I have two identical Nandinas (Heavenly Bamboo). One has foliage from the ground up and the other has lost all the lower foliage.
Any ideas what caused it and more importantly, what can I do about it?
Heavenly Bamboo loosing leaves
Were there any symptoms before the leaves fell off, like turning yellow or getting spots on them or looking all crispy around the edges? If it was an insect or cultural issue like too much/too little water, I would expect you would have seen some symptoms. If you've got some of those symptoms on the leaves that are left at the top, it would help if you could post some pictures of those.
I will also add that contrary to its common name, heavenly bamboo is not a bamboo, so you might consider posting this in the Trees & Shrubs forum or Garden Pests & Diseases instead.
Is it getting enough water? Nandina needs a moist well drained soil.
