Comments regarding Victory Seed Company

I love this company. They are all about preservation and heritage and history, and they obviously put great effort into all of the above. Some of the seeds they have, one can't get anywhere else, and I think this is because they get some of them directly from Carolyn Male and Craig LeHoullier, who are well known experts in the heirloom tomato field.

My seeds took a little longer to get to me than usual this year - BUT, and this is an important but, they noted prominently on their website that they were running behind due to this year's volume of orders. And then I got follow up emails about my order, again explaining and apologizing for the delay. So I knew exactly what was happening with my order at all times, which to me is a critical part of customer service.

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this company. They practice what they preach in every respect, and they have a wonderful selection of seeds of top quality. And they treat their customers right! I'll definitely continue ordering from them in the future.

YAY for Victory Seed!!!

I ordered a pound of redworms on a Tuesday afternoon. Keeping note that they only ship worm orders on Mondays & Tuesdays, my worms were here on a Friday a week and a half later. I also want to note that they had messages on their homepage that they were anywhere from 3-5 or 10 days behind (2 different messages that changed about a week apart). I wasn't expecting them until a week or so later, so even though I was hoping, I wasn't expecting!

Worms are alive & appear healthy. Very happy with my order.

I've ordered tomato and pepper seeds from this company several times and they have never failed to provide excellent service. Their seeds are very fresh with excellent germination and true to type. They, along with Baker Creek, are my favorite sources for heirloom seed.

I had a great experience with this company. My order was fast, and I was really happy to receive a confirmation email as some seed companies don't do that. They have a lot of hard to find varieties, and the prices are very reasonable. Germination rates were excellent on the seeds I bought. I will definitely order from them again.

I liked what I read about Victory Seed, both here and on their website. I ordered my seeds from their online store and received them promptly. The seeds are packaged nicely and clearly. This company has a good philosophy and business attitude. I plan order more from them in the future.

I have ordered from Victory Seeds for the last 3 years and the germination rate is near 100% on everything I've tried. They are the only place I can find JTD, one of my best-producing tomatoes. Everyone I have given seedlings to has mentioned that they liked it.

The seeds that I ordered last year did incredibly well despite our drought and deer trouble. We still had bumper crops on many items. I am ordering over a hundred dollars of seeds this year, now that we have the electric fence up! They were great getting the seeds here fast. The only problem we had was with the parsnips, but I suspect that it was insufficient water and temperature problems, not their seeds.

This was the fastest order I have ever received! My order arrived in 3 days. Everything was securely packaged, and clearly labeled. Prices were inexpensive, and the directions on the packages are helpful. I haven't planted anything yet, but provided germination isn't horrible I will definitely be ordering from this company again!

The ordering process was a snap, and my order arrived much quicker than I expected. Everything was correct, well-marked, and in good condition. I've only planted one of the seeds so far (after all, it's only January!) and it's growing like crazy.

I ordered "sampler" sizes of everything, which was cheaper than a full package and definitely adequate for the small backyard gardener. Victory is a great source of inexpensive heirloom seeds!

I ordered several packets of vegetables and herbs that I wanted to plant soon. The order process was extremely smooth and quick. My package arrived much quicker than I anticipated and now I am impatiently awaiting spring. I will definately order from them again.

Victory Seeds Dwarf Champion tomato seeds are great so far. This is my first time gardening. I have about 15 tomato plants and about 7 different varieties. I have the scrappiest looking garden due to inexperience and lack of time. All except the dwarf champion tomatos from Victory seeds. Those four plants are upright, nicely green, and beautiful. Can't wait to see if the next month will bring some fruit off of these beautiful plants.

Have not planted the seeds yet, but wanted to comment on the prompt service and informative packaging. Very helpful for this beginner. I was especially happy to find the Traveler tomatoes that I hope will grow well here in Puerto Rico.

I was impressed with how quickly I received my order. Some of the seeds have sprouted and some have now, however I was trying something new and didn't follow the directions. Can't blame them for that. I would definitely order again from this company.

I DISCOVERD VICTORYSEED COMPANY A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. I AM A TOMATOE FREAK SO I WAS AMAZED AND HAPPY TO FIND SO MANY KINDS OF TOMATOES THERE ARE. I ORDERED SIX DIFFERENT KINDS. I PLANTED THE SEEDS OF ACE 55 AND BRANDY WINE RED. I USE 4 INCH POTS AND PUT THEM IN A TRAY. I PUT ABOUT AN INCH OF WATER IN THE TRAY TO WATER FROM THE BOTTOM. NOW THE PLANTS ARE ABOUT 6 INCHES HIGH AND HAVE SEVERAL LEAVES. I TRANSPLANTED THEM TO LARGER POTS AND PUT THEM ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE HOUSE. HERE IN ARIZONA THE TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN 108 113 AND THEY ARE DOING JUST FINE. IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS

Very timely service. I placed my order 13 July 2006 in the morning and it arrived 15 July 2006. Surprisingly fast for cross-country deliver (Oregon to Pennsylvania). I received everything I ordered, securely packaged. In short, an excellent experience. I follow up with another post next spring to report germination rates.

I placed an order last Friday (14 April 2006) and the order arrived 20 April 2006. This was the same day that I received an email stating that the order had been shipped.

The seeds were double packed in their envelope, the packing slip was carefully wrapped around the seed packets and then all were placed in a padded envelope. The seeds arrived safe and sound. It appears that you care about the product you are selling.

This year was the first time I ordered from Victory Seed Company, but I have placed multiple orders with them and am delighted.
All the seeds arrived within a week of the order (5 days average) and were in perfect condition upon reciept. So far, better than 90% of the seeds I have planted have sprouted and are growing fast. All the seeds are double packaged and the planting instructions are easy to follow.

This was my first time ordering from them, and it was a very positive experience. I heard that they might be growing out a tomato variety I was interested in trying. Mike responded personally to my e-mail query and told me when to expect availability. My order (for several different varieties) arrived promptly, and the germination was excellent.
They appear to be a quality company and I will be happy to do business again with them in the future.

I've been ordering the bulk of my seeds from Victory for the last 5 years. They have a great selection of heirloom vegetables, always ship quickly, germination rates are great, and their packaging is really convenient (all seeds are in a tiny ziplock bag inside a seed packet). The only time I use other companies is if they don't have what I'm looking for (i.e. Varieties of hops).

I recently placed a small order with this company for a few watermellon and corn seeds. The website has a lot of good information, including a bit of history on some of the seeds. One of the nice things about ordering from Victory Seed is they send an email when your order is shipping out so you aren't sitting around wondering where it is. Order processing is fast, I received my seeds about a week after I placed my order over the internet.

This is an excellent company that has dedicated itself to preserving and promoting vegetable seed grown by our grandmothers and grandfathers or great grandparents.

I ordered two seed packets from them late last month: Paragon and Golden Queen. Both were introduced by the father of the modern tomato, Alexander Livingston.

The seeds arrived within days. Since I have never grown tomatoes from seed before, I was a little perplexed.

However, I found an excellent resource at Home Depot of all places. They sell Jiffy Portable Greenhouse contraptions, small enough to fit in a window sill, and come complete with compressed peat moss pellets.

These cost about $2, and all you are required to do is add a cup or two of warm water, and watch those compressed peat moss pellets expand.

Since I had far more pellets than seed, I did not follow the standard instructions of planting "three seeds per pellet." I planted one seed per pellet, hoping for a germination rate of more than half.

To my surprise, those seeds popped four days later. Not half. Not 70%. EVERY SINGLE SEED SHIPPED TO ME GERMINATED IN FOUR DAYS.

I did nothing more than add warm water to these peat moss pellets, plant seed, then place the plastic cover that the Jiffy kit came with over the peat moss pellets. Then I stuck them on the kitchen window sill, and kept the heat at about 73 or 74 in the home.

It's been raining like the dickens in California for the past two weeks. No sunshine at all. Even without sun, the seeds still popped. Every single seed popped. Amazing.

I did not have any type of special light or heating pad for these plastic greenhouses. I just added warm water, planted seed, stuck them in a window sill and they popped. This is easier than falling off a bike (which I do often). And it's a lot less painful.

I urge you to give your business to the fine people at Victory Seed Company. Not only do they sell the highest quality of seed, they are dedicating to preserving varieties that you will not find at your local Walmart or any other chain store.

I will not hesitate to use them again. And, hopefully, I'll have a much bigger yard next summer.

My experience with Victory Seed Company was fabulous! I emailed Mike about a personalized seed packet order and he was extremely helpful and was able to get me exactly what I needed for my wedding favors. Not only was he helpful, but responded to my emails promptly and I received the final product in a matter of days. In fact, I received the product just before I read the email that indicated it was on it's way! I love the design of the packets and am very excited about giving my heirloom zinnia and sunflower seeds to my guests!

I placed an online order with Victory Seeds on Feb. 25th. It only took 5 days for my seeds to arrive and they were packed beautifully! Each seed packet has very detailed instructions and they were all carefully seeled in a padded envelope.

Their website was very simple to navigate and the checkout process was very straight forward. They sent a detailed receipt by email the day I placed my order and another email notice the day my seeds were shipped.

Their prices were great, shipping quick and service has been excellent so far. I would definitely order from them again.

I placed an order with Victory seeds last week. I really appreciate fast shipping as I tend to be impatient waiting for my on line orders. So, I was was pleased to receive my order 2 days later. I only placed a small order of 8 packs of heirloom seeds. I could tell by the feel of the paper packages that they were wrapped in something else, so I broke open the pack in curiosity to find they are placed into little plastic seal bags too. This company clearly cares about their cause and takes a lot of pride in their merchandise. I plan to definitely shop here again.
