Do not buy from TomatoBob if you have a planting deadline and need to receive your seeds in a timely manner. Mine took over a month to ship with no communication from the seller, well past my planting deadline. Their multiple emails and voicemails are all full and any attempt to contact them bounces back. Luckily my bank was able to identify it as fraud and reverse the charge on my credit card, so I could order seeds from legitimate companies with customer service and reasonable shipping times. I sent the seeds back when I received them over a month later, since they apparently didn't notice I had reversed the charges. I paid for the return shipping costs and considered it a lesson learned.

I usually don’t write negative comments about a company but my experience with this company has been terrible. I have tried contacting them through email and by telephone and I have left several messages and nobody has returned my emails or messages. It’s been well over a month and I have not received my order. I ended up ordering seeds from 3 other companies about 1 week ago and I have already received all three of their orders. Don’t waste your time with this company

I bought seeds from Tomato Bob several times so I felt comfortable placing a large order back in 2010. The order was for over $200 in seeds I ordered either in late 2009 or very early 2010. I ordered very early since they are very slow to ship but they had a great selection. I realized after several months I hadn't received my order and I was weeks away from needing to start my seedlings to have them ready to set out. I contacted them and got a response back the order had been shipped but no details. I told them I hadn't received it but they stubbornly said they shipped it. I lived in a very small town at the time and every one knew me so I asked at the local post office if they had delivered a small package to my place in the last few months and they said no. I contacted them again and offered to accept half the order to put it behind us, the bulk of the order was two of their garden packs, one was meant as a gift. I thought it was a generous offer since I'd still be out over a $100. They once again stubbornly refuse to honor the order. I've never ordered from them since and never would again. I was never offered tracking information or any kind of resolution. They were at the time still selling the garden packs so they had seeds available. As I said earlier they were always painfully slow fullfilling orders, we're talking months, but a lot of seed companies are nearly as bad but refusing to accept responsibility on a lost order, I have no proof it was every sent even, is an extremely poor way to run a business. It's cost them my business and the business of anyone I talk to. If you're going to run a mail order business you have to expect some orders will get lost in the mail, once again I'm assuming they even bothered to ship it, but making the customer accept the entire loss is unacceptable so I'd avoid them at all costs.

The above review was written by Brad from WA, who placed an order with us on March 27, 2013. His order shipped on March 28th via Priority mail with a tracking number (95055101839030873481(we'll leave off the last 2 numbers for privacy). It shows it was to be delivered on March 30th to the address he provided. We also sent an email to Brad on March 28, 2013 (the day his order shipped) to tell him that it was shipped, and that he would recieve it within 3-4 business days. The email also said that if he did not, or had any problems he should call us at 614.256.6298 immediately. We have to this day NEVER received a phone call from him. He emailed us 2 weeks after his order shipped and said he had not received it. We CALLED HIM IMMEDIATELY and offered to resend for free (although we had tracking proving it had shipped once) and he said it was too late and he had already cancelled his credit card payment. We gave him the tracking number and told him we were very sorry he had not received his seeds, and that if they did show up he could keep them anyway. We called him as soon as we knew he had a problem. If he never calls us, how in the world will we even know he didn't get his seeds??? We try VERY hard to ship promptly and make everything right with our customers if they have a problem. The above comments are very unfair."

Criminals. And liars. No seeds. No refund. Tomato Bob's stole $53.78 from me. After nine weeks of trying to reach these cons, I give up.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS!

My neighbor also had a no show on his seeds... tried to call Tomato Bob's... finally got through... and was told a lie, that seeds were already sent, but would be resent just in case. Six weeks later, seeds still had not arrived. Why doesn't somebody close this place down? I guarantee the majority of the positive ratings were placed by the Tomato Bob scam artists.

We have NO IDEA who this order was for, so I can't respond specifically to the neighbor. We did however look through all emails and phone call lists for a complaint in Utah during the month of March, 2013. We can't find a single one. The bad thing a about Dave's Garden is that anyone can go on here (even a competitor) and say anything they like without a single shred of proof. We are a small family company and we try VERY hard to make all of our customers happy. If we said we resent something, then we did."

Feb 2011 I ordered 7 Heirloom Tomato seed packets, 2 Sweet Pepper seed packets, and 1 Cucumber seed packet.
They all arrived promptly except for 1 missing Tomato seed packet. I called Seven Acre Seeds (evidently is also Tomato Bobs) and talked with a pleasant lady who shipped out the missing Tomato packet and some sampler seeds of which I do not have the space to plant.

1 planted Tomato was nothing even near to what it was described, (Big Rainbow) but was a good but a completely different tomato.

Of the 2 Stupice planted, 1 died for no obvious reason. Possibly my fault, but none of the 3 or 4 Stupice seedlings ever looked as healthy as the other variety seedlings.

Here is my major problem. I had room only for 8 of the Orange Sun Sweet Pepper plants. 5 of these 8 turned out to be an Orange Habanero Pepper plant. (Hot, Hot, Hot) They grew very well but took up the limited space I needed for the Orange Sun Sweet Pepper plants. I could not even give all of these hot peppers away.

No more Seven Acres Seeds or Tomato Bobs for me.

I ordered tomato plants from Tomato Bob/Seven Acre seeds at the end of April. The confirmation I got said that most orders ship within 48 hours, and I would receive a shipping notice when mine were sent out. It's now the end of May, and I have heard nothing and have not received the plants. I have called, emailed, and used their contact form multiple time to request an update, and I have not received a response to any of my inquiries. At this point, 1) it's really late to be planting out in zone 9b and 2) I'm going on vacation soon, so I don't even want the order. Yet I can't reach them to cancel. Their voicemail is now saying that all orders will ship by tomorrow, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Avoid this company if you actually want to grow your own vegetables. I ordered two types of chili's from this company and 17 days later, I had not received my seeds. I emailed them regarding the situation and wanted to know if the items had been sent and I have not been responded to. Unlike some of the other reviews, I will actually be receiving my money back because I ordered the items through PayPal. I am currently considering sending information to the better business bureau about TomatoBob so that these types of business practices will hopefully end. I am truly disgusted with being dragged down by this so called "business." As stated earlier, please avoid this company if you don't want to have the same experience as I did.

Now that the plants are growing, seeds were mixed. At least one from the packet marked Brandywine was actually Roma. More than half the broccoli was actually cabbage.

I ordered veggie seeds on June 17th, I paid with paypal. The same day I ordered I called the number listed to add to my order. They did not call back.

A few days later, on the 22nd, I called again. By this time I had also not received an order confirmation, a call back about adding to my order or a shipping confirmation via paypal.

I waited a couple more days with no call back and gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought they might just be really, really busy and email would be quicker. I emailed to two email addresses. I never heard back.

Deciding that any company that can't be bothered to return a phone call or email does not want my business they left me no choice and I filed a claim with paypal. They also did not respond to the email that paypal sent them.

10 days later paypal decided in my favor and returned my money.

I am a loyal customer. Once I find a place I like I tend to come back time and again. This company is certainly not one a person can feel loyal to. I'll take my time and money elsewhere.

Even if you do get seeds, how confident can you be that the seeds are authentic and a true variety?

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! I ordered several seed packets that never arrived. I have emailed twice and called 3 times but cannot contact anyone over there. A great way to ruin a season. Worst purchasing experience of my entire fifty-five years... or, attempt at purchasing. Basically, this tomato bob... if he indeed exists... is a thief. I'm out almost sixty dollars... have received no seeds after payment almost seven weeks ago. I received no response to my email inquiries... and only one return phone call after trying to reach them many times... no, this "business" does not answer the phone. The woman who returned my call, curiously, stated exactly what the positive review below states: "Maybe you gave us the wrong contact information". No, I know where I live... they had the correct contact information. I suppose there are thieves in every arena. There are many wonderful seed companies out there... don't attempt to purchase from these criminals.

Addendum: I really hope someone puts a stop to tomato bob's scam.

Watch out Bob; lawyers garden, too.

I'm not sure what others are talking about "fast & friendly" unless they work for the company. Because they don't seem to have a customer service. It's a shame considering the amount of business they could have gotten from me, as they are somewhat local to me. However these are unacceptable practices, and they will never receive business from me or any of my vendors.

Last year I ordered from this company and was very pleased with the transaction. I decided to order from them again this year. I received my order very quickly after ordering, and they had included some bonus seeds, which was very nice. However, they did not include one of the items that I had ordered. That particular item was the main reason for the order, everything else was just extra. I have contacted them numerous times by email, by telephone, and even attempted to contact them through paypal. They do not answer their phone, do not return messages left, and do not respond to emails. I have no recourse left but to post this and hope that maybe this will get their attention, and maybe I will get the item that I ordered or a refund.

I ordered $60 worth of seed and garlic from Bobs Heirloom Tomatos and have not received anything. I telephoned and left messages on their phone about 5 or 6 times, and they failed to call me back. I complained to paypal and they responded with a posting that they had trouble with their phones, and claimed they didn't have the order details. This was ludicrous since paypal itemized the order in the receipt they sent me, and one would think (since they use paypal) that they would simply look at the old order confirmations paypal keeps for eternity in your paypal account. Regardless, I asked them to telephone me. They have failed to telephone me. I have now escalated the complaint with paypal. I feel this company does nothing unless you beat them. BTW, I looked them up on Google Maps. The address is not for a farm, but for a tract home in a suburban development. I think Tomato Bob is a total fabrication. I don't know where he gets any seeds from, but it sure as heck doesn't look like it is from his own farm.

Today is 9-25-08, still no order. I have emailed Mr Price 6 times, called 8 times and left messages, and have received no response and no order to date. Filed a dispute with PayPal on 9-22-08 to see if I can atleast get my money back. The "Red Brandywine" packet contained only 12 seeds(advertised 20-25 Seeds).

My requests for replacement seeds have been ignored.

Its too late now to re-order, have missed sowing time for Zone 8A because of TomatoBobs indifference.
