Comments regarding Pepper Joe's Inc.

Ordering process/payment leaves a bit to be desired; had a bit of a hiccup redirecting back to the site after paypal payment.

That said, they have fantastic customer service, reasonable pricing and very fast shipping. Answered my questions within a day or less with straight and to the point replies. Order reported shipped Saturday and was delivered Sunday to my parents place in Arkansas. And who doesn't like free seeds?!

Totally recommend and will definitely order again.

my friend called it "Jason's fire garden!" I grew the moruga scorpion, cayenne, Sapporo, takanotsume, lemon drop, and big thai/ kung pao peppers all with great success.

Last year I decided to attempt to grow my own chillies.
As a novice grower in the UK, i had a couple of questions regarding growing - which were answered promptly.
I cannot fault the service, or the quality of the seeds - all of which germinated, and now i have so many chillies i dont know what to do with them!
I would recommend Pepper Joes to anyone who takes their chillies seriously - he certainly does!

I have been ordering peppers from Pepper Joe's for a number of years. I have moved around a lot so do not have an established garden area which means each season is a little different in where I am planting. Still, I have had good experiences with the seeds I received.
I have even planted seeds that I had not used the year before, and except for some Bhut seeds that did not germinate, (this is a year after I got the seeds) they others all did great.
I have emailed Pepper Joe a few times and he has always responded with good advice.
Bottom line is that I will continue to exclusively buy my pepper seeds from Pepper Joe!

PS....Joe, if you are reading this you probably know this, but when I sent an email to your contact email address at the bottom of your site I received a reply to send an email to a different one to contact you. Thank you for your quick response though.

Called PepperJoes and left a message.
Penny called the very next day and took my order n'junk.
Received the seeds a week later.

The first year I started growing I got seeds from pepper joes and had great results. My second year I decided to save money and went through some cheaper site's. This was a bad idea I received all the wrong plants and seeds. This year I went back to pepper joes and couldn't be happier. My germination rate was almost 100 percent. All were the correct plants. I choose to grow the reaper. I cant say enough about this pepper. The heat level was what I expected and the taste is by far the best of any super hot I have had . Needless to say I will not be going thru anyone else but pepper joe. thanks again for the great seeds.

This is my first experience growing anything. I love spicy food especially hot peppers but the variety of fresh hot peppers in my area is very limited. I decided to try to grow my own.

When I visited pepper joes website I was overwhelmed with the variety of peppers they had to offer. It was fantastic. I ended up choosing 16 different varieties. The website is very user friendly and informative. I emailed customer service because I made a typo in my ordering process and they responded right away and corrected the issue. I received my package promptly. When I received my packaged everything was packed neatly and well organized. I was impressed.

Being a new grower i needed some help and advice getting started. Pepper joes website had all the information i needed to get excellent results. Pepper joes also sends out informative emails ever once in a while suggesting things, reminding us of seasonal changes, and even showing us how to use our peppers.Once again, I was very impressed.

When growing my peppers I had excellent germination rates near 100%. I used a heat mat and one of the seed starting kits. All the seeds ended up being what they where supposed to be. I had to grow everything in containers in a short grow season and everything produced very well.

I emailed and sent some pictures to pepper joes to thank them. I did not expect them to respond but both customers service and pepper joe himself took the time to write me back. That's unheard of in this day and age.

Overall, I was very pleased with pepper joes from start to finish. They offer an excellent product, have great customer service, and do everything in their power to make you a successfully gardener. They really care that you have success. They could just sell you the seeds and be done with you but they don't they are with you every step of the way.

Purchased the Box of Dynamite seed bundle as well as other single packs. Great germination rate. My Brain Strain, Ghost and Carolina Reapers are all 4' to 5' high and still growing.

We ordered hot pepper seeds from Pepper Joes about two years ago 2011. We couldn't plant them due to a house relocation. We planted the seeds this spring 2013 and they did great. We have a huge abundance of many different kinds of hot peppers. Most of our variety of plants you can't get in our area. We are very pleased with Pepper Joes customer service and quality of seeds. This is our first time growning plants from seed and we were very happy with the germination rate. We will buy our hot pepper seeds again from them for the next growing season.

First year doing business & nothing but positive things to say. All 8 peppers seed types plus bonus seeds were near 100% germination. Seeds arrived quickly, and a second batch even more so when 1/3 were wiped out by a late freak cold snap in June. Plants are thriving, and producing abundantly. Nothing yet on taste, but a few immature fruits tried seemed promising. I have had good response both by email and social networking sites. No complaints, and will certainly be ordering again.

With every order you get a surprise, free seeds random peppers I've never tried. It can be scary buying seed online you never now if you get what you paid for. Fast, Friendly, Firey! Our Volcano in a Box and Box of Dynamite are doing great! Joe's video and community is fun and informative.

I found Penny's Tomato & Pepper Joe on Face Book. I grow & LOVE hot stuff. Still, I learned ALLOT with Penny's posts. Recently I had a question and posted it for Pepper Joe. He quickly got back to me with his answer. I appreciate this because I was not a past customer. He was willing to put himself out to a follow pepper head! I will do business with him in the future!!!

I found Pepper Joe doing web searches on growing tomatoes.His site had great FAQs on growing peppers. I was able to cut back my pepper plants last year and they all regrew thanks to Pepper Joe. He answers all the questions I post on his Facebook page and has helped me out a lot in my garden. That is very rare and valuable customer service.

I was looking for information about growing peppers and found PepperJoe via a DuckDuckGo search. The site is very informative with lots of good ideas and suggestions for germinating, growing and harvesting peppers.

I purchased a few seeds to use for next year's crop, then went about collecting all the info I would need to guarantee success. Most of the info was right there on the site. A few questions were answered promptly via email. Best of all, a couple of months later I received an email from PepperJoe directing me to a Youtube clip he had made that further clarified some of my questions.

This kind of attention to customers and followup is so rare these days. I'm sure I will have a good harvest in 2014 thanks to PepperJoe.

This has been my first year growing hot peppers and I stumbled across PJs youtube channel and there fb page although I havnt ordered from them yet they have been more then helpful with any questions ive had. I already know next growing season I will be only dealing with them. Keep up the good work joe and penny you guys rock

Mostly my experience with pepper joe was flawless (customer service, seeds spouted fairly well, haven't seen any peppers on my plants yet so can comment on pepper shapes, colors, sizes). But when they began acting like children in the matter with tomatoeville, it just bothered me a little. I'm thinking, why does a good company, that's been in buisness for 20 some years, and gets flamed from a small a$$ website, would react the way they did with their videos and bad comments all over the internet.

When I confronted them on facebook I came back later on to see if they answerd, to my suprise, they REMOVED my comment and completly ignored it. This is not only disrespectful, but its childish. I was pointing out the fact that they should just let it go, its just a small website.

I didn't know tomatoeville before pepper joe mentionned it and started to flip out on facebook. This is stupid and I will never buy from pepper joe again and will tell this story to whoever wants to buy from them just so they dont.

talking about a good ship, bad captain. its a shame you acted like kids on this one. It was funny in the begining but it quickly became moronic.

As far as Tomatoville goes...we have ongoing litigation against them and our legal council recommends we make no comment to that.

A group of friends including myself love new hot peppers and tomato varieties, so we scour the web and markets looking for the extra kick for our salsas and gardens. We ordered from Pepper Joe this year and are very happy with the quick delivery, service and products. The peppers we grew (not all the seeds) they all grew and are producing wonderful hot peppers galore.This was our first year ordering and not our last, next year we plan on adding Penny's Tomato's as well to the list. We have them on our F.B. pages too and love the comments we get when friends and family say "where did you get that, its not from the typical seed store". They offer so much information about every little detail which is important to all stages of gardeners in my opinion and to give that away for free is just icing on the cake!

I have been growing hot and sweet peppers for many years now and I somehow stumbled across Pepper Joes. I am completely satisfied with the seeds I received and especially the personal service they give to their customers.I will be using their seeds on a regular basis now along with Penny's tomatoes. I don't use a whole lot of seeds but I like to be treated right.

This is my second year of growing peppers, first year trying hot peppers. Love all the info and the fast responses this company provide. Looking forward to ordering some hotter seeds for next year already. As a novice this is the place you want to look for help. Fantastic company to work with. I've ordered seeds from Pepper Joes two years in a row now. Outstanding germination rates on 20 different varieties of peppers.

Joe even gave me some great advice on indoor lighting and sprouting, to get an early start this year, and I now have over 120 healthy and happy pepper plants of various varieties growing in pots and in the ground this year.

I have ordered seeds from 4 or 5 different companies, one of them being Pepper Joes, I am growing 32 different varieties of peppers and out of all the peppers I am growing the seeds I purchased from Pepper Joe(Carolina Reapers, Peter Peppers, Ghost Peppers, Chocolate Habanero, White Habanero, 7 Pot Douglah) are the best quality seeds I have grown so far they are very full and grow strong and firm, also he is the only person to take the time to personally email me back with detailed help and tips on gardening. This company produces excellent stock and speedy service. I have never had any trouble getting a hold a REAL LIFE PERSON. Pepper Joe pepper seeds are far superior to anything I have purchased elsewhere. I am a customer for life!

Just started learning all about hot peppers this year with the help of Joe's seeds, great amount of knowledge on his website and feedback from Joe himself. Joe is the pepper expert!

I purchased seeds from Pepper Joe late last year and started planting my first pepper plants. I've been caring for them since and, to my amazement, got them big, strong and beautiful using some of the tips on Pepper Joe’s website. Unfortunately, I went to check on my plants the other day, as I do on a daily basis, and realized that a handful of them were wilted and looked like they were under watered. I gave them water and checked on them the next day but they looked worse. I freaked out and all I could think to do was take a picture and send it to the pro himself for help. Pepper Joe didn't disappoint, he answered my all my questions very promptly and gave some great advice. Unfortunately, it was too late for my plants as they did not recover. I later realized that I had placed the plants near a sprinkler head and some of them were actually getting flooded on a daily basis and that’s what caused the problem. I've ordered seeds from Pepper Joe on several occasions. I've always had an excellent germination rate and healthy plants when using his seeds. I love the variety of different peppers that he has to offer. I've contacted him online with questions regarding seeds, plants and fertilizing. He has always been very helpful. The customer service is great. I also appreciate the free seeds that come with my orders. Some of my favorite peppers have been the ones that I received as free samples. I will plan on using Pepper Joe every year for my pepper seeds.

Every plant ive grown from these seeds have been outstanding. Both, Pepper Joe and Penny's. The company itself is one in a million and the appreciation they give through social media is just unmeasurable. Shipping and cost of seeds is practically nothing. I have over 30 strains of peppers and 10 different tomatoes. All of which grew healthy as can be. I recommend both companys to everyone. 5 stars across the board for customer service, rare selections, wide variety and great deals.

I wish there was a rating above positive. In my 43 years I have rarely run into a company that is this concerned about its customers.

First the seeds. I wish I could report a 95%+ germination on my pepper seeds, but the honest truth is I screwed up. What is amazing is that despite my fumbling, Joe's seeds were robust enough to still give me a good garden this year. (83 peppers!) Penny's tomato seeds were literally 100% germination! I planted 3-5 per 4 inch pot, 20 pots. Most were up within the first week. Some took longer, a few came up weeks in. All told, they ALL eventually sprouted.

But never mind the seeds for a minute. It is the support and service that makes this company shine. I follow Joe in forums such as The Hot Pepper, and also his Youtube channel and Facebook. I have NEVER seen anyone bend over backwards for the customer like he does!!! Even when lack of success clearly is the CUSTOMERS fault Joe will replace the seeds. No questions asked. What perplexes me is he has ANY complaints at all! These folks MUST be trolls, because if given even half a chance Joe makes it right.

That is MY story and I will be a satisfied customer for years to come. Not only a top-notch vendor but a great online friend and support team. Thanks Joe and Penny.

My second year ordering from Pepper Joe..the first year was great...the second year was even better!!Ordered seeds on April 19th(a Friday..late afternoon ) received seeds on April 25th..a turn around time of 4 days...could not be happier with that.also the young lady that I had dealt with was extremely courteous,and helpful..I am looking forward for my 4 varieties and the two free varieties to germinate...and I am sure that my germination percentage will be as high as it was last year...96%...thank you Pepper Joe
