Oh boy where do I start. Robert Coble has many faces and has changed his busniness name too. Let me start at the begining. I went with my parents to purchess a front porch rail. He wanted a deposit and my parents made a down payment. Well he ripped them off. He took there money and never delivered the rail. My parents are in there late 70's. I tried to find Mr. Coble but he has moved his busness. I have found Mr. Coble and If you are looking for him you can find him on 72 west in Tuscumbia beside the dollar store. He has no sign but you can see some lamp post behind the fence. It is across the street from the resturant Rocking Chair. He has stated that the new owner of Tuscumbia Iron works is Devin Coble. Guess what that is his son who is one year old. Another scam by Robert Coble to hide his cheating business. I am a retired cop and I plan to sue him. Just to get a little justice. Here are a few of his past business names. Coble Bros LLC, Coble Metal Works, Southeasten Architectural and Tuscumbia Iron works. If you have any bad luck with him please call the District Attorney he Knows all about Mr. Robert Coble. What he does is illegal and he is a criminal. He needs to do some jail time. One day he will get his ass kicked.

Since I sold the web site I have not been able to login and reply to any comments however today the staff at Dave's Garden helped me to retrieve my username and password and told me how to change the email address linked to the account since the email address was a coblemetalworks.com address I no longer had access to it, I still own Southeastern Architectural Metals all I sold was the web site which was sold to Tuscumbia Iron Works as the web site brought in more work than my company could handle however I am working on a new web site that is scaled down to just a few of the items we used to produce, it is architectural-ironwork.com.
As for this guy’s comments, I do not have any outstanding contracts for railing that are late!! Whoever this is has not called or anything with any concerns over a railing job, I do not even know who it is. Whoever he/she is apparently knows I have a one year old son however the supposed ex-cop needs to do a bit more detective work since he got the name wrong, Devin is not my son. If he was looking for my company why did he not just look in the phone book? Yes I moved my company but that was almost two years ago and the phone number did not change. I believe this is a malicious comment and would guess this person to either be a competitor who is tired of me taking their work or the pathetic ex-wife.

On July 24, 2006 I sent a check for a water fountain. It was never shipped. Recently had a running dialogue with "Rob" still no fountain. This guy is a liar and a cheat and I intend to have a suite against him. It will cost more than the fountain but it will be worth it What this guy needs is a kick in the ass too. S. Sinclair Chicago

In October of 2005 I ordered 8 plastic globes for my lampposts and sent a check for the full payment and shipping costs. It is now July of 2007 and I still have no globes, no refund and no response from Southeastern Architectural Metals. I wish I would have seen this website sooner. I am still going to contact the attorney general regarding the fraud I feel I was a victim of. Buyer Beware!

Hello, Just thought i would put my input about rob coble i know.We dated a while and the whole time he was always waiting for a check to come in to go out and eat, blow money that wasnt his because in my opinion as well as ures the money was to but the material, which most tghe time had not been done much less pay his workers to build your order. So i do believe he is a conartist as well. Ordered on October 4, 2005 two Vienna Single street lanterns. With shipping to Michigan it ran about $ 587.00 I am SO STUPID to sent them a check as I don't like to deal with COD's etc.. I should have known better..(Don't do business with companies who DON'T accept VISA) Anyway, same experience as all of you..calls are never answered.. Their fax number 766-6049 belongs to some other Cy with the same name but has NOTHING to do with Robert Coble (they claim) . Anyway bye bye money..As a sour footnote, I ordered these posts to enhance our backyard in memory of our son who got killed in an accident.. Thanks Robert Coble for your help..( my son will understand this...)

You should have checked your facts before attempting to attack my good company. I purchased the website from Southeastern Architectural Metals. I am not the previous owner of that company and my business is not affiliated with them.

My company would appreciate an apology. Tuscumbia Iron Works is not a company of con artists and have not received a single complaint from a customer.

On October 3, 2005 I contacted Coble Metal and contracted for two cast aluminum light poles. I asked for an invoice and by email received what appeared to me to be a professional invoice. Coble Metal requires 1/3 down, and I sent the check to them on October 4, for $222.00. The check was cashed on October 13. I waited until November 1, without hearing anything, so I attempted to contact....."Southeastern Architectual Metals" or "Coble Metal Works" for a staus update. I have not been able to make contact by phone, by email or by Fax. I then started calling agencies in Florence and found out the following; BBB said Unsatisfactory performance. "They take your money and provide nothing". Chamber of Commerce, "Oh yes, we know them, you had better call the District Attorney's Office". The DA's office told me there is an on going action on Robert Coble. Today, I received an email through "Dave's Garden that I would know by Monday what the status of my light poles is. Does anyone want to take this bet. I guess we've been scamed unless Dave's Garden can help us.

I ordered an outdoor light post globe sending a check of $74.00 which was cashed by the company on 10/17/05. Several attempts to contact them by email and phone have not been answered as to the status of my order. I've filed complaints with the BBB and the District Attorney's office in Florence, AL.

I too ordered a lamp post (4/17/05)and sent a deposit of $300.00. The deposit check was cashed imediately. But as of today I have yet to receive the post. I have contacted the company over 300 times (phone calls, emails etc.) When I did get a response I heard every excuse in the book. I spoke to someone on the phone about May 12th, who "assured" me my post was due to be shipped by R&L Trucking that Friday. (I have since found out R&L Trucking has no record of ever doing business with them.) Also during the conversation I mentioned I had read other negative comments about the company on this website. (What a coincidence that a positive comment appeared here May 13, 2005 from someone in Florence, Al, home of Coble Metal Works). I've filed a fraud by deception report with the Florence , AL police department. And I am contacting the attorney General's office as well.

Unfortunately I did not find this site until it was too late. I have had the same exact experience with Coble Metal Works as the other two people who have posted negative comments. Coble has cashed my deposit check for my order but will not return my calls or e-mails. As of now I am also filing a complaint with the Alabama Attorney General as well as other legal action. I strongly recomend you do not use this company!!

You wrote this approximately 2 weeks before your order was due to be shipped, your order was also about 2 weeks late (sorry for that) the truck line that delivered your lamp posts neglected to collect the COD when they delivered and I ended up having to have an attorney collect the balance from you.

We sent a deposit for a lamp post A-1105 Victorian Post. It did take the company longer then the 5 weeks to get. They said they had some trouble with a powder coating machine. I think a lot of the trouble was the lack of comunication. Anyway, we got the post and it was a lot better then it was pictured. We figured because we were buying a discount post that we would get less of quality. We we wrong. It just goes to show you that sometimes waiting is a pain, but in the end a discount is worth waiting for. We have since ordered one more post to match are other one.

A lamp post and Fountain were ordered with a 6 week timeline and a deposit check of $345.00 sent. Periodic emails were sent checking on the status, with return emails indicating no anticipated delays. The week of scheduled shipping came and went with no reply regarding its status. Finally, a response came indicating he was "out of town". Of course this didnt satisfy me as I desired the shipment of goods. At this point I inquired with the local BBB and found his record to be unsatisfactory. At this point I have requested a refund of my deposit amount and will be seeking alternative remedies to obtain that amount back.

On April 18th, 2005, ismdavid added the following: As of 4/18/05 The company has not refunded my deposit money and is apparently not planning on as they have refused to communicate with me. I have filed a report with the Alabama Attorney General to investigate this business fraudulent activity and also STRONGLY suggest taking your business elsewhere!
On December 1st, 2005, ismdavid added the following: I was glad to hear from the Florence County District Attorney today after many months of no news. It does sound like they are in the process of attempting to get this business to cease and desist and to shut down its website. Its a long way from over, and I'll probably never receive any money back from this transaction, but I do hope the District Attorney has some success in its endeavors. If you have had a bad experience with this company, please contact the D.A. and join in the process.
On December 19th, 2007, ismdavid added the following: Positive news - This week I received from the Alabama government a reimbursement check for the amount that was lost a few years ago. This money was from the settlement reached with Coble Metalworks last year. I was mid way down on a list of claimants and we are being reimbursed in the order in which our claim was filed. Hats off to the DA for a job well done.

On April 20, 2004, I ordered a cast aluminum mailbox and send a check for 1/3 the total amount as a deposit. With the invoice was a note indicating that the lead time was approximately 6 weeks. When I didn't receive the mailbox after 2 months, I started leaving messages and sending emails inquiring as to the status; none of my calls were returned and none of my emails were answered. Frustrated at getting no response, I sent a registered letter on July 28 asking for either a shipping tracking number or a refund of my deposit by August 13. No one ever signed for the registered letter and it was returned to the sender. I was actually able to reach the (I presume) owner of the company on August 12. He said the he would call me back that day with a shipping number. He never called back. After many more unanswered phone messages, I was again able to speak to the owner on September 10. He assured me that the item would ship that day and that I should receive it no later than September 14. After the mailbox didn't show up by September 23, I again spoke with the owner on the phone and was told that the item shipped on September 13. Since then, I have left many, many messages on the owner's cell phone and with his secretary demanding a shipping status or a refund. No one has returned my phone calls. After nearly six months, I have neither my mailbox, a shipping tracking number, nor my deposit. Given this comany's apparent inability to ship an item anywhere near when promised and their abysmal customer service, I can not caution potential customers stongly enough to take their business elsewhere.
