Lily slide show 2009

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Absolutely beautiful! I saw many I loved. Will you share your sources if I ask about some of them?

Who needs companion plants with lilies that beautiful, LOL.

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

What a great New Year's gift! I didn't know you had so many peonies. I ended up adding 13 lilies to my wish list. Sure does make my work night go faster when I have something to look at.

Thanks,
Susan

i just looked at lilies again and recognised some of the hew ones I just planted this afll. I was thrilled to see other pictures of Sharazaahd,Tiger babies,Samure,Elise, and Black dragon.
Purple Prince is going to be a dissapointment to me if your pic is accurate, I will wish I had planted Landini instead as PP isnt really purple enough.Ahhhhhh well.
I also want Indian summer and Lady Alice which I ordered from B&B and Lady was a totally different flower. I like what came up but Alice would have been better.
Thats garden life for you B&B made good on the bulbs so it wasnt a total loss

Awesome is a Buggy Crazy bulb. Many of the ones that are not common are likely from Canada. I seldom buy from the big bulb companies, more the small operations or lily society sales in the US and Canada.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Who do you buy from in Canada? You just have so many unique ones.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks, magnolialover!

Lily Nook, PLantlilies. The cost to bring them in (due to the Phyto, plant inspection) is high though. There have been times I just couldn't help myself though.

There are plenty here in the US that are wonderful too. Certainly many of my favorites come from here too!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Just ordered these from B&D Snoweycreek.
I have to stop talking to you guys.
I'm lily crazy and its January.

It appears the phyto is 15.00 at both of the Canada sources, and on a larger order that's not bad. Thanks much!

And of course, there are many great places in the US. I plan on buying from Buggy Crazy next year. Crossing my fingers she's still in business. But I did see some of yours that I've never seen in the US catalogues.

Is there any comprehensive book on lilies, up to date, with lots of pictures?

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm counting on Lisas compulsion to farm.
Altho I realize there will probably be an end to her business in the future.
I will definatly order this spring.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Me too. Maybe with some new people ordering, plus all the old friends, we will force her to keep on keeping on.

I just love seeing lilies grown in "clumps". They look so nice in three's or more! Nice job!

Well, I thought I wasn't going to bust my budget this year. Now youve done it Susan...beautiful slide show.

Susan...that was just lovely!

The wonderful thing about Lilies ,you can plant them anywhere .
They take up so little space.
Sorry about the wrong picture
Before everyone goes nuts trying to figure this picture out.
Its a Photoshop cut an paste of the lilies just planted in October.I do this so I can see how the colors work. There are others on that row but I didnt paste them. The White Henriis and the NOID whites are there, the darker large ones are a pic.

I hear ya:) I got some amazing sized bulbs from Buggy last month. Actually was able to get them in thanks to the fact that she watched the weather for me and sent them accordingly. So...I am really, really ready for blooms, too. Some of my favorites from past orders have been Stunning-your pics of it are wonderful-and Lavender Gem. Gotta love those spots. Your pics make me want more of the 'butterfly' type ones.
