Credit Card overcharged $60. Order# 13398. They (Christopher) said he took care of it and told me it would take 14 days. A month later nothing. Inquiries to "company" going unanswered now. I contacted AMEX who knows nothing about a credit from them and disputed the charge. It's a shame I had to get my money from them. I spend a fortune on aquarium plants a year. Hope it was worth losing a customer and any potential ones who read this and the other reviews I am leaving elsewhere.

This a company run by a young family. The price of the plants at the location are very low. They all looked in great shape. The place is kept in great shape.

I placed an order online for the Aquatic Plant Depot in January 2009. I ordered about 30 plants and several Nerite snails. Each plant was in beautiful condition and larger than I expected. They were in better condition and less expensive than the plants I can buy at local stores, so needless to say, I am thrilled. Two months later the plants are growing and reproducing in my tanks. The Nerites are in great shape and also growing and attempting to reproduce. I made several phone calls and emails before I placed my order, and all were returned in less than 24 hours. I picked up my order, because I am local. I had to change my pick up date, and they were very cooperative and called when the plants were ready. (I wanted to give a recent experience.)

After reading all the negative comments, I’m surprised considering the prompt service and good quality plants I received. I've order from them on two different occasions and both times my orders were complete and the plants arrived within a week of placing my order.

I have ordered 2 marginal plants and 2 water lillies for my backyard pond. The 2 water lillies looked nothing like the picture on the website and died within a week of getting them. I tried to contact the company but after several emails and phone calls, I have not heard a word. The plants were very small and definitely did not look like anything that I ordered. I know they can't be exactly like the website, but they were not even close. I was very disappointed in their products and even worse with their customer service. I would strongly recommend not ordering from this website. If you do have problems, forget about getting in touch with them.

Unsatisfactory. My order was filled 8 days, and arrived 10 days after being placed on their website. Most of shipment arrived dead, either wilted and dark green like a bad bag of salad greens, or brown. Everything was packed in ziploc bags with no temperature buffers like paper towels or newspaper, just bags floating around the box. I've ordered plants online before and typically they come wrapped in wet paper towels or newspaper, for both physical protection and as a buffer against temp swings, like one would get sitting in a mail truck on a sunny 85deg day (like the day my plants arrived). I sent 2 emails with no reply after a week so far. I tried calling over 20 times, there's no answer and no machine, just a hang-up click. I have the impression I'm not going to get a reply The only salvagable plants are 2 marble Echinodorus, and they came with most of the larger leaves broken and dangling (probably from banging around loose in the box), only the central rosette of younger leaves are OK. That particular Ziploc had opened during shipment and some leaves were also dried out. Caveat emptor.

Plants were shipped on time and prices were great! The plants arrived in pretty good shape even though my mailman had them sitting in full Texas sun for an hour or so!

I live in the area and i am lucky to have the opportunity to actually visit this establishment . They are always very busy ,but the three times I have been there ,they have taken the time to show me around and answer any questions .It seems they have a very large turnover. I have shopped at other places, on line and in the area. The plants were very healthy and you cannot beat their prices ......ANYWHERE . I have bought about thirty plants from them and all are doing great. They have a huge inventory and I will continue to buy from these very friendly people. Dan

I ordered some plants for my pond on Sunday 4/10/05. The site says that shipments are made Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, so I assumed that since I ordered on a Sunday my order would be shipped that week. By Thursday, 4/14, I had not received a shipment confirmation email and we were leaving out of town. I emailed them to find out when they shipped (or if they had), since I was concerned that my plants would be sitting in the mailbox all weekend. As of today, Monday 4/18, I have not received a response to my email. I checked the BBB today and they have a customer complaint on file for "product quality issues," to which they did not respond. So I called the phone number listed on the website to inquire about my order, and there is a message within one ring that they are not available and to leave a message, only I can't leave a message because their mailbox is full. They have not yet charged my credit card, though, which is a positive. However, I need to get the plants into my pond so that we can add the fish and complete our project. If I cannot get in touch with them, how can I find out information about or cancel my order? With all the other negative comments I have read today from the web (mainly leaving out plants on more than one order and not answering customer complaints) in addition to my current experience, I really wonder how reputable this company is. If they come through, I will post an update and change my experience rating.

On April 18th, 2005, rmlawson4 changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following: I received an email this afternoon that my order shipped today. Hopefully, things work out. I have changed my rating from negative to neutral. If my order is in order, I will again post and change my rating. Thanks!
On April 20th, 2005, rmlawson4 added the following: Okay, I received the order today, and I was surprised to note that I received my entire order. However, as others have mentioned, the plants ARE very small in comparison to other places. It will take a long while before my plants will be able to sustain the environment in the pond.
On April 27th, 2005, rmlawson4 changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following: I received my order on 4/20 and planted all plants as instructed on early 4/21. Two plants seemed very unhealthy, but I attributed that to the shock of the shipping. However, even after careful handling and attention, 2 have already died (a marginal (Frogbit [Limnobium Spongia]) and an oxygenator (Cabomba Caroliniana)). Another - a hardy waterlily called Texas Dawn - is in very bad shape, and we added some aquatic plant fertilizer to try and save it. Unfortunately, Aquatic Plant Depot only guarantees live arrival and "must be notified within 24 hours by email of any losses or problems". Given the poor response from customer service after I placed my order, and the fact that my plants were VERY, VERY small, and the fact that 2 have already died less than a week after receiving, I do not feel Aquatic Plant Depot is a good place to order from.

I've ordered a few times from this company. All of the times I've ordered I've been shorted plants, but still charged for them. I did email to ask were the missing plants were, but received no reply. Other times plants were omitted from my order and invoice (quantity on invoice showed as "blank", even though they showed up in my confirmation email.) I assumed this was because they were out of stock, but the said plants were still shown as available on their website. The prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for (small plants.) On the positive side I did receive my orders fast and all of the plants were healthy and are still thriving. I would say order with caution, and be sure to count your plants when they arrive!

I ordered on a Wednesday, got a confirmation that I would receive by Saturday. Didn't get anything until after I called on Monday, and found out the order had never been sent. Received on Wednesday, but without one of the plants I had ordered. They replaced the plant and threw in some other awesome plants for my trouble. I will order from them again!
