Hi all, I am new here but could not resist this thread when I saw it. I love the poems you all have written so far. I think I would like to try my hand at writing one. Have to put it together first.

I heard a car
Go by the house.
I sit by the window and dream
Of them coming home.
My family is late.
I cannot sleep without them.
I cannot eat. I am thirsty but
I will not drink
Until they are home.
Safe.
Safe with me.

Another car.
Is it them?
No. I am lonely.

I hear no sounds and wait.
I think of their faces watching me
As I have come home.
They have waited for me and
Welcomed me with hugs and kisses.

There is snow outside.
Snow
And lights
And pretty trees in the house around us.

There is a tree here, too.
It smells of Heaven.
It smells of Home
And Love.

It that them?
It is!
They are home and I am happy again.
I greet them at the door
As they enter.

They bend down and pick me up
And pet me, cuddle me,
Tell me I am loved.

They say it is Christmas.
I say it is Home.

awww. that reminds me of my doggie boy, he waits in a wingback chair in the living room, and watches out the window for me when I am gone.

Thanks, everyone. Whenever we come home, my DH and I are greeted by little kitty faces peeking through the curtains. Then, when we get to the garage door, they are at the door waiting. It's so cute.

Moon can't help the barking, it is her nature. "Moonhowl."

She can bark all she likes. ^_^

She bites, too, on occasion. But very nicely.

maybe she's just hungry.

Since hanging with you and Dixie I am always hungry....grin and Smiley and you are always making goodies....what is a howler to do?

I'm hungry right now! That teeny tiny box of chocolates did nothing to fill me up!
