Comments regarding Johnny's Selected Seeds

I'm not sure I can say anything that hasn't already been said. Great service, good, if occasionally ideosyncratic, selection, and prices that are reasonable for what you get. I'd also advise getting on their electronic mailing list for their newsletter, which contains very useful information. I applaud their work in developing new varieties and their emphasis on organic seed and sustainable growing practices. Simply put, the best.

They're always great! Good tips, good ethics, great selection, easy-to-order website, low shipping rates, great germination, best variety . . . especially for Asian Greens (Autumn Poem etc.) and cover crops. I also like it that they are seemingly independent and not rolled into the huge Park Seeds or Spring Hill groups.

I recently ordered several items from Johnny's -- just as I've done for years. My order arrived three days later! I have never (never!) had a problem with either their seeds...or the cheerful, knowlegeable, and personal service. When I call I get a real person right away, without having to listen to some aggravating recording like "If you want something, press 12"! And, yes, they really do process my orders the very same day I call...and, because I always call before noon their time, they pack it up and send it all out that afternoon. That's got to be tops in the seed industry! I can't wait to get their new catalog this winter to see all the new stuff they'll be adding (like they do every year).

Keep it up, Johnny's!... You guys and gals are right up at the head of my list. I'll be back!

We have ordered from JSS for years. Never a problem. Some of their unique varieties have become comman for us. Where else can you find Daikon seed?

Johnnys has always (always!) been there for us. You call them on their order line and someone picks up the phone immediately. You order a particular variety, and that is just what you get. No substitutes. No argument. And no waste of time getting what you ordered. I cannot believe that they always put what I order into a box and mail it out that very afternoon!!! And they have so many old fashioned varieties and really neat stuff. And I really like the fact that most of their seeds are organic and none of them are genetically messed around with. I think I will make my next order at their website. So far I have just been there to get instructions on how to grow their seeds but if their website ordering is as good as their phone ordering, that is how I will order in the future because I can go there any time of the day or night. Johnnys is absolute tops in my book and I would recommend them to anyone!!! They get 5 stars from this old farm gal!

Oh so love their wide selection of organic seeds and I can't think of one other company today that when you call, you speak immediately with a real, live person, and are not bombarded with a dizzying array of automated options. Wonderful!!

Yes, count me in for a positive revue. All vegetable seeds ordered this season have been very viable and continue to grow well. Seeds arrived quickly. Have dealt with them for a number of years, and am happy to be giving them my business.

I have ordered vegetable seeds for my home garden from Johnny's on several occasions. For me, their squash selection is among the best, but they do everything right, as is evident from others on this page. They are somewhat expensive, but then again, they do much of the plant breeding stuff themselves. R&D is expensive.

Great service and the the catalog doubles as an outstanding gardener's resource. Read the prelude to understand the symbology indicating the varieties which are easy to grow, AAU winners, suited to containers, etc.

I ordered several packets of seeds this spring. The order arrived (complete) within a week. Seed packets were intact and appeared fresh/well kept.

Although I did not order from them this year, Johnny's has been on my list for years! Seed selection, while a bit sparse on variations within cultivars, is pretty good and your dollar goes a good distance with them. Customer service is also good with this one.

I have always had luck with Jonny's. I just sent my order out last Monday, and it got here today, a week and three days later--Thursday. Not too bad of a waiting time, either, for a Michigan to Maine trip in the mail. Everything arrived in great condition. The germination instructions on the backs of the seed pkts. are detailed enough, too, so you know exactly what to do for good results. Another thing is that their seed pkts. are re-sealable. Their prices are very good for what you get. Anybody considering to order from Jonny's should really give them a try.

I sent in my order and received it a week later. Very fast. I will certainly buy from this company again. Although I do find some of the prices not high but a bit too much.

They support their product long after the sale with gardening advice and even recipes sometimes! They are also unsurpassed in quickly and pleasantly correcting the rare shipment error or problem (even those out of their control such as a damaged package). They also have both the most detailed and most accurate gardening catalog I have ever seen, plus the best selection of hard-to-find herb seeds!

They are VERY knowledgable people who often-times "lead the way" with not just seed stock but also with education concerning planting/planting times, potential problems (pests and diseases), and a wonderful mixture of friendliness combined with business...a rare find.

I organically gardened 20,000 sq. foot for 12 years in AR and 90% of my seeds were ordered from Johnny's. They are so prompt it was just unbelievable. Example: I faxed them a $50 order before 7 AM on a Monday, my order arrived three days later!! I NEVER had seeds that were misrepresented or didn't grow as promised. I'm getting an order together to send in to them "as we speak."

I am a small commercial grower, and have been ordering from Johnny's for years. Couldn't be better! The absolute best in quality and service. I have never been disappointed. Johnny's even sent me a refund once for seed they had sent which they later found out was the wrong variety. I didn't even know it, and had been happy with the seed. What a bonus! When they do make mistakes (rare) they more than make up for it. Johnny's sets a very high standard by which I now judge all the others.
