So pretty.
For the love of Purpurea
Ronnie - You do have a lovely assortment of I. purpureas! Love that Milky Way. I got a sport of Joyce Cobb that looked similar. Interesting how a white bloom can come from a cultivar of color!
Question: Is rebecca an I. nil or an I. Purpurea?
Debra it's a Purpurea.
cool i love the purple ones Ronnie. somehow this season i havent seen a purple on yet in my garden.
i usually have star of yelta out there somewhere

Nice GP!!
Thanks Ronnie, I love your a.m. shot above.......beautiful! I lived in the Philadelphia area (Marlton, NJ) before moving south in 1975.
Debra this pic is great! http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6878513
Ronnie, I love this one: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6879138
hope you get a nice big fat pod from it..
I pollinated Rebecca with your Blue / Lavender.. hope to see a pod for us..
Oh love those reddish ones!!
I love them all. a great thread Ronnie.
Ronnie, I'm still waiting on my Light blue Star which is the
Sydney look alike.Wish I could remember what Caprice looks like
Wonder if it's almost identical to Sydney?
Jackie from what I remember in pictures I think "Caprice" and "Sydney"
are one in the same.
I think so too Ronnie, thanks. Some of the lovely blue purps
you have posted are probably Sydney and/or Caprice
Debra - I hope you get lots of seeds from this one: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6884671! Was this a morning shot or an afternoon photo?
Ronnie - This is an outstanding photo: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6879126 Love the contrast between the two blooms! And the detail showing up is so sharp! Great shot! Another two photos I liked: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6879136 and http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6879129 (I would love to trade you some seeds for this one)!
WOW! You got a solid I. purpurea bloom!? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6879138 That's really something! I hope you tagged that one!
Can't wait to see the Sydney blooms! Bring em on! :-)
Thank you Becky!! I am doing my best to keep them tagged. They are such a tangled mess. I like the solid one too!
I have lots more pictures I just have to get them cleaned up a bit. I am so happy with them this year!!
Ronnie - How many different I. purpurea vines are you growing this year? They are all growing together in an area of your yard?
Hi Becky, that was a morning shot and right next to it was a magenta/purple rebecca type.. this bloom was from seed from Karen ( BlueSpiral) tagged "rebecca' and part of an I. purpurea mix she sent me. The Rebecca on the south side fence is from Emma, the north side fence Karen. I tagged that bloom for us.
Have seed pods from these two almost ready.
Becky so far I have seen 5 different flowers, all growing together or close and all volunteers for the past 3 years. I think that's why there is such a variety of colors. Some I am tagging and then toward the end I will collect a mix for anyone that wants some. I wish I had been more diligent earlier in the spring and thinned them out more but I was too busy. They are now a bit out of hand but I am enjoying them so much I don't mind! My husband is building a swing set for my granddaughters and I am envisioning it covered next year!! LOL
Ronnie, I would love a mix of your purpurea's.Sending you a
dmail.
Most definitely Jackie!!
Thanks Ronnie. Your's have been really special this year.
Love the color.
Ronnie - OMG!!! Please put me down for seeds of this one: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6894550 I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors of those blooms! WOW! I think my hummer would like them too! :-) They are beautiful! Great shot! You need to give that one a name! Seriously. It looks like a cross and is probably a NOID ... but it deserves a righteous name!
I have to agree with Jackie - Your I. purpurea vines have been truly wonderful this year!
Debra - Thanks for tagging the bloom! I hope it does what these blooms do best (beside showing off! lol) and produces some nice seed pods! Fingers crossed! XXX
Gotcha Becky I am hoping that one stays a bit true I love it!!
