I highly recommend VictorySeeds. My order arrived quickly and they have an A+ in customer service. When I had questions they responded to my emails very promptly. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

I ordered from Victory because they are local for me, and had some seeds I could not find elsewhere. The prices are good, the shipping was fast and packaged with care. Handwritten thank you's on the invoice made me happy to see I was buying from actual people and not a giant corporation. So far my seedlings are doing well, germination rate has been really high. I will order from them in the future!

Super fast shipping with my seeds, ordered in Feb. So far germination rates have been very good, and I even planted out the early greens due to very warm temps (for here), and they are doing wonderfully. I will buy from them again.

I'm very pleased at how fast my order was processed and shipped. Victory Seed offers some unique and hard to find vegetable seed and I appreciate their mission to supply a quality product at a fair price.

For various and sundry reasons I have mixed results with germinating my own tomato plants. I buy tomato plants from garden centers as backups. I tend to select heirlooms, either by seed or by purchased plant. I also buy tomato seed packs from garden centers. Therefore I get a fair idea of how well plants do from various sources. Victory Seed tomato seeds germinate as well as, if not slightly better than, tomato seeds from other sources. Generally, once planted, the Victory Seed tomato plants grow as well as the best garden center tomato plants that I have found. Furthermore, again generally, the Victory Seed plants out perform most other plants started from seed, or bought at other garden centers. In other words, I've found only one other place that matches the plants I can start with Victory Seed seed. A tomato plant grown from Victory Seed seeds will generally be very vigorous in terms of growth and fruit production. While you may, or may not, pay more for Victory Seed seeds, the yields from their seeds will make up for any slightly higher initial cost.

I ordered plants, bugs, microbes and seeds from Victory Seed and was very happy. Despite the heat in Las Vegas in July, the ladybugs arrived alive and well. All the living plants have survived. Great company, great people. God bless.

I received the order so quickly that I thought I'd made a mistake and had checked off for the most expensive shipping option. I hadn't. Also, information was included on storage of seeds that I'd never seen before. Sure wish I'd have known about this company earlier -- I like the packaging and service but I LOVE the idea of seed preservation. Victory Seeds is now my first choice.

Just received the March 3rd order. I'm pleased everything I requested was in stock. I was worried I might have to hunt down the varieties of tomato I wanted else where. The Victory Seed Co. prices are better than most I've looked at; 10 cents per seed compared to 12 cents. The shipping was also on par with most others, perhaps a little lower than some. (Shipping costs have greatly reduced the number of companies I order from. Victory Seed had enough OP vegetable varieties to satisfy me this season and the saved shipping costs allowed me to purchase seeds I'd have had to skip otherwise.)

The seed packets provide "days to" maturity/harvest, as well as basic cultural instructions and a variety's release date if it is known.

The company also included suggestions for saving/storing seeds, as well as testing for germination. Good to know if you're new to seed saving.

The seed packs are expensive for the small number of seeds they contain, and the shipping is a little on the high side, however, that being said, if you do not want Franken food, this is one of the few places to get it. The seeds are expensive, because farming in Molalla is more expensive then farming in China. There are enough seeds for a year, for the serious amateur gardener, not many leftover, but would you ever use those anyway? The shipping is priority mail, which is pricey, but again, priority mail is what a small family buisness is going to use. The seeds arrive quickly after being ordered, they send what they say they are going to send, and they send the packs wrapped in bubble wrap so they arrive undamaged. They even include a little blurb on seed storage. Now, Molalla Oregon is the freaking garden spot of the United States, everything grows in Molalla, however I recognise some of the breeds they offer as what Oregonians used to be able to get from Sow Organic, and much of what they offered looks pretty promising for the Darkside (West side of the Cascades). We will see how they grow, but hoping to replace Abundant Life, Seeds of Change and Cooks, with Bountiful, Seeds from Italy, and this little company. Put your money where your mouth is if you truly want to support American family farms and don't want to eat Monsanto corn that, I am not making this up, kills the field mice that chew on it. Yum!

I have been pleased with with both the seed and the service. That said, I'd like to see some changes in the packaging. Several years ago I ordered a half-dozen or more varieties of beans. I was disappointed that the descriptions on-line weren't provided on the package. I appreciate the cost aspect of this, but all of the bean packages said exactly the same thing except for the variety name.

One further comment. I placed a small order today and received confirmation via email. Yesterday I had placed an order with New Hope Seed Company. The two emails look remarkably similar. The content is different, but the format is identical. This concerned me because I had researched several so-called small companies years ago only to discover that all were part of a much larger consortium. As it's my intent to support *small* farming operations, I stopped purchasing seed from those companies. It could well be that Victory & New Hope simply share an order/payment company. Or it could be a coincidence. Either way, I'm curious as to why the order confirmations are so similar.

As far as the New Hope Seed Company, yes, they too are a small farm-based company. Although they are in Tennessee and we are across the country in Oregon, the owner and I are very close friends. We collaborate on researching and growing out rare, old seed varieties, share information, and do cooperative grow outs to see how things do in our respective neck of the woods.

As small businesses, David and I wear many, many hats. One of which is webmaster. Since we also have to do things like filling seed packets, sending out orders and farming, we commonly are up late at night figuring out different web site related issues. When one of us finds an answer, we share the solution. And although we use the same technology platform, our sites and our businesses are in no way connected. We are, by business school definition, friendly competitors.

I hope that this helps explain things and clears up your concerns about us being part of some greater empire. :)

P.S. - Regarding the packaging, we do in fact, try to place descriptive or historical information on the packet. Leaving this off is not a cost related issue. It is a physical space related issue and growing instructions will always win out since the descriptions are available on the pages where the packets are ordered. That said, most, if not all, of our packets now include both cultural (planting) and descriptive information. We started moving in that direction quite a few years ago. I have ordered from Victory for the past two years and have been very pleased with the service and selection. In particular, the germination on their seeds has generally been much better than what I've found from other more well-known seed companies. Their packaging (including putting the seeds into ziplock bags before putting them in the paper packet) is better than any other seed source I've dealt with.

Plus, they have lots of the old well-known open-pollinated commercial varieties, which I find strike a nice balance between the productivity and hardiness necessary for commercial production but offer much, much better taste than the modern hybrid rubbish you find in most supermarkets.

I would advise potential customers to consider the overwhelmingly positive reviews from the many people who actually have dealt with this company and used their products, rather than people who seem to have enough spare time to post negative comments about a company from which they have never even bought anything.

Started my first garden this past year with Victory's seeds and had much success. Speedy service, great web site, reasonable prices, and high germination rates all provided by a small family company with a philosophy I can agree with.

This was my first time ordering from Victory Seeds. I bought 21 packets and had them on my doorstep in 3 days despite living on the other side of the country!

I was a little wary of ordering from an unknown internet company, but for the chance at getting such wonderful heirloom seeds I decided to take the chance. I have just started planting seeds to transplant later (after it cools off a little here in FL) into the school garden my elementary students and I grow. If the seeds are anything like the company that sells them I'll be very happy. The descriptions provided for each variety made selecting seeds that would do well in my area, would be suited for our fall planting, and would produce the type of produce suited for our potential use. I love that you can order the "sampler size", the perfect size for the home garden and the price was great (especially for heirloom seeds). I unfortunately didn't get to use the USPS tracking code but only because my order shipped SO quickly. I was incredibly impressed with the entire process and my seeds arrived fresh and well packaged. I was a 1st time customer this spring. Received my order in a speedy manner. I planted heavily to allow for spotty germination but to my amazement, it looks as if ALL the seeds came up! It seems I must be less generous in the future. Both your product and your service are tip top and greatly appreciated. I'll spread that around.

Love this company. Just received my second seed order of the year from them. Decided to start into the wonderful world of seed saving. did a quick search and found victoryseeds.com. They are great. Even though they said that they were backed up with orders they still shipped fast. I don't have alot of gardening space so i only ordered a few types of seeds but i have already started the seeds indoors and they are all sprouting allready. The germination ratio is great with their seeds. I look forward to huge juicy beefsteak tomatoes and delicious peppers. I will deffinitly save some of these seeds for more planting next year. Deffinitly the seed supplier to go with when you are in the need of some non hybrid pure seed.

I placed my first order with Victory in December for a large amount of my seed needs this year. Very reasonable prices for seed. Shipping was pretty fast and reasonably priced. I like how the seeds are in a small ziplock bag inside the seed packet. Number of seeds in the packet is higher than expected as well. For example, expected about 20 seeds in a packet of Roma tomatoes, there are around 40. So far, my germination rate has been near 100% for 2 types of Lettuce and 4 types of tomatoes. I'm very impressed with Victory and will plan to order the bulk of my seeds from them in the future as well.

This is one of my main seed sources every year. This year I ordered the bulk of my seeds from them with no problems. There was suppose to be a 10-15 business day delay. What a suprise it was when they shipped it out after one and half weeks. I revieved my order 2 weeks to the day of order. They even gave me an e-mail notification of when it was shipped. So, I didn't have to worry if it was sent out. All the seeds have an excellent germination rate and develop a good stand. Every plant has been very productive. There prices are still very reasonable. What a great seed company.

I've ordered a few times for about a dozen or so varieties of veggies. Almost all heirloom varieties (maybe all of them). I had very few seeds that did not germinate.

Even the difficult to germinate beets did very well. I think maybe 2 or 3 "seeds" didn't germinate out of a whole pack. It's pretty amazing.

People there are very friendly and very helpful. I'm whittling down the number of companies where I get my seeds and Victory Seeds will be on my shorter lists.

Love the fact they are very active with helping keep heirloom varieties going strong.

I am extremely pleased with the seeds I received from Victory seeds. I ordered Cardoon and Borage and the seeds became seedlings in less than a week. I picked Victory because they appeared to be a smaller, friendly company with heirloom seeds. When in need, I will definately order from Victory again. They shipped my order fast and the seeds were packaged properly. Cardoon is not something you can buy seeds for in any stores that I have seen so I was happy to find it at Victory Seeds.
