My Bamboo was getting out of control last year so I dug a trench and put in a barrier. But this morning I was outside looking at some large pots containing house plants, and there were thick Bamboo shoots emerging!!!!!! (These pots are about 5 ft away from the main clump). I did not realize that this was possible. What is the point of a barrier, which is always recommended for a runner like mine, if it can spread through the air????
Please help as I am apoplectic with worry.

Question re Bamboo propagation: Help !
I keep all my bamboo in big plastic pots but they do dry out to quickly. Ive never had them spread. Do you think it was from the seed blowing? Have they ever seeded?
How deep is your barrier and what species are you trying to contain?
I feel like such a dunce! What looked exactly like a new bamboo shoot emerging was a shoot from the plant that I had growing in the pot. This plant must be a relative of boo!
