I placed an order on Sunday the 31st. When I placed my order, I chose for it to be shipped using UPS. On Thursday the 4th, I called to see if I could cancel the order. At first, Ron could not find my order. He eventually found my order and said cancelling was not a problem because the order had never gone through. Less than half an hour later, he called me and said it was too late to cancel the order because it had already shipped the previous Monday. Shipping from Garden Valley Ranch to Vegas should only take two days. On Monday, one week after the order supposedly shipped, I still had not received the order. I called Garden Valley, but their voice mail said they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (which makes me wonder how my package shipped on a Monday). On Tuesday, FedEx tried to deliver my package. Using the tracking info FedEx left me, I found the order did not leave Garden Valley Ranch until Friday, the day after I tried to cancel. Because I work 8-5 Monday through Friday, I will not be able to get my order from FedEx until Saturday. I have no idea what condition my roses will be in after spending over a week in a box. Part of this whole disaster could have been avoided had Garden Valley sent the roses via UPS as I had ordered and paid for. I could have picked up the roses at a nearby UPS after work and the roses would not have spent over a week in a dark box. FedEx does not offer this service. I do not know if Ron flat out lied to me or is just unorganized. I do not recommend this business to anyone. I have shopped online weekly for several years, and Garden Valley is the only business I regret ordering from. I will never deal with them again.

On Feb 12, 2010, Garden Valley Ranch responded with:

"The reason I had trouble finding her order was that the name she gave me did not match what was in our system. I'm not sure why there was a difference, we had several people with her last name, but not her first name. After hanging up the phone with her, I found where her order had actually already been processed and shipped. As we had a tracking number and Fedex had already picked up the boxes for the day, I had to guess which day that week it had actually been shipped (we group orders together to ship and schedule pickups from Fedex). So, I could have been wrong on which day it was sent, but was not wrong on the fact that it was shipped already. I had forgotten that we still had UPS as a shipping option on our web pages (I fixed that), but we quit using them as their pricing never matched what showed up, and we ended up losing money with them, plus their service was higher and slower than Fedex. This has been the only complaint about that I've ever received.

I called her immediately after finding out what happened, but only got her answering machine. I left a message explaining what happened, but she never called us back. We probably could have worked out something if those two roses were causing a big problem, but we can't give a total refund when we've already paid for shipping. I also e-mailed her right after leaving a voice message, and she did not respond to that either, but chose to come here and make her one and only comment ever to slam our business. We are not some huge corporation, and while I did all I could, the truth is, her order HAD shipped already when she called, so no matter what, it was too late to cancel her order. It would have been courteous, to say the least, to at least have responded to either one of our messages before putting a nasty comment up here that will be here forever, to damage our reputation and purposely try to damage our business. We did not act in bad faith in fulfilling her order. It is not our fault that she changed her mind later. Thankfully, most people do actually want what they've ordered, or this business would be even more difficult to sustain.

Our nursery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and our voice message says that. However, we work on those days, just are not open to the public.

We ship hundreds of orders every year, to lots of happy customers, so I hope anyone reading her comment will consider that.
