What's this?

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 5b)

This houseplant is in the home of a friend of mine.
She has no idea what it's called and I'd like to search around for one.
Can anyone tell me the name?

THANKS!

I have had mine for about 3 years now and it has suffered from neglect. It comes back beautifully though. I just bought another one today.

I have one to...i love it....when i forget to water it and then do water it...it just comes back as beautiful as ever.

Ditto on the love it! I have one too. :)

I have two. When it puts up a seedhead, let it dry, and then crumble the seeds into the soil. Soon you'll have a lot of baby Fireflashes! They're cute in the pot, all around the base of the mother.

Oh that's a fantastic plus!
Thanks for mentioning that!
Maybe I can get some seeds from my friend's plant that sparked my whole question!

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

As with other Chlorophytums, this guy is sensitive to fluoride in the water. It'll burn the edges of the leaves.

Also a good bit of info, phaleo!
I always use "rested" water to water my indoor plants, but now I know to tell other people it's important for this particular plant.

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

Rested water huh, that must mean that you leave yours out for 24 hours or more.

Yep.
I have fishies, too, so it's a good habit.
