Comments regarding Nor' East Miniature Roses® (division of Greenheart Farms, Inc.)

The website failed to explain that a street address was needed for shipping. No clue even by letting me know the method of shipping (e.g. FEDEX). When a customer service rep called to request my street address, she failed to lift the permanent hold on shipping, even though she gave me a ship date. After the ship date came and went by two days I called. The service I received on the phone was less than spectacular, close to rude. At least I was promptly given a credit, although I feel compelled to verify on my credit card statement in case someone "forgot" again. I never got to find out the quality of the product because I could not get past the poor service on the website and two phone calls.

I received a whole carton of healthy roses, all with buds and several in bloom 4 days after I ordered them. I am going to plant them in the ground so they will need to get used to the outdoors for a couple of weeks. This is the second time I have ordered and all the plants have been perfect. Plus, they have the most wonderful fragrant varieties.

The mini's I receive from this company amaze me. This years order was already in bloom and one plant was already about 15" tall. Everything is healthy and vigorous. Last years order was just as nice. I received my order in less than a week from placing it. I am really impressed. The 'crackerjack' rose they sent with my order is also beautiful & healthy.

I love miniature roses, and this time around I decided to buy the best I could find---intended for planting outdoors. And *boy* did I get them! What a wonderful company! Out of 6 roses received a week ago, 3 are blooming in multiple and all were healthy, clean, disease-free and in perfect health! Out of all, my favorite has ended up being the 1/2 price special they throw in with the purchase of 5. Superb plants, excellent prices, wonderful communication with the buyer. I couldn't recommend buying miniature roses from any other company. They have some unusuals I've never seen before. I recommend them highly!

I ordered my first mini-roses with a few friends and was absolutely delighted with all 12 they sent. Each one was fully leafed out and had buds or blooms! I didn't know how special this was until the competitors order came in (a day later) with not a leaf or bud on a single one of them, I also would highly recommend them!

Just received two of my three orders from them. All seven plants looked very healthy. Three were sporting beautiful blooms already. I am very impressed with the quality of the plants. I highly recommend this company.

I ordered a bunch of roses from them late May. I received them very quickly and found that one of the roses I ordered was very small, but handwritten on the invoice "Dazzler is a bit on the small side, but it will catch up. Live wire is sent as a cracker jack"

Basically, because they felt the rose I ordered is smaller, they've automatically included another rose as a gift.

Dazzler ended up losing all its leaves and about a month later, I contacted Nor'east to ask them what can I do to boost the poor little rose. The representative determined that it was probably dead and they'll send me a replacement of my choice, which was sent overnight. Overall, I've had excellent service from them. I would definitely order from them again.

I ordered from them for the first time this year and I'm very pleased with the 2 miniature roses I received.Will order from them again.

Have placed 2 large orders with this company. Shipment comes on time, and plants are adequate. Out of the 20 roses I have ordered, I still have 11 and they are doing fine. (The other 9 I didn't like)

I ordered two Climbing Rainbow's End which arrived about 10 days after the order was placed. The plants were packed well and looked healthy, not even any yellow leaves. I'm looking forward to ordering from them again.

I could not be more pleased with the 10 roses I ordered from Nor'East in the middle of summer '03. Planted within a week they immediately started bloming their little hearts out. Communication with the Company was also excellent. Packing was excellent. They are all growing beautifully now even though they had no winter protection and I am looking for space to put some more.

I ordered 6 roses from them two years ago. They arrived quickly and in a vigorous, healthy condition. I also received some extra roses that I hadn't ordered. When I called to ask about it, they told me to keep them and enjoy them. Turns out I like those better than the originals. :)

Great experience. Ordered online 2/15 for roses to be delivered on/around 4/15. My card was charged 4/9 for the order and everything arrived on 4/16 in wonderful shape via USPS. Will be ordering from them again!

The good: The roses they sent look nice and healthy.

The bad:
I ordered 3 minis and a mini tree rose in early to mid January, to be sent later for outdoor planting. They cashed my check within a couple of weeks but I never received any order acknowledgement. In April, with my roses well-leafed out and new perennials all in the ground, I began to wonder where my roses were. I e-mailed them on a Thursday. When I hadn't received any reply by the end of the next Tuesday, I called them and was told my roses were scheduled to be shipped the next Monday (coincidence?). Incidentally, I never did get any reply to my e mail.

On Wednesday, I got my roses. The packing was so-so - three minis were individually wrapped in brown paper, and stuffed into a 3" x 12" x 15" Priority Mail box, with no padding (not that they needed it - the pots were so wedged in there that one round pot had a good bit of its soil squeezed out and all three had some exposed roots). Still, these plants looked very good, even the one missing part of its soil.

The packing slip listed 3 roses, with absolutely no mention of the tree rose. I called. I was told that they were out of the tree roses and they hadn't charged me for it. I told her I sent them a check. She sounded surprised. I asked if they planned to refund my money. She said they went through all the invoices each week and she expects they'll send a check then.

Why did they hang on to my money for 3 months, if they were out of the tree roses? Or do they not reserve plants for people who order for later shipment? And why did I have to actually call them, to find out what happened to my rose?

Although the roses I did get look good, I didn't like the way they handled my business. I doubt if I'd ever order from these people again.

excellent this company sets the highest standard for mini roses, all of the many roses i ordered were wonderful and performed well the first year, they managed to survive an extremely cold winter. which is rare, a cold winter, in my area in pots. the cracker jack rose was glorious and one of my favorites. i cannot say enough glowing things about these roses and this company. magnificent. i hope now that they have switched to california that nothing changes. beautiful healthy roses.

I am a new customer to this company and decided to try them out. I ordered 5 roses plus a cracker jacks rose. When they arrive they were so big and root bounded to their small 2" pots that I had to immediately plant them into a gallon pots right away. From there on, they exploded into beautiful bushes. My cracker jack rose turned out to be Absolutely- a lovely rose, and I am very pleased. As you can tell I am a satisfied customer; so satisfied that I have recently order another 5 minature roses from them.

Bought 4 roses last spring, they arrived as stated grew well and flowered profusely, no problems at all

John Saville has stepped down in the company and the customer service has not gotten off to a good start so far I have sent them 2 e-mail messages since friday of last week and one last night and not a one person has gotten back to me so far. This is not good! People better start searching for another miniature rose nursery.

I have bought miniature roses from Nor'East twice now. My roses from them are top quality. They are by far the fastest at shipping! I will definitely buy from them again.

I ordered two "Red Scentsation" roses last week- my first order with this company. The roses arrived just a couple days later, healthy, green, and actually in bloom! They smell wonderful, and I can't wait to plant them. The prices are very reasonable, too. I will definitely order from this company again.

I have purchased many miniature roses from this company over the last four years. I have always been impressed with the quality of the plants and the speed of delivery. The plants are so much bigger than those I've purchased from other suppliers. They often are already in bloom. I usually put them in 6 inch pots for about a month before transplanting them into the garden, at which time they have great root systems. Nor'East has a great variety of roses, too, and their web site is very informative. I've only had to contact customer service once, and the rep I talked to was very helpful. They don't charge your credit card until the order ships. Don't hesitate to do business with this company.

I have ordered from NorEast for the past 5 years. Each time I have recieved roses of the best quality and condition, many times in bloom. They have excellent packaging and service.

Great company to deal with! My first order from them was last year (2002), for 6 roses, (I am a novice rosarian so I also ordered their video.) 1 died shortly after it arrived and they replaced it, no questions asked. Today (5/19/03) I placed an order for 24 more. All of the roses I bought last year survived our harsh NY winter. If you are considering ordering from Nor-East, but are nervous about mail order roses...just do it! You won't be sorry.

What a great experience! Ordered 3 minis -- 2 "Jeanne LaJoie," one "Bambino" -- and they arrived about a week later in a FedEx box. They were bigger than I expected, perfect and healthy and covered with buds. They've been in the ground a couple weeks now, and have started to bloom. Gorgeous. I recommend this company very highly.

I ordered 4 different roses. I have never had luck with roses and all 4 that I purchased from Nor'East are growing for the 3rd year! Would not hesitate to order from again. They spent a significant amount of time helping me choose the varieties that I purchased.

I order a dozen mini's from them last year. They all arrived in decent shape and quickly grew.

I have been using this company for 3 years - I order from them every season and I am extremely pleased with the plants. My orders arrive quickly, the roses are in great shape, most of them already blooming...My only complaint is that the selection is somewhat limited and I am forced to order from other places as well. One thing that I absolutely love about them is that you get a cracker-jack rose at 3.95 and they send you whatever they have available, so I got to try couple of plants that I wouldn't have picked otherwise.

I've ordered from this company several times over the last couple years and have pleased each time. Fast shipping, very well-packaged plants, and nice, healthy (well-rooted) little roses. They also have a wide selection. They continue to help set the standard for mail order nurseries!!

I have ordered 96 miniature roses from various online sources, and NorEast has by far the best quality plants I have received. They may not have the best selection list, but each plant they ship is a quality plant. I will only do business with them from now on when I need miniatures.

Wonderful plants! I purchased seven roses for my greenhouse in early fall. They sent nice size plants, which immediately took off, and are blooming now, only two months later.

Purchased 5 minis from them last month. Order arrived within two weeks and all plants were in excellent condition, all with buds. They are growing very well. I would definitely order from Nor'East again.

I have over 30 roses from this nursery and 3 years of experience ordering from them. This is by far the best rose nursery I have dealt with and I strongly recommend it to anyone. The prices are great, the plants come in a great shape, most have blooms and they establish quickly. I prefer the miniature roses, because they bloom more profusely than any of the "regulars" I have, are very easy to take care of (i.e. spraying and bed cleaning). In the meantime I had 8 Heirloom roses, 2 are dead (brown rot or something like that) and one was almost without roots - not sure whether it will make it.

I ordered four miniature rose plants this spring (2001) - all four plants arrived in excellent shape, very healthy - big buds on them and all bloomed profusely and grew rapidly over the summer. The selection of minis they have available is great and their pricing/shipping format is simple and very easy to use. I also like the helpful hints on the website. I will be ordering again this spring!

The Savilles run a small operation with a limited selection of roses. But such healthy specimens! And such friendly service! The focus clearly is on quality. Just a few new specimens are introduced each year, and the owners kindly note when a variety is being discontinued, so fans can stock up. Plants, often in bud, are wrapped with care and shipped speedily. And Nor'East has the best shipping price of all the growers: Less than $7, priority shipped, for any amount of plants. The color catalog is free and the web site is easy to navigate. Beginners should head straight for Nor'East.

I ordered roses late last June and was quite surprised at the great plants I received. I planted them and they grew and bloomed and are growing great this spring. I plan on ordering more roses this year, as soon as I find a place to plant more.

I don't know about the company, never got around to ordering. I was immediately put off by the use of clearing my browser cache, which wouldn't allow me to "back out" of their site. I for one refuse to do business with any company that uses tactics such as this.

I got married in June and since June is "rose month" I decided to give miniature rose bushes as a wedding favor to my guests. The people at Nor'East were very helpful with the selection and they made sure that the plants I received would have blooms rather than just getting greens. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with them and the roses were beautiful and a big hit with my guests.

I went a little overboard this year with their catalogue and ordered 18 plants - 15 Pacific Serenade and then 3 plants of their choosing at a special price. The plants arrive already in bloom and absolutely gorgeous! They have been in the ground for about a month now and every plant is blooming and doing really well - I was also delighted with the 3 other plants that I got - they coordinated beautifully with the Pacific Serenade. John Saville was a delight to deal with and if I can find more room in my garden I will definitely be ordering more from John and Nor'east.

I ordered this year from Nor'East Miniature Roses and they are delightful. This is my first experience with mini roses and the plants arrived in wonderful condition and have performed splendidly. Very pleased. Would highly recommend.
