I placed an order for a Young Lady Smoke bush, 3 geraniums, and a agastache. Packing was very good. Order received in 3 days after ordering. The only reason for the neutral rating was the size of the plants. The Smoke bush was very small. The Agastache looked like a stick in a pot(After e-mailing the company was told it was dormant which might be true in Michigan-I live in Georgia) The only exception was the Geraniums, which were not a bad size and were healthy looking. Overall, this is a very well run nursery. I will change my rating to positive if plants establish themselves quickly and become a decent size.

ANOTHER NOTE: I RECEIVED IDENTICAL PLANTS FROM GOLDFINCH GARDENS AND HERE ARE THE COMPARISONS:
COTINUS YOUNG LADY SMOKEBUSH WAS 6" AND $8.21 AT DEER RESISTANT AND 18" AND $7.00 AT GOLDFINCH.
GERANIUM KARMINA WAS A 4" POT AND $6.45 AT DEER RESISTANT AND A QUART AND $3.50 AT GOLDFINCH
ALL THINGS CONSIDERED GOLDFINCH PROVIDED A BETTER QUALITY AND SIZE FOR LESS MONEY.

I placed a spring '05 order for several perennials and small shrubs. The Caryopteris divaricata were a bit on the small side, but everything was healthy, well-packed and a good value for the money.
I would order from this company again.

Orderd 2 butterfly bushes couple of weeks ago. Both had a huge root system and are now thrivinging in my butterfly sanctuary.

Top-notch source! Nothing but great experience. Satisfaction is guaranteed. Website ordering is easy, though more photos would be helpful. They encourage feedback on deer resistance. Different plant sizes offered. Quality is good. Shipping is one low price (try to find that anywhere else!) and the plants are very well packed. The stock continues to grow. The customer service is first-rate - friendly, courteous and prompt. I have not had any deer damage on any plant I've purchased from them. I wish more people knew about it. It's a great source for ALL gardeners - not just those of us with deer problems. Four stars.

Oh, what a delight it is to write about this nursery and the man who runs it.

1. The breadth of the offering is always expanding;
2. The offering is not run-of-the-mill; the species on offer always give interest;
3. The nursery’s presentation is honest (no wild claims about a plant’s being deerproof);
4. The owner operates a chat site where Bambi-bedraggled gardeners can commiserate with each other and share info or advice;

5. Easy-to-use website;
6. Promopt, personable customer service;
7. One (low) shipping price, no matter how many plants are ordered;
8. The best packaging any of us will ever see;

9 – 12. Plants are well rooted, pots are good-sized, prices are fair and plants perform splendidly.
