My office manager ordered bulbs from the New Holland Bulb company March 20, 2001. As of May 8, 2001 her check has been cashed but we have not received any bulbs. We were able to contact the company, who was friendly and promised a refund. They said that our bulbs should arrive by July and that we should refuse shipment and then a refund check would be sent.

I have sent e-mails and have called continuously about not receiving my mail-ordered flowers and bulbs. New Holland Bulb has cashed my check and I have seen nothing from them at all. These orders go back as far as March. I am tired of trying to get a refund or the ordered product.

My girlfriend (who lives on the East Coast) ordered some plants for me (in Los Angeles) from the New Holland Bulb Co. (NHB) on Feb 4th 2001, the intention being that they would be delivered by Feb 14th.On February 13, I received a letter from NHB saying that they could not deliver one of the items to California. On the 20th Feb I received a check for $9 as a refund for one of the items (please note, I did not place the order them.) Yesterday, (April 4th) I received 3 very beaten up and nearly dead plants (buddleia) from NHB with a note attached to each box saying "packed with pride by Sallie". Sallie should look elsewhere for employment. A warning in agreement with everyone else: DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY, hopefully they will go out of business soon and not rip anyone else off.

I ordered Hibiscus bushes in August 2000. I was happy that my bulbs arrived in September, in time to put in the ground. In April, I started to see growth in each of the six areas where I planted. A week later, I was so surprised when the TULIPS bloomed. I ordered six hydrangea bushes from them; they arrived in perfect condition.

I too have had an unpleasant experience with this company. I ordered tulips and was suppose to get all these free extra plants. I was billed for them but never received them and the company has reported me to the credit bureau for non-payment of something I never received. I try to call and they give me the run-around. I will never order from them again.

I finally received the purple wave hanging plants that I ordered. There were supposed to be 48 plants but I could not find anything other than a green rotted mess in brown paper sitting on top of plastic holders. They arrived regular U.S. mail. They had been dead for some time. After 2 months I was disappointed and called the number above. A very pleasant voiced woman answered and I shared my findings. After questioning me about them really being dead she offered to replace them or send a refund in 2 to 3 weeks. I opted for the check and I'll let you know. I do not know how they make money. [Update] I received a check 3 weeks after the complaint for the full amount.

I placed an order over six weeks ago and have yet to receive my merchandise. However, they were real quick in depositing the payment for the merchandise. I cannot believe this company is still in business. I have tried to call the number listed and it has since been disconnected. I guess the next step is to try and call Foster-Gallagher, since they apparently own the New Holland Bulb Company and go from there.

My 86-year old mother lives of her very limited social security. As a gift for my birthday, she ordered from one the New Holland's mail outs (early April, 2000). The check was cashed (of course!) and she has nothing to show for it. I was searching the web for a phone number when I came upon this site. I have attempted both numbers given. My mother is out about $30 she could ill-afford to lose. What's more, her trust level is damaged. Thanks for this informative site. Too bad we didn't find it until it's too late.

It seems the complaints keep adding up about this fraudulent business. I wish we had known about this site and all the complaints before we sent our checks to them. We placed two orders, one on 26 March and one on 17 April. Both checks have been cashed, but we have not received a thing. And if we do, I'm afraid of what we will get. Thank you for supplying the phone numbers, I will be contacting them as soon as possible.

Good grief, I too wish I had have seen this information before ordering from these people. We ordered the Mixed Hibiscus and the Hydrangea Hedge. They arrived and looked a little dry, but we added water and hoped to rescue them. We now have a bunch of dead sticks in the ground. It took a call to directory assistance to find a phone number - the number tells you they are closed. I agree that I too will never order from these people again!

I am usually leery of mail orders also but I had been looking for lemon grass plants for months now and when I saw that New Holland Bulb Co. had some I jumped on the opportunity. I spent less than $20 but it seemed worth it because of all the free stuff you are suppose to receive with the purchase. After sending the check and waiting I found this site with the all the complaints. I called the two numbers and sent a letter but have not made contact with this company. I put in a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I was very concerned when I learned that the parent company of Spring Hill Nurseries is the same as the New Holland Bulb Company. The New Holland Bulb Company should not be allowed in business. I received the seed mat, and nothing grew. I did not receive it until mid-June which was probably too late for planting. Still not one of the hundreds of seeds in the mat germinated. That is a miracle in itself! Consumers would be wise to contact their newspapers to inform them about companies that they are advertising are ripping consumers off!

I have used MBC and New Holland and for the most part received what I had paid for. What do you expect to receive when you only pay a few dollars for plants? If you want good plants then buy from your local garden center where you can see what you are getting and paying for. I feel there are a lot of cheap people complaining because they did get what they paid so little for. When I received anything from these companies that was DOA a phone call usually did the trick and my money was refunded or a new plant sent though I must say sometimes for a 2.00 plant I just didn't take the time.

I was apprehensive when I read all the feedback about bad service and bad products from Holland Bulb Co. Nevertheless, I decided to try to contact them again after a 3-month wait to receive my order. I had called them twice before because we were in the middle of a move and I wanted the order sent to my new address. My call was answered on the second ring. The lady I talked with was very cordial and said she would issue a refund check. A week later I received it. While I can't say much for the initial service, the refund was handled very well.

I purchased 2 butterfly bushes from New Holland Bulb last fall. They were very dry when they arrived. I planted them, but they never showed any signs of growing. I wrote for replacement plants this spring. They arrived today, June 1. Again they are in very dry condition, with dirt falling out. The date at the top of the invoice is 5/14/99. Either they wrote the order and didn't mail it timely, OR the post office kept them for whatever reason. Again, the plants do not appear to be healthy enough to grow. I will not order from New Holland Bulb again. However, I am going to use the phone number you provided and make person to person contact with the company tomorrow.

I'm also unsatisfied my order from New Holland, my order came after a long wait last fall (just two day before the frost hit us) in a cardboard that was badly wet down and when open I found a muddy mess of entangled plants. I had no idea what was what my invoice was in with the order so I could not even read it. Anyway, to make a long story short I put $75.00 of unknown plants into the ground and watch the frost destroy them. I will know in a few more weeks if any of the plants have survived the winter. I'm afraid that this is not anything I will do again. I'll use a walk in place so I can see what I am buying the next time. Good luck to all that have shared in experiences like mine.

I ordered the 3-in-1 Butterfly bushes. They took forever to get here, and when they did they were dead and dry. I planted them hoping they may live, but to no avail. I called the company's number listed on this page and got through on the first try. The representative was helpful and asked if I'd like a replacement or a refund. I asked her if she thought there was a chance the plants would be in better shape next time. She said they've been having trouble with shipments to California, because the boxes are marked perishable and there is some kind of infestastion that is causing the plants to be held up in the inspection station for an undeterminable length of time. She suggested I request a refund, which I did. I should be receiving it in 2-3 weeks by mail.

We have ordered different plants for a number of years. This year we ordered the 3 in 1 Butterfly Bush. They arrived in real sad shape, looked and felt like dead twigs. But I put them in the ground and tried to make them do something. After 3 weeks of no response from the twigs I called the New Holland Bulb Company on a Saturday afternoon. I explained the situation concerning the plants and she informed me that she was putting in a order for replacement of the bushes. We received the new plants in less than two weeks and they are health and thriving. They have already gained an inch or two in just the last week. I feel that the New Holland Bulb Company has treated me fairly and will purchase plants in the future. I did get the phone number that I called from this site and it went right through the first time.

I found this site by trying to look up their number and never dreamed that I would find this much negative info. on this company. In fact, I didn't expect to find any. All I wanted was a phone number to call them at so that I could get my order straightened out. The planting season is passing me right by, I thought my plants would be in the ground by now. I too, regret that I did not look this company up BEFORE ordering. Unfortunately, I just assumed that since they put such an attractive, descriptive, well-laid-out flyer together, they must be a reputable company that handles their business in a professional manner. I spent about $60 with them, money that is hard to come by for my family. I have the cancelled/cashed checks from my bank.
