On 11/09/2006 I ordered Unfolding Paradox and sent my check for $28.00 ($20.00 plant cost + $8.00 shipping). I did not receive he plant and after several unanswered e-mails I finally received a refund of $20.. with the explanation that the plant was not available .."my Mexicans must have pulled it up when they were weeding" After numerous e-mails Christie still wil not respond to my requests for refund of the shipping charge. Beware

They don't respond to your communications, plants are small, many didn't live. Buy elsewhere where you and your dollar are respected enough to keep in touch. Maryott's, Marietta, Ridaught and others keep you informed, give bonuses and healthy plants--spend your money there.

I posted both last season about problems, and this season, months ago--but refrained from leaving a watchdog evaluation until I was sure of my experiences. I have written many reviews but only a few negatives. These are just my own experiences. I realize others may have had different ones, that is why we all are urged to post our own.
I did place 2 orders with this company and personally spoke to persons at the home number on the two times [in over a year] when I could get an answer. I'm sorry she feels this way, I am glad the last payment was not deducted from my charge, as I will no longer do business with people that have too many problems to connect with their customers. I am certain if she provides the service she contends, she will have no problem with losing a few idiots from her customer base.

PS
I got an e-mail saying their website is fixed if anyone is interested in shopping.

I glad you remember me, even if you don't remember my order. I am sorry if the housekeeper thought I was rude, I never meant to be. I have searched the last 258 calls on my caller ID, and can't seem to find where I was contacted. It may have been not working, nor the answering machine, or aol call alert--I am not certain where the problem lies.
Anyway, we have both expressed our opinions, and I wish the Dixons better health and luck in the future. End of story.

I ordered $58 worth of daylilies from this company last spring. They were very small & puny, no bonus plants, and the order was short one plant. Christie promised to reimburse me for the missing one but never did, despite two reminders. One of them was a $20 daylily. It did not bloom and several of them did not live. (Only two of them bloomed at all & none of them grew big enough to be sure they would make it thru the winter) This caused me to not want to order live plants thru the mail but I think that if they had not been so tiny, there would not have been a problem. I have bought over 100 locally and never had one to die.

I am pleased to report that two of the daylilies I bought from Christie in 2005 (Admiral's Braid & one that I think may be Russian Ragtime) have finally bloomed this year, along with my daylily seed that I planted in 2005. I still say they were some of the smallest fans I have ever received & took the longest to bloom & had the lowest survival rate of any I have ever ordered by mail but in fairness, I must say that perhaps I ordered a bit too early in the season. A friend who is a hydridizer says he ordered from her in September & got huge plants.
Also she did finally send a check for the missing daylily.

On November 6, 2005, I sent an order with a check for a particular dayliliy I was interested in with the instructions of 'No Substitutions'. I did not receive any response that they had received my order, so I began sending email inquiries and phone calls. All went unaswered until Dec.12, 2005. At that time, I received an email from them stating they were out of the item I ordered and would be sending my check back to me. To date, I have received NOTHING from them AND no responses to my further inquiries about my refund. No way would I EVER order from them or recommend them to anybody. My check was only for $33.00, but it would cost me $25.00 to put a stop payment on it. Hardly worth the effort. My recommendation is: stay away from Dixon Delight/Christie's Daylilies.

Update for my original comment: On February 13, '06, I finally received my check from Christie's. There were no apologies for the delay or anything; just the check.
