I placed a $72 order in February via the internet.  When I had heard nothing from them I emailed them.  They did not answer so I faxed them as their phone number is always busy.  When they did not answer I emailed again and this time asked for a cancellation.  They finally answered.  While I have had trouble getting the wrong items or missing items in the past I was able to resolve them satisfactorly.  This year customer service in nonexistent. Their seed packets have always held much less than other companies but I was willing to deal with that for good service, but no more.  They have lost a long term client who has spent hundreds of dollars with them.  They apparently have gotten too big to care about return business.  There is no way to check on an order on the buggy internet site...that might have helped?

Sent order for 14 items in first week of February. Check cashed on February 12. After three weeks and hearing nothing, I left a message on their answering machine. On March 11, I received 9 of the 14 items, and a note that 4 others were out of stock and being backordered. Checked today , 3/19, and the backordered items are still not in. Should I ever receive the backordered items, it will be far too late-- so I will get substitutes (not what I would wish) from the rack at a Home Depot. I have ordered from Pinetree in the past, and they have ocassionally been out of stock, but the combination of excessive delay and out of stock items this year has been the nail in the coffin. I will not order from them next year.

It pains me to give my favorite seed company a negative review, but they deserve it. I sent off my order on 2/6/09, my check was cashed on 2/11.

I still haven't received the order. After checking the website and reading the warning about extended shipping times, I called the company and talked to a worker who said they were currently processing orders dated 2/17. Well, my order was already cashed 6 days earlier, but she didn't explain why it wasn't ready yet.

My emails have gone unanswered, and this really surprises me because Pinetree has always given me good and quick replies before, and I've used the company for years.

Like so many other Pinetree customers I'm behind in starting my plants. If the company knows it has a problem why doesn't it hire additional help to work on the orders? Surely there are people willing to do this job? A timely turnover of orders is vital to the success of a business, I should think.

I'm dismayed that my gardening season is off to such a bad start. Like other gardeners I rely on my home-grown plants, and Pinetree has - up until now - been a big part of this. But since my business is handled so poorly I will take it elsewhere.

I'd like the company to address the lengthy shipping times on this forum. Pinetree has many loyal customers and they deserve better than this!!

I ordered over a month ago and still haven't received my order. Their phone line always seems to be busy and two of my emails have not been answered. They did respond to my first one because we were gone and all the other seed orders were here and I thought something might have happened to the Pinetree order, but it just hadn't been sent yet.

I have liked Pinetree in the past and am hoping this is just a one time thing. I ordered at the same time last year and don't remember any problem with delays. I hope they will assure their customers delivery of their orders in a timely manner next spring.

I ordered 25 packs of seeds on Feb 15, 2009. Needing to start the tomato and pepper seedlings, on March 19th, I called to ask what was going on. I was told it would be at least another 2 weeks before they got to my order in the warehouse. Then I would have to wait for shipping. I cancelled my order, and bought locally. When I called to cancel my order, I asked for an email confirmation of the cancellation, just as I had received an email confirmation of my order. I was haughtily told that phone confirmation would have to do. I've had trouble with shipping and customer service with this company before, but this time, I've vowed to never order from them again.

I can't believe a business runs like this.

I had originally ordered from Park Seeds, but had to cancel the order,
given they operate fraudulently, without actual stock.
(I should have found about Dave's Garden before!)

So is there any American seed company that actually ships
upon receiving an order — not WEEKS or MONTHS later ?

Disheartened.

Shipping when stated as being " within a week" often takes a month or more. E-mails are not responded to and customer service is not too helpful or friendly.

I have been lucky on occasion but due to extremely poor communication and slow and inconsistent shipping, I will go to other sites that value their customers.

But I still get seed catalogs from someone I don't order from and in each case I've inquired where they got my name/address and the response has been "Pinetree". Pinetree almost never responds to email questions. This spring the usual order I place with them will instead go to Fedco or Territorial or Johnnys or someone else that pays attention to customer service.

She hung up on me after finally admitting that my order was being filled by an outside "mailing service," and was not being mailed by first class mail. They charged $3.50 for shipping 4 packets of seeds. That person said she had no idea when my order would be delivered, and said I should call the Post Office about it. How this place can stay in business is beyond my imagination.

I ordered blueberries, purple asparagus, seeds and innoculant in late March, and they arrived OK about 2 weeks later. The staff were pleasant and seeds and innoculant worked well. When the asparagus grew green, I eventually found out on my own on the internet that purple asparagus stems do that (Pinetree said purple asparagus starts green and becomes purple, but apparently it's actually the reverse). The blueberries appeared small, and the Elliott had only some thread roots (I separate roots by hand on planting, and so see them directly). Pinetree said to be patient, and the thread roots without any main roots were due to the Elliott ripening later. I pointed out this was irrelevant, and after continuing uninformative email communications, eventually went to our area's best full-service nursery about 15 miles away to check things out. The nursery's same-age plants were twice the stem thickness of Pinetree's, with more stems and much more robust growth. I estimated the Pinetree plants at about a year old rather than 2 years as advertised, which meant that fruiting would be delayed an additional year. Pinetree then owned up that their plants are tissue-culture grown and smaller. I complained to Pinetree about their uninformative and misleading advertising, with no further response. I've replaced one blueberry, and am looking to replace the other. Overall, a mixed esperience, but since the blueberries were the most expensive, they determine the rating.

On Jan 2, 2008 I ordered seeds from 5 companies. Pinetree's order was the second order to arrive, in about a week. I have ordered from Pinetree for at least 10 years now and I am consistently happy with their service and quality. They are a great company for the backyard gardener, because they sell small quantities at reasonable rates. In addition, I was happily surprised by the changes they have made to their website this year. It is much easier to navigate and order, and much more fun to use.

I am sorry to have to change my rating from positive to negative. This year I placed my order via internet on Feb 27th, paying extra for "24-hour in house processing". Now, a month later, still no seeds! Several days ago I started writing emails and leaving phone messages, but as yet no one has even bothered to return any of my messages. I had used this company for 10 years, but I agree with another poster that their service is decreasing while their prices are increasing. At the very least I expect to get my money back for the expedited processing, but when you can't get a human to speak to you, this becomes difficult!I believe this will be the last year I will order from them. I am saddened that a company I have depended on so long has become like a whole different company!

Until a year ago, I lived 4 miles from Pinetree. I enjoyed recommending them for specific items. I enjoyed their onsite sales, geared towards being a community minded business. I was also allowed to go inside to pick out my own bulbs/roots. I did find that as a so-so gardener the germination of some seeds required more than I was willing to give. I will defend the amount of seeds in a packet for an affordable price. Other companies I end up with left over seeds and can only hope they will germinate next year. As a 'wanna-be-gardener' I would not recommend Pinetree for SOME seeds and products. You need to have more experience especially with some of the more exotic species. I actually applied for a seasonal job there to fill that dreary time of year in Maine but never got called.
Pinetree is a small business that does not waste money on glitzy catalogs or comfortable space for the human element (especially the lack of parking spaces). They do spend their time working with new product and being real. It's nice to call a place and know you're speaking to them. I now live in the LaSal Mts in Utah at 7750' elavation and my gardening knowledge is in its' infancy...again. I don't know when I'll be ordering seeds or bulbs again, but I still enjoy many of their other products.

On June 30th, 2008, Kaylar changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following:

I am unfortunately changing my previous 'neutral' rating to negative. Mostly because of how I was responded to after I sent a 'suggestion' email. I can't (or don't know how) to paste the to & from emails here but would be happy to get others thoughts on how I was dealt with. My suggestion regarded the idea of notifying people when live plants were being shipped. I was notified that contacting 'thousands' of clients was too much for them to handle. There are several internet companies I deal with that notify me when non-perishables are shipped. I live 25 miles from my shipping address, fuel is expensive. Am I supposed to stay home from Apr-June? I'm still waiting for the last 4 live plants for my Apr-June and it's June 30th and 100F. at my mailing center. I also want to wish to agree that 50 zuchini seeds is definitely more than desirable, but 10 Pampas grass seeds, and not a one made it (could be me). I was charged in triplicate for this order back in Feb. (which I did get fixed, but it was stupid on their part and a waste of my time), and I also had to pay for the Yam roots in Feb which did not arrive until May (3 out of 12 survivied). All in all, I was doing ok with Pinetree until the email regarding my suggestion. My thoughts there is that no one else in the company saw my email. Hard copies are going to the companies president. I believe my relationship with Pinetree is over and as an unhappy client I will let people who ask, the cons of ordering before the pros.

Last spring I ordered a mushroom kit and some seeds in late March. The final date to order the mushrooms was within that week, so I ordered before that date. The seeds came quickly, but the mushroom kit came in late April, and came from a different company. After reading for the first time in the instructions that temps in the 50's are needed to grow mushrooms, I immediately emailed them that I could not provide the proper temps in my area in April. It took quite a while to get a reply, and got a very terse, "Go ahead and try it." Not a Try it and let us know how it goes, which should have been a clue.

I did try it, followed directions to a "t" and nothing happened - I just misted a very expensive box of dirt for a few weeks.

I emailed them several weeks ago, and have had no reply. The box of dirt and spores cost over $30! I can get high quality seeds from countless other companies that have excellent customer service, unlike theirs.

I will not trade with this company again.

I placed a very small (thankfully!!) order from Pinetree last month. FIrst of all their site wasn't current and the book I ordered wasn't available and I wasn't notified this PRIOR to shipment or I'd have cancelled my order compltetely. And the blueberry bush I ordered as an afterthought since the book was on sale was pathetically small and looks as though it may not make it. But my BIGGEST disappointment is in the customer service. I emailed them three different times to let them know about my disappointment with my order and not once have I heard from them. Every single other gardening company I've ordered from has always made good on their products. So my opinion is save your money and order elsewhere- I certainly will be!!

I placed an order on 12-26-06. While the majority of the order arrived fairly promptly, one item was back ordered (replacement cover for greenhouse structure). A note was sent saying the iterm was backordered, and the item would be sent when they have it in stock - usually within 30 days. On 1-30-2007 I emailed the company to find out the status since I had heard nothing. January 31 I received a response saying they were still waiting for the item to come in - would I like to cancel - with no indication of when the item was expected. I sent a subsequent email asking when the item was expected, heard nothing back, sent another email 6 days later, only to be told on 2-7- 07 "it could be another month". I realize they are probably dealing with a distributor to fill their order, but would have been more satisfied if they had given me some idea when the item was expected (or that they had no clue) when I inquired - instead of just offering to cancel the order outright. I want the item, but need it before time for the seedings to be placed in the greenhouse.

On February 10th, 2007, shermsgarden changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following:

I sent another inquiry to see if I would likely get the product before I needed to put my seedlings out - the response, "I am not sure if it will be longer than a month. Let us know if you can't wait any longer."

"Let us know if you can't wait any longer"???"

I am sorry, but as a business owner, I don't talk to a customer that is waiting for a product this way. The order is getting cancelled I will take my business elsewhere.

On February 13th, 2007, shermsgarden added the following:

They offered a product in their catalog - I ordered it. All I expected was to receive the item in a reasonable time - or at least expecting more than "let us know when you cannot wait any longer" response. I only wanted a response as to when it realistically might be received. If not a month, 2 or 3 or 6? I was purchasing a garden product afterall - and wanted to know whether it was even possible to get it this growing season. I changed to a negative rating as I felt their "let us know when you cannot wait any longer" response was poor customer service. Not because I might have had to wait, but because the response appeared to me to be poor way to respond to a customer inqury about their product. I understood, as I said in my intial response, that it might be a distributor issue. The response to my change in rating is a tirade on on not being their "real" customer, "negative" ratings for whomever I may have purchased prior products from, profitablility, etc. Please read Pinetree's response carefully, it seems to me to further demonstrate the customer service attitude that I objected to originally. I thought being a "real" customer was defined by ordering a product from you catalog? I actually ordered the item the day I cancelled this order and receive a response and the item promptly.
On February 13th, 2007, shermsgarden added the following:

Note: Just to clarify, I reordered the item from someone else.
On Feb 8, 2007, Pinetree Garden Seeds responded with:

On Feb 12, 2007 6:21 PM, Pinetree Garden Seeds added:

Hello - we try to offer these replacement covers as a convenience to our customers - you didn't buy the greenhouse from us. Why aren't you "negative" towards the vendor who sold you the greenhouse and then did nothing to support it? That is not uncommon - Smith and Hawken sells the replacement for 20 bucks and we have it for $7.95 all of the other folks who sell the greenhouse don't seem to be interested in the hassles of dealing with the spare parts. Initially we had 20 pieces which went very quickly - i hope to our "real" customers - those who purchased the greenhouse from us. Now I'm told there are 250 units with our name on them in China. If we don't actually lose money on the deal i might consider air freight - for the sake of those who have been waiting patiently - not you. If that is too expensive it will be a couple of months. Since the demand for the replacements is double the number of greenhouses we sold it would appear that we are servicing the needs of everyone who bought one of these greenhouse - regardless of who from. Believe me, the replacement cover isn't nearly as profitable as the greenhouse which someone else sold you.
When our computer again shows the item as available it will mean that they are on the shelf. You were always offered a refund and the responses you were given were accurate. We don't know when they will come. Meiners - Owner"

The disputed charge also included a charge for the out of stock packet, so I was charged for 16 packets of seeds on the disputed charge. The company says I placed the (extact same) order one week apart using the same credit card number. About half my order (the seeds) arrived nearly a month after I had ordered them - I'd forgotten that I'd even ordered anything from them. I called and emailed about the missing half of my order and got no response. The roots and Rhizomes arrived about two months after I had ordered them, and a month past the date I wanted to get them in the ground. They were all in terrible shape, the Hop Rhizomes I had ordered were basically half wrapped in cellophane and were shrivelled up. I planted them anyways, but nothing grew.

While Pine Tree Seeds has a great selection and reasonable prices, beware their delivery system and customer service. If you have spring fever and want an order filled quickly, don't turn to Pine Tree.

I placed an order with Pine Tree on Jan. 21, and after 2 calls and 1 e-mail (to which I received a rather rude response) they were finally able to tell me it shipped on Jan. 24. Pine Tree is in Maine and I'm in Central New York. It took 3 weeks for the package to show up. Someone might as well have walked it the whole way. I’m fairly certain that the package did ship when they said it did. Whatever shipping method they use, though, is sub par.

On top of shipping problems, this company’s customer service is awful. The staffers manning the phone and e-mail are poorly organized and lack the basic ability to track an order on site and via the mail. They’re also dour, tactless, and sarcastic. After calling once I found myself thinking, “Well, maybe I am wasting their time here. Perhaps it is unreasonable to insist on tracking a package charged to my credit card 2 ½ weeks ago.” Then I remembered that this was a *company* I was dealing with and as such they should have enough sense to hire customer service workers who are actually pleasant and personable. Pine Tree might want to take some pointers from companies that have good customer service, like Bluestone Perennials, Gardener’s Supply, and Park Seed.

On August 28th, 2006, margored added the following:

Several months after placing my first order with Pinetree I have firmly decided never to use this company again. Germination rates for most seeds were fine, but based on the warnings of other reviewers I'm not going to try using any leftover seed next season. The reason why they give such a small amount of seeds (and why the price is so low): poor germination rates after the first year. You have to re-buy from year to year. In addition, six packets aren't always pure. I sprouted what was labeled as lemon balm and ended up growing arugula. Very irresponsible and unprofessional. While Pinetree seed packets are "cute," they provide little growing information. Nothing on light requirements, days to germination, plant spacings, special growing requirements. You have to consult their catalog or - more often - some outside reference book for this info.

I would like to reiterate that Pinetree orders often take a long time to process and can arrive much later than you anticipate. A friend ordered seed potatoes in mid-spring and received her shipment in early summer, pretty late for planting. My Pinetree potatoes arrived relatively on time, but ended up tasteless and bland.

Next year I'm going to skip Pinetree altogether and go with Fedco. The prices there are good, as is the variety. The catalog is much more informative. All around it's a much better source of affordable quality seeds, plants, and tubers. Pinetree Garden Seeds - looks good on paper, pretty poor in reality.

Unbelievably bad customer service. I placed an order on the 8th of February and was told that same day via email that my order, invoice number 33461, had been shipped and processed.

On the 20th of February, I started to wonder why it hadn't arrived yet and emailed. I was told it had shipped on the 13th.

On the 24th, it still hadn't arrived, so I called customer service. They assured me it had been shipped. I asked for a tracking number, and they called me back with it, advising me the package was at my local USPS facility.

I put the tracking number into the USPS online tracker and received this message:

Label/Receipt Number: 9102 0779 7486 8164 7139 56
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on February 21, 2006 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

I called them back and told her the package hadn't been shipped at all, and that only on the 21st had the label even been printed. She said that this was the message the postal service gave when the item was in the customer's local facility. I was pretty sure she was incorrect, that this message was an indication the label had been printed but that the package itself had not been shipped. But trying to be polite and assuming I probably knew less about the process than she did, I told her I'd call the USPS and ask them and get back to her.

I called the USPS. They assured me that I was correct. The package was not in their system yet.

I called customer service number back and explained. This guy told me I was wrong -- that Trish knew the system. I told him I wasn't wrong, that the USPS had told me the package hadn't even shipped yet, much less had been shipped eleven days earlier. I said it was really unacceptable to tell me that it had shipped the 13th when it still hadn't shipped on the 24th. He disagreed with me. He said, "Oh, no it's not unacceptable." I told him it was now too late to start the seeds I'd wanted to start, and he said in a sarcastic tone of voice, "Oh, isn't that too bad."

I was really shocked. I've placed four other orders from online gardeners supply companies this year, all on the 8th or 9th of February, and all of them are sitting here already. Unfortuntely, the order for Pinetree contained the seed trays. I'll go out to a local garden center and try to get my seeds started now, but I was really hoping to have them started by now.

I really can't imagine what would make me order from them again.

It's been my experience that you need to use any seed from Pinetree the same year you buy it; don't try to save it for next year as it probably won"t germinate. I have pansy, browalia, tuberous begonia all languishing in trays alongside fresh seed that is doing fine. Use it or lose it.

This will be my last year with them. My order was late, incorrect, and not much germinated. They did not respond to my email. They also seem to have become affiliated with Thompson-Morgan, and we all know how lousy their seeds are. Goodbye, Pinetree. You sure have fallen a long way since being in the top ten several years ago.

I ordered quite a bit of seed from them for the first time this year and all in all they are coming up and blooming nicely. I do think their website needs definitely improvement and I did email them explaining that I had wished the seed packets came with the time of year it bloomed and where to plant. I got no response at all. The website is not very user friendly. Some packets had a lot of seeds for the money and some not many at all. So I will probably use them again for some seeds, but wish they had a little more consistency.

I won't be using this company again as I've found another seed company that didn't give me one dud and they aren't expensive. Sorry Pinetree. You get what you pay for.

I've bought seeds and books from Pinetree in the past, never had a problem. This year I bought plants (ferns etc) and caladium tubers. It took two months to get the plants and they were microscopic - a 1/4" fern frond in a 4" pot. I thought they might only just be breaking dormancy, coming from Maine, but the root growth was also puny, they had obviously just been moved from much smaller containers (seedling trays?) into the 4" pots. Since prices were equivalent to locally available - much bigger, healthier, earlier - I was very disappointed. Their seeds are ok if you don't want many.

Although I have ordered from Pinetree in the past this year has been a disaster. I purchased seeds from Harris, Johnny’s and Pinetree. All of my seeds from Harris and Johnny’s germinated without and problems but the Pinetree seeds would not germinate. The worst were their Broccoli seeds but all of their seeds had huge germination problems. Even the seeds that germinated are not growing very well when compared with the plants from Johnny’s and Harris.

I am very disappointed.. I have not contacted them with this complaint since there is nothing they can do for me. Too late to start new seeds.

I have placed several orders with Pinetree in the past, but I will no longer continue to deal with this company.

I like the idea of offering smaller seed packs, but theirs aren't always a good value. I found it impossible to order from their website, (their wesite is virtually useless) so I ordered via mail...my check was cashed right away, but it took several weeks for my order to arrive. I was not at all impressed with their customer service...I called to check on ship date, but they were not able to give me any adequate info, (was basically told to wait longer) and the rep was not so gracious. I experienced very poor germination with some varieties this year and last, especially the Dia Green broccoli.

Overall, I find this company to be mediocre at best, and I am very suprised that they are listed in the "top 20".

I ordered a very large order (almost $200) from Pine Tree last year. Over $50 of it was plants, which they did not send until half way through June when I was on vacation.

When it did arrive, I was gone and the plants were dead when I got home. I called Pine Treeupon my return and explained the situation. The first person was unable to help me. After several phone calls, they explained to me that they were not going to do anything about it -- neither refund my money nor replace the plants.

I will never order from them again.

There was a commercial a few years ago by Wendy's that had the line, "Where's the beef?" Well, I say, "Where's the seeds?"
I ordered from Pinetree Garden for the first time this year. Originally I was impressed with their great prices. I came to this website and most people were happy with the company so I gave it a try. I now know why they have such great prices- I got only a very few seeds. I looked at the catalog again and I cannot believe what I am seeing! I know for some of what I ordered, I did not get the stated number of seeds. I will definitely go somewhere else next year.

On a positive note, the few seeds I did get had good germination except for the yellow squash...go figure.

On May 6 I ordered 80 asparagus plants and was told they would be shipped out in five days. I waited two weeks and called Pinetree and was told my order was in the process of being filled. Again I waited and called them on June 1 and asked about my order. The person I spoke to informed me that I would not be receiving my order because they were out of asparagus roots.
Nearly a month passed and Pinetree didn't even have the decency to let me know that they had no stock to fill my order! When I spoke to them they seemed to care less and offered no apology.
It's now too late to order from a more reliable source and the bed I had prepared will sit dormant untill next year.
I will never place another order with Pinetree and will encourage others to do the same!

This is the first year I have ordered from them. I placed the order in mid December, thinking that should be early enough to get a reasonable ship date. After all, their web site says that orders received through December generally go out in a day or two. The seed part of the order did come quickly, and I have had no problems with them. However I am still waiting for the plants that I ordered. I mail ordered from 6 different companies this year, and most of it was delivered by mid April. On April 14, I emailed them to get an order status. They replied promptly that they had everything in stock, and it should go out in a week or two. I waited, and called on April 26 to get another order status. I was told that they would check, and if it hasn't shipped, they would get it right out. Again, I waited, and emailed them. I got a reply May 4 promising that the remainder of my order would ship out this week. If it doesn't, I'll try to add more information later.

I realize that gardening companies are busy this time of year. That is why I place my orders early. I would just like to know why this order is taking so long. I don't know if they prioritize shipments by the size of the order, and my $45 order wasn't important to them. I also noticed that for an extra $4.50, they offer 24 hour processing of orders. Maybe everybody but me pays the extra fee.

Next year, I will not be ordering from this company. Right now, I'm hoping to get my plants before too much more Spring goes by.

ORDERED MANY SEEDS, WAITING FOR DAYS...WEEKS...WAITING, WAITING, EMAILED, NO RESPONSE...EMAILED AND GOT A NASTY REPLY SAYING IT TAKES 3+ WEEKS TO FILL THE ORDER!!! IT'LL BE TOO LATE TO PLANT BY THEN!!! SO I CANCELLED MY ORDER AND ORDERED FROM A COMPANY WHO SHIPS WITHIN A DAY OR TWO. I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE DOING WITH 3 WEEKS TIME...WAITING FOR THE SEEDS TO GROW TO MAKE MORE SEEDS TO SELL?

TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE ATTITUDE, TERRIBLY SLOW. I JOINED THIS WEBSITE TO AVOID COMPANIES LIKE THESE. FOUND OUT HERE I WOULD HAVE ONLY GOTTEN A FEW SEEDS VERSUS A PACKET OF THEM....HOW MANY NEGATIVES DOES IT TAKE UNTIL A COMPANY IS OFF THE WATCHDOG 20 LIST???? BY THE WAY, I ALREADY HAVE MY NEW SEEDS THAT I ORDERED THIS WEEK FROM BURPEE.

I know for some of what I ordered, I did not get the stated number of seeds.{ I was soo embarrassed in front of my FIL and DH when we were planting on Good Friday.} They thought I had this great cache of seed ready to plant and I had just opened the packs and didn't know!!! I feel their catalog is VERY MISLEADING!!!! They have to get tough on their quality control or folks will go elsewhere- I know I will!!!!!

I am sure I had less than the stated amounts of:
Tendergreen bush bean {cat.says 150-180 seeds- I wish!}
Dusky Eggplant {says in cat. min.30 seeds}
Sweeter Yet Cuke {20 min.}
Clemson Spineless Okra {min. 30 seeds- I think I got a couple dozen}
I want the buyer to beware of this catalog- read very carefully and count the seeds ASAP after getting them!!!!

I will post later to report of germination.

I ordered from Pinetree on March 5, 2004 from the website. If there was some warning about how long it would take to get seeds, I certainly don't recall it. I use mailorder all the time. I received a confirmation. Other seed company orders came after their's and were shipped quickly. No seeds from Pinetree. I e-mailed them about the 19th of March. No reply whatsoevere. Finally, on March 26, 2004, I e-mailed them to complain about the lack of reply or product and to ask for them to cancel my order and to refund my money. Conveniently, they replied to me on March 29 indicating that my shipment left on March 26, the same day I contacted them. No comments were made about giving me an option of a refund. I had already ordered seeds to replace these from another company. It seems very inappropriate that they did not respond within a week from the first e-mail and even more inappropriate that they can't contact me immediately when they know I have requested a cancellation/refund. There are other comments about similar issues on this site. They are not a TOP 20 company to my thinking. Let the buyer beware and read the other comments of this kind.
