Green/shade houses have a lot of advantages. I've got a few Licuala grandis that really get too much sun. That's the problem with using trees for canopy. Being close to the equator means that through the year the sun moves right across the sky, there's no consistently shaded sides to trees.

Licuala wah growing near my dam, and in my dam during the wet season. Makes the sprinkler look a bit redundant.
