I bought daylilies from Bentley Gardens through MamaJack co-op. So this is not a rating for Mamajack, she is a jewel to work with. My daylilies came just after Labor Day 2012. They came well packed and green. However they were the smallest fans. I thought well I got a great deal, half price right? Not so, he now has some on the auction for half of what I paid on the co-op. Lesson learned by me, check your prices even if you think the place is safe!!
What really was the cincher is when I posted my pictures of a daylily not doing well. Ed’s (Bentley Garden owner) reply was mulch your daylilies. Not sorry, I’ll send another, nothing. Then I did a comparison of daylilies from different venders that I have received after getting his order. What a big difference in price and size. I posted pictures on Ed’s daylily thread on the co-op of the comparison. His reply, “Wow, Julia thanks for the wonderful words”. Never heard another word from him, nothing! It will be years to see a bloom on these fans. Not happy and no bonus either.
I’m posting a neutral because I did get plants but would really like to post a negative for quality, size and customer relations.

On March 2, I ordered 2 hostas from this company through EBAY. I knew that I would not received them immediately because the weather hadn't been that great. However, when I didn't hear anything or receive my order by late March I emailed the company to ask about it. I was told that "they would be sent around the 1st week of April. They would be good to go, and they are coming up now, that it shouldn't be long now, and sorry for the wait." So I waited. When I didn't receive them by mid-April I again emailed the company, no response this time.

So today (4/23) I went into comments section on EBAY and saw that they had been shipping out hostas and that other customers had been receiving theirs this month. So where's mine?!

I'm very disappointed that I haven't received a response back from this company. If the hostas didn't survive the cold weather then my money should be refunded. I'm taking steps today to ask my bank to recoup my money. And I've also informed BG that I would be doing this.

People know who we are and are always happy with what they get, shame not everyone can be patient, it is only April, we didnt start shipping until April 1st

On 0/27/08 I placed an order via DG Marketplace. 10/29/08,I phoned them w/ my cc info. Talked to Mr Ed Thaublad. Seemed like a very nice person.He assured me it was safe to ship and I could hold the plant overwinter in my unheated greenhouse. He promised my plant would be shipped the following week. 11/19/08,I hadn't recieved my plant so I d-mail them. No reply. 11/25/08,I d-mailed again w/ details of my purchased,inquiring again if my plant had shipped.Again no response. 11/30/08,again and for the final time I d-mailed again w/ order info and inquiry about my order....once again No response!

Since this was an unknown company to me I only placed an order for one plant as a first run test and luckily my cc hasn't been debited and I will contact cc company to refuse them payment.This company has failed miserably for me.

I'll never be fooled by 100% rating again and will stick to my know plant and seed sources.

Finally contacted me on Jan. 5,2009. Two months later.He was very aplogetic. Said he had gotten very busy,forgot about my order and had gone off line for two months.He made a couple of very nice offers to make it up to me but as it's has gotten so late in the year I declined any shipments until spring at which time he asked me to retract my negative rating now saying since he hadn't charged my credit card that I wrong in posting a negative rating and it would hurt his spring business.At that I declined any offers as I didn't appreciate being made to feel I was in the wrong because I wasn't out of pocket and he was the injured party.

While I can not give Mr. Thaublad a positive rating as it was he as the businessman has the responsibilty to make sure ALL his customers are taken care of,I will change rating to neutral since he did make the gesture to correct his mistake.

Since he has had a 100% rating in the past,I'd say go ahead and order from his nursery.
