. AND--a snowstorm is supposed to hit us tonight.
I didn't want him to die out there. So I brought him inside. He's been getting lots of fluorescent and natural light. This is the first time ever that I cared for a plant out of season, as if I had a greenhouse. (Well, my hubby thinks I have transformed the people house into a greenhouse.)
I feel a little bit like a Texan or Floridian now ... I have a zinnia in bloom at Christmastime. Gosh.

Brava!!! Keep your zinnia cool and humid, and it should thrive for you! I hope that it's a variety that stays on the small side!

AWESOME! Good job!
Awww....Pretty flower! Great growing!
Love the macro-shot. This is probably the way bumble-bees and butterflies see zinnias!
