What a great place to explore! They had the Paw Paws I was looking for, plus a Calycanthus, and the cutest little Itea that had to come home with me. If you are in the Cincinnati area, there is no better place to spend a few hours ( and a few dollars).

Just be sure you are willing to slop around a little.

I visit Earthscapes (Native Trees) several times a year to purchase locally grown native plants and trees and also just for fun. They have 20 or 30 hoop houses and green houses filled with plants and trees open for exploring. Originally a wholesale operation, be prepared to help yourself, explore all the nooks and crannies on your own, and be sure to wear sturdy shoes.

My special interest is their very nice collection of butterfly host and nectar plants, including hard to find paw paws. They also developed and distribute the 'Spring Grove' dogwood that is particularly hardy in our area.

I have never mail ordered from them.

Experience has been very positive. The only nursery in the Greater Cincinnati Area, that I know of that grows and propagates native midwestern plants on their premises. Formerly a wholesaler to landscapers and nurseries only, but in the last several years opened up to the public.
