Comments regarding Trade Winds Fruit

Hi,
I just ordered few tropical fruits seeds from Trade Winds Fruit, for my friends in Buddhist monastary near Laos.
-Seeds was fast shipped.
-Seeds was very clean, in small plastic packets, clearly labelled with names species, and how to planting.

It's too early to say what is the sprouting rate of seeds (most important) but this compagny is very serious, very good !!

I ordered seeds of brugmansia and several varieties of passion fruit from Tradewindsfruitstore.com in October. Within a week, brugmansia was up, and within 2 weeks, all but one species of passion flower was up as well. (The latter known for being notoriously slow to germinate)
I have prepared a new order, and expect the same great service as before. I highly recommend this company to any and all who like to start from seed.

I have had a great experience with TWF. They shipped the same day, the package arrived very fast, and the seeds were well padded and kept moist. Communication has been great thus far - I would highly recommend this company!

I have ordered from Trade Winds Fruit three times this year already. My seeds have all arrived within a week's time and have had excellent germination. Even now I am germinating seeds from the company. Very pleased with my experience with this company.

I LOVE Trade Winds! I have ordered from this company four times this year (each order about 5-6 seed packets) and each time the shipping has been incredibly fast (recieved the packaged within less than a week of placing the order).

They also must've been feeling generous or something because I ordered some blue corn seeds with a stated limit of 10 seeds/pack and I received 14 seeds! Same thing happened with purple passionfruit - had a 10 seed limit and they gave me 12!

Germination has been very good with almost everything, I was especially impressed with the Passiflora actinia which started to pop up after only 19 days and had 100% germination rate by day 30. The only seeds I ordered that I couldn't get to germinate at all were tendersweet orange watermelon, but no big deal, it might have been my error anyway.

Ordered the seeds and got them two days later with free shipping. I mean wow, talk about great service. In addition to their fantastic service, they also have quite the diverse collection of seeds to choose from. I highly recommend ordering from this company.

I have ordered "many" times with this company. All my seeds have been quickly mailed and packaged perfectly. I've gotten some great hard to find fresh seeds also....right now I have a clove growing after 1 year....great company and I can't recommend enough. Will always buy first from them.

I ordered from Trade Winds back in December. Despite it being about a week before Christmas, I received my order in just a few days. I love the free shipping on orders over $7.50. I started my seeds a couple of weeks ago and so far germination rates have been great. I will definitely be ordering from them in the future.

I have ordered from Tradewinds numerous times over the last 3 years or so. I have always received my orders quickly and correct. The seed germination rates are great, much better than other well known companies. I will continue to order from this company.

I was apprehensive about ordering from them after reading and seeing some of the ratings but I received my seeds fairly quickly and they even sent me an email to let me know when they were shipped. I would buy from them again.

Order received in a timely manner and will use them in the future as needed.

I placed an order for tomato and pepper seeds on Wednesday and received them on Saturday. Super fast shipping, reasonable prices. No frills but good quantity of seeds. Recommended.

They seem to have possibly the most unique group of seeds I've seen on the internet. After e-mailing them about some suggestion plants that might do well in my greenhouse I ordered a few tropicals and some pepper seeds. Germination has been very good, especially for the often pesky peppers! Order arrived 48 hours after I ordered!---(I am in the city next door to them.)

My wife made an order of $25.30 USD with them about one month ago. Never received this order. Sent them 3 emails and they insist to not reply.. She has open a dispute at Paypal hoping to receive our money back. NEVER AGAIN wants to make transactions with this company.

First experience with Trade Wind Fruits has been very pleasant. They have a rich variety of seeds offered, and the prices are extremely affordable, with free shipping for orders over $7.50. I placed my order on Dec 7th, and the order arrived fast, in a week. I received a confirmation email as well. The seeds look good, packed with concise but helpful instructions.
I am preparing a second order, as some seeds have seasonal availability, and I'm looking forward for many more purchases from this company!

I'm actually between postive and neutral for this company...Their prices are amazingly cheap and shipping is not bad. Do be careful though as some of the seeds are only short-lived even if not stated on the info. So please do your part as a buyer by researching the seeds that you would like to buy.

On their part however....the instructions for chinese hawthorn stated that it should be germinated in warm/hot conditions BUT these seeds require WARM AND COLD stratification (warm outside, and then stratify them cold in the fridge).

I'll give them a positive just because they have alot of seeds to choose from at a cheap price.

I ordered numerous exotic seeds 05/07. I got some of them in 3 weeks time (to Finland, slow, but reasonable). The germination rate was very poor.

I was promised the missing seeds from the next harvest late in 2007. Never got them. By the time I started asking for them the time limit for Paypal dispute had exeeded. I contacted the customer services via email -no answer.

Their website says they are yet again out of stock and will receive seeds from the next harvest late 2008. I will keep trying to contact and keep you posted!

Ordered many tropical fruit seeds and having good germination rates thus far. Also ordered some vegetable seeds and they were good and vigorous. With free shipping as well, I'm very happy and will order from this company again.

Many rare varieties of seed, extremely cheap prices and shipping. Seeds were mailed promptly, and made it to Canada in a week. This company seems to have improved substantially of late: last season, my seeds took a month to arrive, and numerous inquiries on my part resulted in zero replies. I have received seeds from them that were clearly long past viable (batnut in particular), but many others have been fine. So, overall, a positive review given low prices, fast shipping and selection, but buyer beware on seed that must be fresh, and the total lack of customer service, in my experience.

I've ordered from Trade Winds on numerous occasions and have always been pleased. Their prices are very reasonable, (I love free shipping over $7.50!) they have an extensive collection and everything has always arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I like the fact that they send out approximately 10 seeds per packet, that's more than enough for my purposes, and allows more people to purchase rarer seeds. I love Trade Winds Fruit and will continue to order from them.

I ordered some pre-germinated cinnamon tree seeds, and three out of four of the little plants seem to be doing nicely. Although the other one probably won't make it, I'm quite satisfied with the results, since I haven't been able to germinate cinnamon tree myself. Although I also ordered a few other seeds this time, I haven't gotten around to trying them yet! But I recall that I was quite happy with the hibiscus taiwanensis seeds I received in a previous order. A lovely flower!

I ordered pepperseeds 07/12/07. Confirmation of posting by airmail to Belgium was sent 07/17/07. Many sellers charge huge shipping costs, this company charges almost nothing for shipment. Bravo.

I've ordered from these guys 3 or 4 times. It ususally takes them a couple of weeks to fulfill orders, but I've always received my seeds. The quality of the seeds is pretty decent. A fairly high percentage of them germinate. I've been a happy customer and continue to order.

Ordered my seeds on the 16th of March 07
Got an e-mail they were being shipped on the 22nd.
Got them on the 24th.

Not Bad!!

I did get a notice that two of the seeds that I'd ordered "could not be shipped at this time" and they will be sent when available (1 month). I wish they had listed that on the website BUT I'm much happier with that than them shipping me bum seeds just to fill my order.

I would do business with this company again.

I placed my order on Wednesday and received my seeds on Saturday - 3 days coast to coast, regular shipping!! The seeds look fresh and healthy - I'll update my comments with germination results.

Three weeks went by and I never received my order. I emailed and they replied within a reasonable amount of time telling me that they were busy collecting seeds and that some of those seeds were a part of my order. That was okay, I was glad to get the reply. I got my order about a week later. 1 month total from order to delivery. They are located about a 1/2 hour away from me. I wish I could have just picked my order up. :)

I would like to remind people that tropical seeds germination rate can vary from batch to batch. In some variety of seeds, if you get 1 out of 20 seeds to germinate, then it's a sucess.Some seeds can take two weeks to a year to germinate.I have been dealing with this company for 5 years now. They have been by far the best source of hard to find seeds that you can find on the web.Great to deal with. I have had 75% germination rate on most of the seeds i have ordered from them.

I have ordered twice from this company with good results. My kaffir limes germinated very well. Seeds arrived promptly (I was careful to not order anything currently unavailable). Few on-line catalogs offer such a wide selection!

This upcoming season will be the third I've had ordering from Trade Winds. I order tomatoes from them each year and have had great germination success. I have also bought a few tropicals for the greenhouse and am always impressed with the conditions the seed arrives. Tropicals are always tricky and in some cases makes a big difference if the seeds are packed well. Over a dozen orders and all have been received quickly. I've emailed customer service a few times about various plant questions and they've always been helpfull.

Ordered seeds on 10/26/06. Emailed them several times with no response.
Have not received them as of today.
Placed a claim with PayPal to get my money back.

I placed an order for ~8 packets of seed and received the shipment in less than a week. They have a great selection of seeds that I haven't seen anywhere else, so if I get decent germination from these I'm sure I'll be going back!

I placed my small order for 5 different packages of seeds on October 5, received a confirmation of my order almost immediately, and a day of so later received an email that the seeds were shipped on October 6. I live in Nova Scotia, so I did not expect to see the seeds in short order, but they arrived on October 12th! Everything I had ordered was nicely packed in a padded envelope and arrived safely. I'm pleased!

I have ordered almost a dozen times from Trade Winds and have had nothing but positive experiences. The seeds arrived quickly and the germination rates were high. Seeds ordered such as curry, cherimoya, inga, citrus, canna's, fuchsia's, etc. They were also very helpful to me in identifying some fruits a friend had brought back from Hawaii as well. I have been ordering tropicals from quite a few companies for the last 10 years and Trade Winds gets high praise from me.

I placed an order with Trade Winds Fruit on July 11. After one month passed and I hadn't heard a thing from the company I began sending e-mails to the addresses listed on heir site. No response period. I can�t even tell if they are still in business.

Finally, being unable to reach them at all, and not receiving the order, I launched a complaint with PayPal, the company they use to process orders.

I definitely would NOT Recommend this company to fellow gardeners. If they are still in business, they aren�t acting like it.

I tried the experience aware of the negative comments since it wasn't expensive to get the seeds I was after. Germination rate wasn't too good, you could see that some seeds weren't collected fully ripe. 2 out of ten varieties germinated well though.

The only reason I ordered from this company to start out with is that they stock many rare and hard to find seeds. A friend of mine ordered from them, and liked what he had gotten, but had said that they were tight with the amount of seeds they send, and that there is no specific mention of how many seeds you will receive. I ordered anyway because I only really needed a couple of each plant.

Ordered and paid for on 5/1 by 5/22 when I had not received anything, I left an e-mail that went unanswered. I left 5
e-mails over 6 days that all went unanswered. I had to contact PayPal to get my money back (which I did).
PayPal should FORCE sellers to list an active phone number for customer support/service. I consider PayPal to be as much at fault for doing business with this company. They can see how many times they have had to issue refunds to buyers because this company is SO messed up.

This company hides behind a Post Office Box and e-mail so that they NEVER have to deal customers directly. I WOULD AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.
