I ordered 2 Chicago Hardy fig trees from ETGB's. Living as far away from San Diego as possible, I waited for 6 days for the trees to arrive. They got here this morning and I unpacked them immediately. They were packed very well, nice and secure. One was bone dry and showing a little brown on some of it's leaves, the other was moist and seemed to be quite healthy. Both plants had nice shapes, and were larger than I would have expected from a mail order company. One drawback was a baby wolf spider hidden in a curled up leave. I guess you can't prevent everything. All in all, I am very satisfied with the plants, I just hope after a good drink, the dry one makes it. I would recommend this company to anyone, they seem to care about the plants and what they send to customers.

One of the carpet roses in our Sunset Trio arrived with a hole in the package, completely dried out and sporting a sad, greyish hue. After contacting Dena at customer service, we planted the suspect coral rose, and waited one week, after which there was no improvement. We attempted to prune down the stems to reach solid green, to no avail. We contacted Dena again, and were immediately shipped a very vigorous coral carpet rose replacement. We are extremely happy with this supplier and look forward to enjoying our roses this summer!

I had never ordered from this company before, but based on the ratings here, last fall (2014) I purchased 30 Ice Follies daffodil bulbs from Easy to Grow Bulbs. Each package of "10 bulbs" actually included about twice that many bulbs, and overall the bulbs were by far the largest I have ever seen in my many years of gardening. Fast-forward to the present day (April 2015), and all of the bulbs are blooming beautifully in my spring garden, are all true to name/label. I am so happy to have found a reputable supplier of quality bulbs.

This is my GO-TO place for bulbs. They have the highest quality and largest size bulbs with decent price/bulb that always perform for me. Since I am in Zone10a, tulips do not do well. However, they recommended the species tulip, and with their advice, I got a couple dozen Tangerine Beauty tulips a few years ago. They bloomed in a spectacular show of electric orange, and the leaves also added interest as they are wavy and sage-green in color. The following year, they came up (ALL of them) and to my surprise, actually more than what I planted came up and bloomed again. They have naturalized and without fail, come up every spring to put on a show. I bought 30 more bulbs from them last fall, and these also were high quality, came up, and bloomed for me this year. I also purchased Belladonna Lily (aka Naked Ladies) bulbs from EG. They were the largest I have seen and also had the best price for these. I highly recommend this place for all your bulb needs.

The bulbs are already starting to sprout in the package, and look very healthy. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

Just received my order today. I ordered 3 rhizomes each of 4 varieties of bearded iris. The two blue/purple varieties I ordered look to be good size, and are about what I expected. The two red/orange varieties are huge. Each rhizome is a mother with at least two full size offshoots. Got a free pack of some Amazon lily bulbs, which is fortunate because I was wondering what to grow indoors this coming Winter, plus my wife likes flowers that are orchid-ish and tropical. This place is in the top 5 for a good reason in my estimation.

The bulbs came up beautifully, but the Pheasant's Eye daffodil (planted in two places) is infected with nematodes. Brand new, tiny garden that I likely have destroy and can never use for bulbs again. I contacted the company by email yesterday and have received no response.

Can someone tell me if I can fight the infection? Do I need to trash the hyacinth I planted there too? Out of 5 varieties of daff I ordered, so far only the one variety is showing signs of infection.

After a coworker put the idea in my head that I simply MUST have lilies in my garden, I logged on to DG to find a bulb company in their top companies that wasn't going to bust my budget. Easy to Grow Bulbs is fantastic! I browsed their website and picked out my bulbs. I love the design, it is very easy to use and is filled with great information about the plants you are purchasing. All of their bulbs are very reasonably priced, and I love the different assortments. I placed my order on Thursday March 7, and they arrived in the mail today! Less than a week later! I ordered the oriental lily assortment and some rialto lilies that were on sale. The bulbs look wonderful. Seeing as I just got them I can't comment on how they bloom, so I will post again when they do. So pleased with my entire experiance! I will do business with them again soon!

Less than 3 weeks later, 16 of my 18 lily bulbs have woken up! Beyond excited to see them coming out of the ground. I was waiting until I saw some growth to place my next order, and after half of them came up I logged on to the website and chose a Kniphofia, a gladioulus package, and some crocosmia. I ordered on wednesday night, and they arrived via FEDEX this morning!! I love how fast they get to me. After using two other mail-order companies that took one month and almost 2 months respectively to get to me, it is such a joy to receive my order so fast. My glad bulbs are so big, my kniphofia is a beautiful healthy size potted plant. I enjoy shopping with this company so much they will be my go-to for online ordering. I encourage anyone to try them out, you will not be disappointed!

I had 100% of my lilies produce beautiful fragrant blooms. I just love this company and I love the quality of their bulbs. I already placed my first order and within a day or two I received a personalized email saying when they expected to ship. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Until now I've only had positive experiences with Easy To Grow Bulbs. But this year my order didn't arrive - it was shipped on October 4th, the Post Office says it was delivered on October 7th, but we never received it. I sent an email to Easy To Grow bulbs, got a response back almost immediately asking me to check with our postal carrier. I did - the carrier couldn't recall the delivery - so I emailed back (three times over the course of a week) and have had no response. I also left a phone message this morning (Friday), and have received no response by phone or email. So I'm out $112, and have no bulbs, and I'm not getting a response from the company. I'm hoping this posting will result in hearing back from them.

I see so many positive comments here, especially of their good customer service. I wonder how you guys are able to contact this customer service at all. I just can't. I tried to call, nobody answered, I left a message but nobody got interested in it. Their email address doesn't work - I send an email and I get it back over and over again. I tried to contact them through this site davesgarden.com, I sent an email, it didn't come back but still no answer. I also tried to contact this nursery last spring, a had a question to ask and the result was the same - NO ANSWER. I think perhaps I am not as big and important as you guys are that nobody in this great company seems to notice me and my problem. In one comment here I read that after a negative comment here, somebody in their customer service contacted its author and offered to settle all his problems. So I am writing this negative comment with the same purpose - please, contact me (elshab@ukr.net) and offer me to settle my problem because I AM ALREADY TIRED OF ALL MY ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT AND BE HEARD BY THIS GREAT COMPANY. Thank you.

I contacted customer service because less than half of the 72 Casa Blanca lilies I ordered and planted this spring came up and those that did have weak stems, small flowers and some deformed blooms.. Since I experimented with several different lily varieties last year and had excellent success with the Casa Blancas from Easy to Grow Bulbs , I was terribly disappointed in the poor show this year. I have received no response from the company, and of course, will not order from them again.
My past experience from this company is mixed: I planted 100 leucojum which did FABULOUS, but none of the gladiolus came up---so the lilies tip the scale to the negative.

Having ordered from Easy to Grow Bulbs/Willow Creek Gardens in the past, and always having a great experience, I was so disappointed this time, that I don't think I will order from this company again.

I ordered 18 Cleopatra Canna Rhizomes (6 bags of 3), and while they shipped quickly, the bulbs were completely inferior, and certainly not "large" tubers as described on the website.

There were 3 rhizomes that were about as big as my pointer finger. The rest were between 1/2 inch to 1.5" long.
I planted them anyway with a little irritation thinking they were just going to be small, but nearly two months later, only 4 bulbs have sprouted growth. I emailed the company twice and I never got a response.

Extremely disappointing for a supposedly highly rated company on the Dave's Garden Watchdog Community.

Buyer beware!

On June 13th, 2013, GreeneLady changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following:

I was contacted by Jon almost immediately after I posted my original review. It appears that my emails did not get through to them. He was extremely professional, and issued me a full refund for all the rhizomes, even though I did get 4 that were good.

Very happy with their customer service, and yes, I will try again to order more Cleopatras if they are available next year.

They had an excellent price on purple d'oro lilies and I got tons of them and all are a good 12+ inches high and 6-8 inches wide and budding already---I planted them a month ago. I reordered a lot of things I'd ordered from another company more than 10 weeks before and they are in the ground and growing while I still am waiting for the other bulbs from a different company to arrive. They also sent some free bulbs and I look forward to seeing what they'll do. Overall an excellent buying experience. I live in Zone 9A and ordered from Easy to Grow Bulbs based on reviews from Dave's website. My bulbs/plants arrived arrived in good condition, except for one of the bleeding hearts, which did not have a great root system. I emailed the company about this one plant-they did respond quickly- and they told me to water the "iffy" plant differently from the others ordered. It has been 3 weeks, and still no sign of life, above or below the ground. The astilbies look great, the rose bushes have sprouting leafs, and the other bleeding heart is coming up just fine. I wish both bleeding hearts were working, but sadly not so. That being said, I will rate them positive, and probably have to order more bleeding hearts to replace the one that just died.

There was one tiny issue. Two of the 21 plants were the wrong variety. I Emailed Kathleen as soon as I discovered the error and asked her if she could help as my design called for 21 plants. She responded almost immediately, apologized for the error and said she would make sure the 2 correct plants shipped the next day. Shipping was also fast, and the order shipped within a week of being placed.

I also ordered a red amaryllis which has just bloomed, and has four HUGE beautiful red flowers with a second flower stalk forming. For any frugal gardeners like me wondering if the price is worth it to pay ~$10 for an amaryllis bulb when you can buy one for $5 at Walmart, I can most definitely say yes. I bought one to grow just for comparison, and they do not even look like the same plant. I wish I could upload a picture into the review, but the cheap bulb grew about one foot tall, and put out four small flowers about four inches wide. The Easy to Grow amaryllis is over 2 1/2 feet tall with flowers over eight inches across with a beautiful open shape, just like their pictures.
