Been doing business with Everwilde Farms over 10 years and continue doing business with them for quality seeds, quality packaging and low cost. We use these seeds for schools and give free seeds to Gardner’s at Health Lectures. Hope this helps those of you looking for quality vegetable, herb and native flower seeds. I did have a quite good germination rate with this company, some more difficult plants germinated well. And I really like that they have a full germination instruction on their packets and I don't have to run back to the computer to find out. With most seeds there packets are of generous size. They also test the germination rate and state that on the packet. What do you want more?

Posted on March 27, 2017, updated January 20, 2018 I ordered some seed and was impressed with the pricing and the speed. The packaging is fancy as well. The reason I'm giving this a neutral is that I don't see anything on their website that says they're not using neonicotinoid pesticides. Those are linked to bee illnesses. People promoting "neonics" often use fallacious arguments, like about whether or not the neonics kill the bees outright. That's hardly the only issue. Weakened immune systems. Flight confusion. Etc. I am not at all looking forward to spending the money, time, and effort to make a meadow if it's going to harml the insects I'm making the meadow for! Please, all wildflower companies, put out a statement that says no neonics, one that we can trust. It will make life for the conscientious consumer much easier.

On January 19th, 2018, IndianaOhio added the following: Some of the seed I ordered turned out to be years old. Judging by what I read it seems that they have quite old stock from when the business was under previous management. Even with mylar packaging I'm not sure the seeds are going to be fresh enough to be viable for some species. I would ask them to provide a photograph of the date of collection/storage for anything if I were you. One species I ordered a pound of, for instance, had seed that looked visually old compared to the same species I ordered from another company (which reported, on the bag, a germination rate of 23%! — a fact not mentioned on their website). Businesses really should do what Sheffield's does and post the date of collection for each species they sell. Some other companies also tell you when the harvest was but many don't put it online. They just tell you informally which could be true and may not be.
Company representative comment on January 20, 2018:
On Jan 20, 2018 5:54 PM, Everwilde Farms, Inc. responded with:

I saw this post, and needed to clarify a few things.

I am not sure what is meant by "visually old" seed, but please know that the seeds that we sell are not old or low quality. I am assuming that the 23% germination rate was on the seeds from the other company because I just checked our database, and all of our seed lots test much higher than this. If we had a lot that tested at 23% germ, it would be pulled from our stock and disposed of. We are regularly inspected by the USDA to ensure that we are selling good seeds.

The other item that I wanted to clarify is that Everwilde Farms is not under new management. We started this company about 20 years ago, and are still very involved in the daily operations and decisions.

We truly hope that the seeds that you purchased from us perform well for you! If you have issues germinating them, please get in touch with us, and we would be happy to help you out.

I have been purchasing from Everwilde Farms for several years now and have always been impressed with the germination, health and vigor of their seeds. Their seed is always fresh and is clearly labeled when it was harvested. This year I placed an order for $68.60 and they shipped it Priority Mail for no additional charge, free shipping. I also like their custom made, resealable, foil lined seed packets. Quality all the way around.

First time customer in winter 2016. Purchased seeds of several species. Order shipped quickly. Germination percent and seedling vigor of Amsonia illustris, Asclepias verticillata and viridis, Echinacea pallida and paradoxa and Zizia aurea have been great. Still waiting on germination of Liatrus aspera and Rudbeckia triloba Red Sport. (They note on their website these may take longer to germinate.) Germination of Zizia aptera was just so-so. They provide great information on recommended stratification. Will purchase from them again.

Posted on January 13, 2016, updated January 13, 2016 I placed an order at the start of January and had it in less than a week. I like how things are organized on their website, it made ordering really easy. The seeds came in resealable foil packets with growing information. They are generous in their seed amounts. I did contact customer service because I thought I received a wrong sized item, but it was my error. The fastest way to contact them is by phone for customer service. E-mail and FB did not result in a response. Overall great experience.

The amount of seeds were plenty, especially for the price. Shipping was fair. Can't wait to see the germination rates. I will follow up in the spring. Thanks Everwilde!

Awesome seeds! I've had excellent germination with the seeds that I purchased, I planted them over the winter in my winter sowing containers and they have all sprouted this week. Seeds arrived quickly, I will be ordering again. I also really like the 'gold' packaging, I am clumsy and often drop seeds while working with them, and the packaging made it a lot easier to keep the seeds contained.

I've ordered seeds from Everwilde a couple of times with no problem. The last time, I ordered some pea seeds, which came in their super tough foil / plastic / zip-lock "Gold Vault" seed packet. On the cold, wet, muddy day I was out planting a small row of peas, I closed the remainder of the packet, shoved it in my pocket, and forgot about it. After coming in the house covered in mud, I threw the clothes in the (front loading) washing machine, completely forgetting the packet of peas. After the wash, the sticker on the outside of the packet was gone, but the seed inside was completely dry! A rare thing to have a product live up to the hype. So far, they seem to be a good place for vegetable and culinary herb seeds.

First order went accoringly, second was horrible. I paid a few extra dollars for USPS Priority Mail, they sent it via First Class. What's the point of giving us options if you're not going to send it via the shipping speed we paid for. After I noticed the mix up I emailed them and received a response they were sorry about the error and will refund the difference. It has been over 2 weeks and I have not seen anything, I did email them requesting the status of the refund but was ignored. What worries me is if they do this often they are making money off others who don't notice this ''error''.

Reviews on this company are so tiresomely repetitive, but what can I do--the order came as specified, no problems, the packaging is uniquely wonderful...not only does the resealable gold foil quite probably extend seed life, it's really pretty. There is something inspiring in the logo...And the information stickers are concise and useful. Can't talk about germination yet. Prices were reasonable.

Posted on January 9, 2014, updated January 8, 2015 Everwilde Farms is a great company! I have purchased from them several times and I always get great service and quality seeds. The seeds I ordered were shipped next day and were received in good time and good condition with an information sheet about growing wildflowers. In terms of ordering seeds, Everwilde is a very smooth ride with a quick and easy and informational website. I always appreciate an automated note when orders are shipped so I will have an idea of when to expect delivery and this is not available at Everwilde. Still, I cannot fault them for this and will enjoy being a repeat customer.

I planned out my order before realizing how high the shipping charges would be. I was far enough along I went with it anyway, but the shipping charges are so high (nearly 30% of my subtotal on an order with 12 items) I'll probably try to avoid Everwilde in the future. I don't know if the shipping charges were so high last year -- this is my second year ordering from them -- or if I just didn't pay attention to the shipping charges last year. Extraordinarily high shipping charges are my only complaint.

I ordered from this company for the first time last fall. At that time, I could only give my experience as to their excellent selection, pricing and shipping--all of which were above par. Now that spring is here and I have planted my native wildflower seeds, I can attest to to the fact that the seed germinates at a rate much higher than is listed on the package. To begin with, you get a lot of seeds for the price you pay, and then the seeds exceed all expectations as to quality. That's a powerful combination. Customer service is excellent at this company and they have the best shipping costs in the business. I appreciate that I only paid the cost to ship my product, and didn't have to pay an exorbitant price to have a bunch of advertising mailed to me with my product. Their packaging is excellent, as well. I can't say enough good about this company.

Full info on the back in type size easy enough to read even with bi-focals! The actual photos of the plants on the front are very colorful and easy to locate in a pile of seed packs. I guess what I like the best about the company is their selection.....simply outstanding selection of common and hard to find wildflowers. I have been looking since last year for Wild Indigo (Baptisia Tincotoria.) Although a lot of catalogs say they hve Wild Indigo, it is usually the blue flowering kind, not the yellow flowering kind which I was looking for to use as a natural plant based dye. So far, everything has been a positive experience for me. :-) The first thing that struck me about Everwilde website was the plant charts. I LOVE this! My favorite charts are height, soil requirements, light requirements and bloom time. Not only can I pick which chart I want, there are several!, but that each chart gives you all the info that is contained in all the other charts, just mixed within. (My one wish is that the information to interpret the charts be moved higher on the page, possibly above the charts themselves, only because when looking at the chart, I had no guide to go by and had to hunt for it.) So, there I was exploring all the pages, looking through seed mixes, then the different seeds. It's contagious!! I went for 2 kinds of seeds, I wound up ordering 17 kinds. When they arrived, which didn't take long, Steve Sykora had written on the receipt letting me know that if I was fall planting that I didn't need to to stratify my seeds, now this was listed on the website, but he wanted to make sure, for all those that don't read the little print. ;-) Each seed packet has a label on it with all sorts of info, including when they were packaged. I loved that I could determine how many seeds I wanted - they give different options of amounts - yet still be super reasonable in price. Okay, I'll be honest - cheap! Go to the store and buy a packet of seeds, you get probably 10-15 seeds, depending on seed, and for what.......$1.50- 4.00 per packet. With Everwilde, just some examples of my order: Ratibida columnifera (Long-Headed Coneflower): 1000 seeds - $2.50 Castilleja coccinea (Indian Paintbrush): 1000 seeds - $2.50 Aquilegia canadensis (Wild Columbine): 290 seeds - $2.50 The list goes on.. sure, there are some that I get less seeds, yet cost same or more, but I look at what kind they are. To me, Wild Columbine is worth it, it is a native for Florida - so yup, I'm willing to pay for it. Just my $.02 cents, but Everwilde is one place where I will be heading to again... and again. :-) -Christine

Difficult to sum up my very positive personal experiences with this company in such a tiny space. I called them looking for seed ideas. It had been my intent to pass out seed packs as a gift when I went to volunteer to work with a decent sized group of people. I figured I needed at least 50 packs but decided to go for 100 packs just in case. I'm sort of picky with seeds and plants, I admit it. He talked to me on the phone and I shared with him my ideas for a give-away seed mix. He then offered his ideas for a seed mix based on my comments and followed up with an e-mail outlining what he thought would work best. Because of his thoughtful comments, we were able to come up with a mix that worked that was also affordable. One stop shopping here. They can obviously cater to the individual as well as to a large group and he kept the prices low for me by offering suggestions of seed I could substitute to keep the pricing down to that which was within my budget. I'm very pleased. The seed was fresh and was received shortly after I ordered it. When I received my order, there were handwritten notes on how to split out the seed into individual give-away packs as well as other helpful comments. He even included a sample pack representative of the quantity that I needed to place into each seed pack so that I wouldn't cut myself short. As it turned out, I ended up with 10 extra packs. How very nice. More to share at future activities.

On April 9th, 2007, Equilibrium added the following: Was extremely pleased with my first order. Placed a second order based on my initial experiences with Everwilde. This order was substantially larger than the first. Again, they helped me custom select the seeds for the mix. I ordered and received 500 packs of custom native seeds for use in educational programming within the community. Couldn't be happier! I look forward to doing business with this company again.
