Credit Card overcharged $60. Order# 13398. They (Christopher) said he took care of it and told me it would take 14 days. A month later nothing. Inquiries to "company" going unanswered now. I contacted AMEX who knows nothing about a credit from them and disputed the charge. It's a shame I had to get my money from them.

I spend a fortune on aquarium plants a year. Hope it was worth losing a customer and any potential ones who read this and the other reviews I am leaving elsewhere.

I have ordered 2 marginal plants and 2 water lillies for my backyard pond. The 2 water lillies looked nothing like the picture on the website and died within a week of getting them. I tried to contact the company but after several emails and phone calls, I have not heard a word. The plants were very small and definitely did not look like anything that I ordered. I know they can't be exactly like the website, but they were not even close. I was very disappointed in their products and even worse with their customer service. I would strongly recommend not ordering from this website. If you do have problems, forget about getting in touch with them.

Unsatisfactory.

My order was filled 8 days, and arrived 10 days after being placed on their website. Most of shipment arrived dead, either wilted and dark green like a bad bag of salad greens, or brown. Everything was packed in ziploc bags with no temperature buffers like paper towels or newspaper, just bags floating around the box. I've ordered plants online before and typically they come wrapped in wet paper towels or newspaper, for both physical protection and as a buffer against temp swings, like one would get sitting in a mail truck on a sunny 85deg day (like the day my plants arrived).

I sent 2 emails with no reply after a week so far. I tried calling over 20 times, there's no answer and no machine, just a hang-up click. I have the impression I'm not going to get a reply

The only salvagable plants are 2 marble Echinodorus, and they came with most of the larger leaves broken and dangling (probably from banging around loose in the box), only the central rosette of younger leaves are OK. That particular Ziploc had opened during shipment and some leaves were also dried out.

Caveat emptor.

I ordered some plants for my pond on Sunday 4/10/05. The site says that shipments are made Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so I assumed that since I ordered on a Sunday my order would be shipped that week. By Thursday, 4/14, I had not received a shipment confirmation email and we were leaving out of town. I emailed them to find out when they shipped (or if they had), since I was concerned that my plants would be sitting in the mailbox all weekend. As of today, Monday 4/18, I have not received a response to my email. I checked the BBB today and they have a customer complaint on file for "product quality issues," to which they did not respond. So I called the phone number listed on the website to inquire about my order, and there is a message within one ring that they are not available and to leave a message, only I can't leave a message because their mailbox is full. They have not yet charged my credit card, though, which is a positive. However, I need to get the plants into my pond so that we can add the fish and complete our project. If I cannot get in touch with them, how can I find out information about or cancel my order? With all the other negative comments I have read today from the web (mainly leaving out plants on more than one order and not answering customer complaints) in addition to my current experience, I really wonder how reputable this company is. If they come through, I will post an update and change my experience rating.

I received an email this afternoon that my order shipped today. Hopefully, things work out. I have changed my rating from negative to neutral. If my order is in order, I will again post and change my rating.

Thanks!

Okay, I received the order today, and I was surprised to note that I received my entire order. However, as others have mentioned, the plants ARE very small in comparison to other places. It will take a long while before my plants will be able to sustain the environment in the pond.
On April 27th, 2005, rmlawson4 changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following:

I received my order on 4/20 and planted all plants as instructed on early 4/21. Two plants seemed very unhealthy, but I attributed that to the shock of the shipping. However, even after careful handling and attention, 2 have already died (a marginal (Frogbit [Limnobium Spongia]) and an oxygenator (Cabomba Caroliniana)). Another - a hardy waterlily called Texas Dawn - is in very bad shape, and we added some aquatic plant fertilizer to try and save it. Unfortunately, Aquatic Plant Depot only guarantees live arrival and "must be notified within 24 hours by email of any losses or problems". Given the poor response from customer service after I placed my order, and the fact that my plants were VERY, VERY small, and the fact that 2 have already died less than a week after receiving, I do not feel Aquatic Plant Depot is a good place to order from.
