North Augusta, ON

Beautiful! Are they still in their pots?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

About 50% still are,the larger ones were removed, because they will need to be root pruned come this fall when returning to there containers.
Some are planted in the ground, still in there pots, these usually are the ones that don't need to be repotted as they were done last year!

Hi Tropicman, nice plant's! What exactly "tropical" do you leave in the ground in your area year around?

Bushland, TX(Zone 6a)

Hardy orange ,lemon, crinums, bananas and a palm, but it has protection with rope Xmas lights.
I wish they were more, getting to old to carry those big plants in and out!

Hi Tropicman, I think what you do is called "labor of Love".

If you do not mind can you tell me what other type of Banana's you are able to grow out door's year around other than the Musa Basjoo and Musella if any?

Thank's much

Hi Rachel,
Those are the only 2 that are hardy here, that I have found, but I thin k if you can keep the ground from freezing and dry,I think any zone 8 banana would make it,I haven't tried, but I think it would work,Raja puri and orincco would be the best bet,or even a ensete variety might as well.

Thank's much Tropicman.

Rachel
