In early June, I visited http://www.daylilyhaven.com and decided to place an order of irises. I printed off a copy of the order form and followed the instructions to the letter: I made sure to meet the $35 minimum order, added on the correct shipping charges, and wrote the check out to Nina Morgan. I mailed out the order and check.

In mid July, I received a letter from Nina Morgan. Enclosed was my check, uncashed. The letter was a printout of an email, addressed to someone I had never heard of. Below her letter I could see the email she was replying to, which reads as follows:
"Again I am asking where my order of 4 daylilies is. I don't have an order #, because you never responded to my order, but I sent you money for them. Please advise." It was signed by a woman in TN, who included her email and mailing address.
To this note, Nina had responded as follows (sic):
"I am returning your check, don't see an order to go with your check. You did not mail a list with your check and you did not follow instructions and even made the check out to Daylily Haven Iris Gardens which clearly states who to mail it to. I do not have a clue what your 4 items are that you ordered and don't have a clue the frt. you paid. All orders are placed in a file when received. No order here, don't do anything from memory, don't take take orders by phone, do verify if I have them. I have your envelope and check and that is it. Also you did not read that my minimum order is $40.00 + shipping fee. My frt is $14.00 + .50 cents fee which would be $16.00 shipping total. You sent a check total of $48.50. I don't do order numbers but I do pay a lot for a nice website with full instructions. Looks like you ordered from the old site with incorrect shipping for 2010, still would not have covered minimum order to ship. My new site is http://www.daylilyhavengardens.com. We probably could have worked this out for you to get what you wanted and I am sorry, I have never had such a demanding order as yours, your check is being returned today. Nina Morgan"

The amount of the check was the amount I had written, which covered the prices and shipping costs and met the minimum order on the site I had viewed. That site made no mention of being outdated, or that costs may have gone up. However my check was clearly made out to Nina Morgan, so I don't know what check she was referring to in her letter. She had made no effort to contact me to tell me of my ordering errors, and I had not contacted her either, believing everything was fine. This angry ranting letter addressed to somebody elese and accusing them of being demanding was the only contact she made with me.

Obviously she has mixed my iris order with someone else's daylily order, and canceled my order instead of letting me know more money was needed. When I went to her website to find more information, I reached a page telling me the domain name was expired and pending renewal or deletion.

I followed the new link Nina had provided in her letter and saw that iris shipping had ended June 30th. I can't reorder from her even if I wanted to, and judging by how she handled this mixup she created, I really don't want to deal with her ever again.

Nina will hold your checks hostage if unable to fill your order. You must send a self addressed envelope to her to get it back. I did as she asked, and I'm still waiting for one I sent last July. On more than one occasion she has sent nasty emails shifting blame and saying it will not be returned until Spring 2010 when she opens again. Although she said in email she is very generous, I have yet to see anything but bitterness and she forms grudges against you if you question her. Other suppliers go the extra mile providing a pleasant experience regarding correspondence and customer service. Not so with this person. (Fortunately, this is the only negative dealing I've had from any vendor ever!)

I placed an order with Mrs. Morgan in June 2007, and sent her a check. I had made the check out to Daylily Haven (my error). Mrs. Morgan would not cash my check. I asked her to return it so that I could send her another one made out to her personally, as she requested.

I did not receive my original check back. I sent her three e-mails, and got no answer from her. I called her telephone number 5 or 6 times before I finally was able to get in touch with her. She said she had sent the original check back, but I have not received it, as of August 10.

I sent her a second check and she sent me most of the daylilies that I ordered. Upon opening the box and sorting out the daylilies, I discovered two were missing from my order: 1) Elegantissima and 2) Vintage Bordeaux. I sent her an e-mail advising her of this. She replied that her husband had put money in the box refunding me the cost of Elegantissima, and that she had sent Vintage Bordeaux in the box. I wrote her back, telling her that I had received no money in the box and no Vintage Bordeaux.

I have yet to hear from her. I am of the opinion that enough time has gone by that I should have received either the missing daylilies or a refund.

While her plants were nice, fresh and clean, I would never purchase anything else from her. I am minus two plants that I paid for, and at this writing, it appears that I have no prospect of replacement.

Contacted seller regarding disappointing order and received offensive e-mail. Would not recommend.
