Can anyone ID this bamboo?

New York, NY

It's doing very well along a street in NYC. Curious as to which variety it is. I will post in plant ID as well.

thanks.

Can you show a close-up of the culms & branches? How tall is the bamboo; what is the diameter of the culms?

Need to see a close-up of the braches right were they come off of the culms.

I will try to get a better photo this week.

Here are some close ups. I had to use my phone so they aren't perfect.

Culms were about six feet tall, 1/4" diameter. They ranged from green to black but mostly black. They've been there at least three years that I can remember. The business opened around six years ago so they could have been there the whole time.

Drat! I was perusing identification pages. I'm sorry your post
has been unanswered. Have you had any luck?

Looks like phyllostachys nigra (aka "black bamboo") to me. New culms are green; they turn black over the course of the first couple of years.
